《Roommates, with nightmares》11

Max's POV
I swear, if I have to listen to more of Carter's annoying, pervey comments, I will stop, drop, and roll out of this moving car. WITHOUT hesitation.
So when we roll up into our driveway, I say "thank god!" as I jump out of the car. Jules and Carter stay in the car while Tyler gets out. "I'm just gonna drop of Julie guys, be good." He points at Tyler, smirking. "see ya Jules." I said sticking up a hand. She smiled and waved back. "Bye!"
They drove off and it was soon, just me and Tyler, alone. We don't speak as we enter the house. The cold hits me and I sigh, loving this cool air. I can feel my sun burn start to approach my skin. Mainly on my back and legs. I HATE sunburns. Almost as much as I hate Alex and Tyler.
More Alex than Tyler.
Right now anyway.
Soon it will change, I know it. I always get tricked so just throw it at me. it's already getting dark outside and I decided to just take a shower and put on some aloe. I think that's what it's called. So I jog to my dresser and grab Toms big batman shirt and a change of panties and a bra before going to the shower.
As I'm in there, washing my hair and body, I'm thinking of what to say to Tyler.
Why did you draw me? Were you jealous today of Alex? What was wrong with you? Are you alright?
You know what, I'll just wing it. I quickly get out and get dressed. I brush my hair and teeth before pulling my wet hair into a pony tail. I walk out and pull my shirt over my butt. I stalk into the living room. Im getting more comfortable without my shorts on around Tyler. Im just half he doesn't say any sexual comment on it.

I sit on the couch beside him, He's shirtless and I'm pants less. Great pair! (sarcasm.) what do u say to him? How do I start the conversation?
Well, Tyler answers that for me.
"You want to watch a movie or something?" I look over at him and nod. He doesn't smile or show any emotion as he turns to the TV and turns on 'Blended' starting Adam sandler. I wasn't about to tell him, Ive seen this movie plenty of times. I'd much rather watch a scary movie though.
I stand and walk towards the kitchen. "You want some popcorn?" I offer. He nods and looks over at me from the dark living room. Then stands.
Why is this so awkward between us?
He walks over ini the kitchen as I put the popcorn in the oven. "So about today.,..... why'd you kiss Alex?" He asked. Why did he care? No seriously, why?
"Why?"
"I just want to know, I thought you were pissed at him."
"I was. I am. I didn't kiss him back, by the way." I tell him.
Ring!
I grab a big bowl and get the popcorn from the microwave. I put it in the bowl and turn back to Tyler. His head hung jut as low as his pants did. "oh...." He mumbled.
"Why do you acre anyways? It's none of your business." I say, a little rudely. He sighs before turning and walking back into the living room. Slumping down onto the couch. I follow him after turning off the kitchen light.
"I just wanted to know, princess." He says. I Shake my head and sit down beside him, his leg briskly touching mine. "lets just watch the movie."

I can't breath. I can't see. I can't move. I feel like I'm frozen. Or surrounded in suffocating steam. I'm in the steam room! No! Help! Get me out!

I open my eyes, although its still like their closed.
Wait a minute.......
I'm in a different part of that steam room. I see MY body lying, useless on the floor. Im seeing this from a different point of view. Or just as a ghost. Why though?
The door to the team room burst open, letting the steam drag out the door. The cold, fresh air takes its place. The boys entering the room don't even seem to notice me, well not me, they see the body of me.
I automatically notice Tyler and chase. As the other two boys that I don't know, laugh their asses off with chase, Tyler runs to my side. He bends down and puts the side of his head on my chest. He leans back up. "She's not breathing!" He yelled. The guys stop laughing and go to my other sides.
Tyler puts one hand on my chest with his other hand over it. He pumps it up and down a couple times and nothing has happened. In a panic, he leans down and puts his lips against mine to give me CPR.
Then everything blurs out.
And my old nightmare goes through my head again, awaking me with tears and screams.

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
