Partying was fun for Ana Petrova, but after the first decade, it lost it's edge. The vampire had escaped torture with one of her closest friends, but the pair had gone their separate ways in 2001, leaving Ana alone, once again.
Downing a whole bottle of whiskey, Ana's eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the scrunched note next to her hand. She scanned the crowd cautiously, thinking that her sister might've found her, but instead, she opened the note to find a written message from... Damon Salvatore? Ana had known a Damon before, but this couldn't be him, because the blue eyed vamp had left her to rot in Augustine. What a jerk. This should be interesting.
So Katerina is still around? Ana thought, Hmm, should I go and see sister for the first time in five hundred and eighteen years, or should I continue to drown my sorrows in the French alcohol? Well, looks like it's time for a sibling reunion.
Here I come, Katerina.

The five hundred year-old vampire hadn't set eyes on Mystic Falls for years, so seeing the dreary little town from her taxi window was definitely nostalgic. Brushing a strand of dark hair away from her face, Ana leaned over the seat so she could see the taxi driver.
"Why are so many people roaming the streets tonight?" She questioned the man, her pupils dilating as she compelled him to tell her.
Stuck in a trance, the man spoke in a monotone voice "There's a masquerade tonight, the town is celebrating." After he replied, the taxi driver turned his head back to the road.
Ana grinned, clapped her hands together and exclaimed "Looks like I've got myself an outfit to buy. I've missed partying like this."
Once the taxi stopped, Ana hopped out and headed straight down the street, ready to grab herself a pretty outfit before confronting her sister. The vampire didn't care if her sister was wrecking havoc, Ana wasn't ready to appear underdressed after all these centuries.

Ana Petrova found the Mystic Falls masquerade ball to be too formal for her liking. The vampire had spent the last decade with her humanity switch off with a bottle of whiskey glued to her hand. There was a huge contrast between a masquerade and the Paris clubbing scene.
It wasn't impossible to locate her sister, not when Katerina was already causing racket upstairs. Ana instantly recognised her sister, and... what was Damon doing here? No, he couldn't be the same Damon from Augustine... could he?
Before Ana could continue analysing, the black-haired girl was spotted by Stefan, causing him to say aloud "Hey! What are you doing there?"
"Why, I was summoned." Ana replied mysteriously, strutting into the room and perching against one of the arm chairs.
Katerina glanced at the girl, not recognising her own sister from all those years ago "I don't understand. Who are you?"
"Ana?" Damon asked, squinting at the girl whom he spent years in Augustine with "That can't be you..."
"But it is. Hello, Damon. How long has it been since you left me to rot in torture...?" Ana asked, circling the dark haired vampire. Ana would be lying if she said that she wasn't slightly annoyed that Damon left her, seeing as it was her and Enzo's rations that got him out in the first place.
"Fifty-two years." Damon replied almost instantly, watching Ana intensely "But that doesn't explain what you're doing in Mystic Falls."
Ana laughed at everyone's confused expressions, taking off her mask so Katerina could identify her sister "You summoned me with that little note?"
"Wait..." Katerina mustered, walking forward and frowning at Ana "You're not-"
"Oh, yes, Katerina." Ana smirked "Hello, sister."

All four vampires wandered in the room, Stefan watching Ana, Katherine chatting to her sister and Damon cussing about being stuck in the room - especially now the tensions had risen with Ana in the room.

"So, enlighten me." Stefan mused, sitting beside the two sisters whilst Damon waited for Bonnie outside "How long has it been since you two have spoken? I mean, I may not be as old as you two, but it doesn't take much to tell that you aren't on the greatest of terms."
Sitting forward in her chair, Ana locked eyes with Katherine as she spat "It's not like I'd want a relationship with a sister who, gosh I don't know, turned me into a vampire? The day after you found out I was engaged, too."
"Ana, I did it for your own good." Katherine scolded, scooching along the seat so she could be sat beside her sister "You think I enjoyed killing you? I couldn't just leave you, you would've been killed."
Damon turned around and scoffed "Looks like we weren't the only ones Katherine screwed over."
"You bargained the moonstone." Stefan breathed, Ana's confession making Stefan realise the truth of it all "When you struck a deal with George Lockwood. To help you fake your death, you told me that you gave George something he needed. It was the moonstone, wasn't it?"
"Who even are you?" Ana asked Stefan, raising an eyebrow at the vengeful vampire.
Stefan frowned, but Katherine answered for him "Stefan Salvatore, previous lover, nineteenth century." Katherine diverted her attention away from Ana and towards Stefan, growing agitated in confinement "Good for you, Stefan, two plus two... and it would have worked out, except that people found out I wasn't in the tomb." Turning to Damon, Katherine finished "Thanks to you. By the way, have I mentioned how inconvenient your obsession with me has been?"
"You and me both, honey."
Trying to change the subject back to the previous topic, Stefan asked "Why do you need it back?"
"Why do you need to keep talking about a damn moonstone?" Ana retorted, glaring at Stefan, and deciding that she already didn't like the buzzkill.
Damon's forehead scrunched in confusion "Hey, I thought you were on our side!"
"I'm on no one's side." Ana confirmed, pouring herself a glass of bourbon "Think of me like a... mediator."
Stefan ignored Katherine's younger sister, continuing "And what were you doing with it in the first place?"
"You're wasting your breath, Stefan." Damon told his brother, rolling his eyes at Stefan's relentless attitude.
"Unless it wasn't yours to begin with." Stefan said to Katherine, pointing a finger at his ex "In 1864 you faked your death. Who were you running from, Katherine? Does Ana know who?"
Katherine watched her sister cautiously, changing the topic to get Stefan to give up "In 1987, you were in Chicago, at a concert of all places. With that wench Lexi. Come on, Stefan, don't look so surprised. Of course, I checked in on you over the years. You were standing in the front row dancing all night. You were watching Bon Jovi, and I was watching you."
"Who were you running from?" Stefan asked her, trying to ignore Katherine's attempts to distract him.
"Ana, in 1863 you were in Atlanta, Georgia." Katherine added, ignoring Stefan's question and turning to her younger sister "I visited you there, even spent some time getting to know you again under my own disguise."
Ana's eyes widened in anger "How could you-"
"You had a crush on the human down the street, but I convinced you that he wasn't good enough for you, because he wasn't. Beatrice Worthington ring a bell?" Katherine asked her sister, an eyebrow raised.
Nodding, Ana responded "I always wondered why she disappeared so suddenly..."
"I couldn't stay." Katherine told her sister, smiling sadly "I couldn't stay because the longer I got to know you, the more staying away hurt."
