《{WICKED GAMES} Mitsuya x Fem!Reader》forty seven

A few months have passed since Luna and Mana came home. You've hung out with the three siblings a lot, mostly working with them in the store when you aren't taking care of Toman's financial situations.
Eventually, Mitsuya did ask you out, too, thanks to Yuzuha, Luna, and Mana telling him that it is "about damn time already!". Ever since then, everything's been a blur, but you don't think you've ever been happier than you are now.
"Shit!" you curse to yourself as you almost burn a batch of cookies.
Well, happy most of the time. You're a bit on edge right now because tonight you've decided that you're finally going to admit to Mitsuya how you truly feel.
As the cookies cool off, you set them on top of your oven and rush around your new apartment. You quietly thank yourself that you didn't burn the place down. Mitsuya would kill you if you did. Well, probably not, but still!
You quickly wrap your cookies in a huge box and place a bow right on top. You then gather the rest of your things and run downstairs. After settling everything onto your bike, you open up your phone and send a quick text to Luna.
It's done.
You place your phone in your pocket and then drive off. As the sun sets down behind the horizon you arrive at your destination. After setting your motorcycle down somewhere you can keep an eye on it, you grab the picnic basket and blanket and make your way through the nearby field of wildflowers.
"Y/N's waiting for you," Luna sings as she types something into her phone.
"She's waiting? You two didn't tell her, did you?" I ask worriedly.
"No, of course not. She just knows it's a date, that's all," Luna assures me.
"Well, she's going to know something's up when she sees me dressed like this," I nod to myself as I check out my attire in my sisters' mirror.
"Don't worry about that," Mana explains. "Just tell her that you wanted to look nice, okay?"
Luna hums in agreement as she looks down at her watch. "Okay, it's time," she explains.

I take a deep breath as I look in the mirror once more. "Alright, I'll be back later."
"We won't be waiting," they giggle as they wave goodbye. It's like they know something I don't, yet I'm the one with the surprise for Y/N.
A few minutes later you hear a bike pull up. You turn around from your spot on the picnic blanket and look over your shoulder to see Mitsuya walking towards you. His hair is blowing back in the wind as he approaches you, somehow knocking the wind right out of your lungs.
Mitsuya sits down beside you on the blanket, taking in your appearance in that new dress you had purchased from his store on the first day it opened.
"You look nice, what's the occasion?" he asks.
You smile as he speaks. "I could ask you the same thing."
When he smiles back, you wrap your arms around his neck and pull him in gently for a soft kiss.
"I made the best breakfast for you," you beam.
"Hm? It is the evening, isn't it?" he teases.
"Yep, the most perfect time for breakfast."
"Well that sure is sweet of you," he hums.
When he kisses you once more, you realize this really is the perfect time to get it all out (and way overdue). He's just so right for you and you're beyond happy that you've become closer to him over the year. Now all it takes is seeing him and you instantly feel like you've just awoken from some kind of therapeutic nap. It's as though every time he's near you, you're immediately so much happier.
You unpack the picnic and enjoy the breakfast for dinner. The two of you smile and laugh together as you eat, talking about nearly anything either of you thinks up in the spur of the moment.
As you're enjoying the fruit salad and almost burnt cookies for dessert, your stomach tightens up in knots. You know you're soon going to have to address why you've asked him to come all the way out here.

"Takashi," you hum as you let out a deep breath, "there's something I wanted to talk to you about today... Something that's super overdue."
He looks at you with absolute confusion in his eyes. It's almost as if he thought he was going to be the one to say that to you.
You stand up and hold out your hand to him which he takes and stands up beside you. As he intertwines your fingers with his, you look down and smile softly at the simple gesture.
The two of you then step away from the blanket towards the nearby grassy hill, watching as the bright orange sun disappears behind the horizon just a little ways away. You then look back towards Mitsuya and your heart nearly jumps out of your chest. He always looks so handsome, but watching as the golden sun hits his skin causes him to glow that much more. But it's when his eyes meet with yours that your heartbeat quickens for the anticipation of what you're finally ready to admit.
You begin quietly as your lips part and you hesitate for a moment out of fear that he may not say it back. "I love you," you whisper as your stomach tightens just enough to make you ready to puke.
However, when he smiles your worries begin to fade. "I'm glad to hear you say that because you mean the world to me, Y/N," he replies as he squeezes your hand gently. "I love you, too."
Just then you throw your arms around his neck and squeeze him tight, ignoring the way you get goosebumps against the cold air. His lips glide over your own smoothy, so warm and soft just like always. You can feel your whole face up to your ears heat up after what you've just admitted, yet the way his hands grip onto your hips and bring you closer helps calm how fast your heart is beating.
"Thank you for everything," you whisper as you pull away from the kiss. "I don't know where I'd be without you."
"I could say the exact same," he smiles gently, "but I know I've never felt happier than I've been lately and that's because I'm always with you. I am never ever going to let you go, Y/N."
But right after he says that his hands let go of your hips. He pulls away to reach for something in the pocket of his expensive-looking jacket that he most likely made recently since you've never seen it before. But as he sinks down onto one knee, thoughts of his attire completely slip your mind. Your eyes begin to water as you realize exactly what he's doing.
"Y/N," he smiles sweetly, just like he always does, "you said almost everything for me already, but we both know that life hits us with so many challenges. Whether it's overcoming life-threatening circumstances or settling financial issues that make us face serious consequences, I know whatever it is we can meet them together if you're willing to face them with me."
"I know it won't always be easy- we'll have our share of burnt cookies and crazy moments- but I also know that there's no one else in this entire world that I'd rather have be my partner. So, Y/N, will you do the honor of marrying me and becoming my wife?"
"Yes!" you shout a bit too loudly considering he's kneeling right below you. "Yes, of course, are you kidding me?"
Tears flood down your face as a soft pink and silver engagement ring is slipped onto your left hand. You feel exactly the same as he had said, there's no one else in this world you'd rather have be by your side either.
As the two of you embrace, neither notice Luna, Mana, Yuzuha, and Hakkai lurking nearby. Yuzuha, of course, taking plenty of photos on her phone to save for later.
"And that, my dear," Mitsuya hums while he sits in a rocking chair with his arms folded together as he holds his most precious package, "is how I proposed to your mother."

MeiQ: Lore of the Labyrinth
Omaros City lays near one of several Yggdrasil trees that are scattered around the world. Each tree holds an entire labyrinthine ecosystem within or beneath it, yet the mysteries of their origins and what lays in their depths are only ever unraveled by the most skilled and courageous of explorers. Exploration of Omaros' Yggdrasil labyrinth is still in its fledgling stages, drawing in many with the allure of fame and glory that has yet to be claimed. Enter the harbinger Dubhan—cheerful, determined, and not terribly skilled at thinking ahead—and warlock Allouet— intelligent and resourceful, but desperately in over his head. Together, the two of them have half an idea of what they're doing at best, but that's not going to stop them from aiming for the labyrinth's unknown depths. MeiQ is, at its core, a fanfiction inspired by the Etrian Odyssey franchise, alternatively known as Sekaiju no Meikyuu in Japan. Despite that, it is written with the intent to be enjoyable by those unfamiliar with the series as well. The characters and the city of Omaros are original, while the story draws upon lore and recurring concepts from the game series. However, Etrian Odyssey is known for its lore being sparse and open to speculation, so much of the details provided in this story are exactly that—a fan’s speculation and personal expansion of the lore. This story was also inspired by and written as part of HereBeTreasure's Fast Food Frontpage Competition, enjoy some simple dungeon exploration plot and whatever else pops up from this.

And maybe, never wanted.

I, Mor-eldal: The Necromancer Thief
As a budding little necromancer, I soon discovered that the world of city people is complicated. When my master kicked me out of the cave, he warned me not to talk about my “dark” magic, because people here don't like the undead. I am not really an undead, I just have a skeleton hand, but it is better to be careful. Anyway, that's not my biggest worry. In the Black Dagger brotherhood, I learn a lot of things, such as illusionist magic, which turns out to be quite handy to survive in this maze of streets: in the Cat Quarter, we have thugs of all kinds that are best avoided. But we also have good people, goodhearted “gwaks”, as we say around here. Little did I know that I would soon be caught up in an infamous traffic that would entangle my life even more. With a mix of lighthearted adventure and picaresque, this story narrates the hectic life of a good-spirited street child and his companions in a medieval urban fantasy setting with some nineteenth-century influences. Updates Mondays and Fridays. This is a Creative Commons By work. It is a translation of a trilogy I wrote in Spanish between 2017 and 2018.
