CHAPTER VI :

Cemetery

After buying flowers, their car

finally made it to the cemetery.

Inside the car, however, Y/N is still eating the ice cream he bought.

Alice : "Sir, you still haven't finished?"

Y/N : "Sorry- I have a tendency to eat food slowly when they're delicious.

You can just wait for me outside."

Alice nodded. She opened the

door and went out of the car.

Alice breath in the fresh air,

stretching her body,

now out of the car seat.

Alice took a glance at the car,

and then at the windshield,

where she spotted Ressen

sitting on the front seat,

he was talking on the

phone with his eyes squinting.

Ressen glanced back at Alice.

Ressen then looked away.

After some time, Y/N finally got out of the car, finally done with his ice-cream.

And with that, the two started

walking, going to Y/N's father's grave.

The cemetery was silent,

with barely any people in.

The atmosphere was quiet yet somber.

After some walking past

many tombstones, the two

arrived at Y/N's father's grave.

Y/N set the flowers he

bought at the grave.

Alice looked down at the grave, blankly.

Alice : "Sorry for your loss."

Y/N : "Don't be. I didn't have

the best relationship with him."

Alice : "Oh. Why?"

Y/N : "He neglected me and he

sometimes verbally lash out on me.

But he's still my father... And I sort of understand why he did it..."

Alice : "Why?"

Y/N : "My mom died giving birth to me."

Alice : "Oh."

Y/N : "Yeah. Lucius told me my

father loved my mother a lot. I

guess he took out his grief on me.

And I'm guessing he coped with

the grief by banging other

women and binging alcohol."

Alice : "I'm sorry to hear

he neglected you, sir."

Y/N : "It had a lot of effect on me. I started bullying other kids at early high-school. God, I regret doing that."

Alice : "Why would you do that...?"

Alice asked, almost as if with spite.

Y/N : "My young self lashed out on others because of the neglect I got.

Obviously, as I got older I found out

that lashing out on others is wrong."

Alice : "Good. Beating

the weak is pathetic."

Y/N : "Y-You're right... That's why

I buried everything in the past..."

Alice : "Moving on?"

Y/N : "Yep... That was atleast a decade

ago... Anyways... Sorry for talking to

you about this... Visiting my

father's grave always makes me

contemplate about things."

Alice : "I understand. How did your father died?" She questioned with

her usual blank look.

Y/N : "Ah, he died of food poisoning."

Alice : "Oh..."

Y/N : "Yeah, he was banging someone's wife, the husband found out and poisoned him. Atleast that's what

Lucius told me. I'm not sure though, because the husband hasn't been caught yet. But honestly my father deserved it,

every action has its consequence."

The temperature wasn't as hot

as it was hours ago. The sun is

now just burning gently.

A moment of silence began

between the two of them,

just staring at the grave,

until Alice decided to break it.

Alice : "Why did you choose me,

sir? Others would have definitely chosen Aurum."

Y/N : "My father and grandfather never had any personal bodyguards. So I don't really know why my father planned a bodyguard for me, especially a man

like him, it's very out of the blue. To

be honest I wanted to decline Ayaka's offer, but that's gonna be rude.

So I chose the most moderate

candidate from the three."

Alice : "So, me?"

Y/N : "That's right... And for another reason." Y/N shyly whispered the end.

Alice : "What was that?"

Y/N : "Nothing!" He stammered, blushing.

After visiting the cemetery, they

made their way back home.

It is now afternoon.

There is still more time for other activities to fill the day, which is

why Y/N is in the kitchen.

Y/N is at the kitchen counter with Alice and Maria, he was wearing an apron infront of his clothes. As did Maria.

As for Alice, she is wearing her usual, formal suit clothing, consolidating the aura of a personal bodyguard. And

even though she had the option not

to guard Y/N, since they were are

the mansion, she still chose to.

Y/N : "What will we cook today,

Maria?" Y/N asked excitedly,

eager to learn from Maria.

Just like what Y/N said, his mother died

at his birth. So he started viewing Maria as a mother figure. E̶x̶c̶e̶p̶t̶ ̶s̶h̶e̶'̶s̶ ̶s̶i̶n̶g̶l̶e̶. And started asking her to

teach him how to cook.

Maria : "Oui! Oui! Today we'll try

to cook your favorite food!"

Y/N : "Nice!" Y/N cheered.

Alice is just

watching,

silently.

Maria walked to the fridge,

opening it and seeing that

they are lacking some ingredients.

Maria : "Emma!" Maria called out.

Emma arrived at the kitchen,

having a pale face.

Emma : "Y-Yes...?" Emma stuttered,

as if something bothering her.

Maria grabbed a piece of paper

and started writing down the

necessary ingredients to be

bought by Emma in the grocery.

Maria handed the paper to Emma.

Maria : "Please buy these."

Emma : "A-Alright..." Emma received

the paper with the same pale face.

Y/N was noticing the unusual face that Emma had, the everyday sunshine absent in her face. Y/N decided

to ask her about it.

Y/N : "Anything wrong,

Emma? You look bothered.

Emma : "N-No... It's nothing!"

Emma tried to smile.

Failing at her attempt.

Y/N : "Tell me, Emma."
