I watch as Princess Megan paces around the room. She's been doing that a lot lately

"Why're you staring?" she suddenly stops and asks me

"You look..."

"Don't tell me what I look like. In fact, I think I'm a little bit hungry" she says and licks her fangs. I take that as my cue to leave

Once again, I'm left with nothing to do, and I'm definitely not stupid enough to meet Arielle. The fact that I'm still alive just proves how gracious prince Devon is. I heard there's a library. But I need Permission from my owner in order to get in and the Princess is totally in distress. Maybe I could ask Tal....

"Ouch, watch where you're going mate" an irritated face stares back at me. He looks young, too young to be a pet. These Vampire demons probably don't care. They'd do anything for some good blood. I should probably act nice

"Oh, I'm so sorry. I was distracted..."

"Yeah sure whatever. Just get out my way" he says and tries to walk past me

"You know, that attitude is going to get you killed" I say and he slowly turns to look at me

"Get...get me killed?" he tilts his head to the side "are you a vampire?" he looks really confused. I should scare him

"I could be" I smirk

He looks me over and shakes his head

"nah. If you were, I would have recognized your scent" he says and sniffs me "you're just a silly human" he frowns and walks off

Wait...is he a...

I hear a whooshing sound and feel a cool breeze. That answered my question. But he looks so young

"Arielle, we have to go" I stand up and carry my jacket

"Go where" she asks and stands up

"Dining. The Royals of Dilavi have decided to grace us with their presence. Hurry up"

"I'm coming, hold on" she says and struggles to put on her sandals

"Why do I even need to be there?"

"Because I need to be there" I say with a smile, making her frown

"Are you with your collar?"

"Yeah, I got it" she says and puts it around her neck

"Are they going to be annoying?" she asks

"They're royals, what do you expect" I say and she laughs

"And also, their son is a little bit..." the guards open the door to the dining hall and a young voice screams

"Uncle Devon!" Ryan speeds and jumps on me

"Hi Ryan" I try my best to say with the little opportunity he gives me to speak

"Ryan, get off prince Devon at once!" His mother, Queen Rebecca Corvin, gracefully strolls down to my side and tries to get him off....TRIES

"No no no, it's okay aunty" I say and try to bring him down but he refuses

"Of course it's not! A prince should not act so recklessly" she says and Ryan jumps off me...JUMPS

"Don't say that Mother" he says and adjusts himself "I missed him, that's all" he says and speeds back to his seat.

Queen Rebecca shakes her head and strolls back to her chair. I turn to look at Arielle who looks honestly amused. Not wanting to pry through her personal thoughts, I take her hand in mine and join the rest at the table. This little act doesn't escape my mother. She looks at the Corvins and back at me, warning me to not draw their attention. Holding Arielle's hand isn't a problem, she's my mate and my parents know that, but the Corvins don't, and they definitely shouldn't. Arielle on the other hand, seems comfortable with it, and if she isn't, she doesn't show it.

I sit down and made Arielle sit beside me, on Megan's chair. This startles everyone, including Arielle

"Prince Devon, why's she sitting down?" King Darius asks

"Err... she's been good this week so I decided to umm...reward her, isn't that right Arielle?" I turn to her and pat her head. She nods really slowly, obviously confusedI hope that was convincing enough. They seem to buy it though

"That's true. Where's your twin sister Megan?" King Darius asks

"Oh yeah she's..."

"Right here" Megan barges into the hall and looks at Arielle, then me, then Arielle again

"I love you brother, but why in Ruenastia, Is Arielle on my chair?!"

"Don't make it a big deal. Just sit on the next one" I say and she turns to look at the next chair. She shrugs and sits down. Joshua followed. He stands beside Megan and turns to look at Arielle. He then looks up and smile.

"Uncle, Aunty. So nice to see you two. How've you been?" she smiles but it looks strained

"Very well Megan." Queen Rebecca says "how..." she doesn't finish before Ryan throws a spoon at Megan. I snicker and Rebecca looks like she is about to have a heart attack, Darius, with my parents, looks honestly amused. Megan's face is hilarious

"Ryan!" Queen Rebecca shouts

"Why you little..." Megan starts but before she could finish, Ryan runs across the hall and jumps on Megan's thigh, pushing Joshua aside

"I missed you too Aunty Megan" he says and hugs her, making Megan's anger dissolve into affection

"I swear, one of this days, you're going to make me throw you off a cliff" Megan says and immediately, Ryan runs back to his chair, not doing well to avoid his mother's spank

"Let's eat" Mother says and the maids serve the food

"Aunty Megan, why's that man standing behind you?" Ryan asks

"Oh him" Megan turns to look at Joshua "he's Joshua, he's my..."

"I don't like him" Ryan says and Joshua rolled his eye

"That makes two of us" I mumble

"Don't say that Ryan, he's my pet"

"A pet?"

"Yes. My Pet" she says and Ryan turns to his Dad

"Father, I want a pet" Ryan says, making king Darius choke on blood

"Ryan, you can't have a p..."

"Why not father?" Ryan asks

"Because you're too young"

"I'm turning 62 next month" he says

"You can't have a pet until you've become of age Ryan" Rebecca says

"Actually, there's no law that states that" I say and everyone keeps quiet

"Even though, you don't expect me to get him a 7 year old pet"

"No! I want a 60 year old pet" once again, the whole hall is silent until we all start laughing

"You can't get a 60 year old pet"

"Why?"

"Because that's too old!"

"So I'm old then" Ryan smiles triumphantly

"No you're hahhhh..."King Darius sighs "you'll get your pet on your next birthday"

"Really" Ryan asks excitedly

"Yeah really?" Megan cocks her eyebrow

"I have no choice"

"Yes!" Ryan throws a fist then frowns "She should look like Joshua though"

"Yeah o....wait...she?"

"Yes father, a 'she'" Ryan smirks

"And the young keep growing" I say and reach for the jar of blood
