I ran out of the house as fast as I could before I do anything stupid

"She's not my mate"

"Maybe I'm just very hungry"

"Then why can't I drink from her?"

"Because I know it's gonna end her life"

"But she's just my pet"

Huh! I took my phone from my pocket and called Megan

"Hey Meg"

"Wassup Dev"

"Can you send some maids to look after Arielle? I think I drank too much" I said, rubbing my face

"Yeah sure but where are you now" She asked through the phone

"I'm outside, I'm about to go for a hunt" I replied

"What? Didn't you just drink from Arielle?" She asked

"I did but I'm still hungry" I answered

"Dev, do you think..." I cut her off

"I don't wanna think about that" I said and cut the call. I ran into the woods

I woke up feeling sticky and sweaty. My sight was blurry and I could only make out a few people wearing white and blue. Little by little, everything started coming back to me. From Devon to his red eyes to his extremely painful and unexpected bite. It was only then I could feel the stiffness in my neck. I was in dire need of a neck crack. I tried to sit up but a maid held me down?

"I'm okay" I whispered to the maid and she seemed to get the message because immediately, she removed the wet towel from my head and sat me up. I tried to crack my neck but I was hit with intense pain

"Ahh! That son of a mosquito" I screamed and heard a light chuckle from my side. How did I not notice him earlier

"What...what are you doing here?"I asked and my voice cracked at the end. I need water

"Have this..."he gave me a glass of water and signalled the maids to leave the room, leaving both of us alone "...Your Prince has been away since last night and no one knows where he is so Megan has gone to look for him. She told me to look after you before he comes back" Joshua said

"Oh" where could he have gone? I thought.

"Now that you're feeling okay, would you like to eat in the room or go to the dining. Everyone else has eaten though so you'll be pretty lonely" He said and rubbed the back of his neck

"Nah, I'll just eat here" I answered

"Cool. Imma go get it now" He said and ran his hands through his hair...wow. As if sensing my thoughts, he smirked, stood up and walked out of the room. Stupid boy

Joshua's POV

I got to the kitchen and asked one of the maids to serve Arielle's food. As I was about to climb the stairs with the maid right behind me, Devon opened the door, covered in blood and ran towards me, pushing the maid and held me by the neck. He sniffed and said

"Arielle" He ran up the stairs and not long after, Megan came into the house and ran up to me

"What did Devon say?" She asked looking so worried

"Well...Arielle?" I said

"Oh no" she said and ran up the stairs. That's the first time I've seen her run with her vampire speed. I have no idea what's going on so I followed the maid back to the kitchen while another was cleaning the mess up
