《Black Cat » The Vampire Diaries》Pro bono

I went to school as I had planned before meeting dead ancestors and I spent most of my day explaining everything that had happened to Caroline between classes. She though my new found way of astral projecting was kind of cool and that I should learn how to control my 'popsicle' powers.
When I went home at the end of the day, after grabbing a snack at the Grill, I found Qetsiyah sitting on my couch while channel hopping. I stopped in my tracks for a minute, before calmly dropping my bag in the kitchen table.
"Your back, finally." Qestiyah greeted, turning off the television in a frustrated manner. "You have like thousands of channels but everything is boring."
"Which is why people nowadays just use their computers." I replied with a shrug. "Are you here to start teaching me?"
"Well, I got nothing else to do anyway." The older witch replied. "The sooner we start the better."
"Alright." I replied with a nod. "How should we start?"
"The first step is water, first you have to learn how to mold it to your whims." Tessa explained. "I suggest you fill a bathtub with water and start with molding the water into objects. Start with big objects with few details until you can create small ones with specific details. When you can do that call my name. Bye for now then Frosty."
With that, the woman vanished as quickly as she had appeared. I let out a sigh of relief, before thinking of what she had told me to do. It made sense, I now could control ice but the water was the main element. The air was only used to change the water into a solid state. Control the water, control the ice. Control depended on one's mental strength, the moment I had enough control to create something perfectly detailed it would mean I had mastered it.
With that in mind, I walked towards the bathroom and filled the bathtub with water. I spend the next five hours kneeling on the bathroom floor trying to create a trident made of water, but the details were beyond me. Well, it seems I'm staying at home for the weekend because I'm not leaving the house until I did this.

Five days. It took me five days. Well, actually the trident made of water took me two days. After that, I decided to create a music box made of water. Not one that actually plays music, but one with all the details of one. The Ballerina that twirls, flower-like decorations and all that. It took me three days to actually be able to maintain all of the details because I had to focus on all of them simultaneously. I had to skip three days of classes but whatever.

"Qestiyah, you there?" I called out, a smirk still on my lips. I was feeling accomplished.
"Qestiyah is such a mouthful, call me Tessa." The voice of my god-like ancestor said from behind me while giving me a scare.
"Tessa, I did what you said." I said, pretending I didn't jump in surprise a second ago. I turned towards her to show her the music box made of water in my hand.
She observed it carefully, before giving me a brief smile."Every good, now turn it into ice."
"Right now?" I asked, surprised. She nodded in response silently, and I looked at the water molded in my hands. I had to concentrate on the air element, without losing focus on the water or the decorations would disappear.
Slowly, the base of the music box started to freeze until it finally reached the top. I let out a sigh and sat on the floor without any energy left. It took not only concentration but also mental energy. I was half ready to go take a nap.
"You're doing better than expected." Tessa commented, looking at me somewhat proud. "It only took you five days to learn how to mold an element to such an extent. Water is an element of nature, it's supposed to be uncontrollable yet you are able to bend it and mold it to your will. The next step is time. You took fifteen minutes to freeze that small box. How can you use it to attack if it takes you this long? However, you need to get out of this house you look like a ghost and I'm the dead one in the room."
"No need to tell me twice, Caroline already said she was about to break down my door to kidnap me If I didn't show up to school tomorrow." I replied, rolling my eyes somewhat annoyed at their mothering.
"Good, and clean yourself up. Can't have my descendants looking like the dead while they're in the same room as a goddam doppelganger." She practically demanded, stating I had to look better than the girl with the face of her enemy. I rolled my eyes at her pettiness, but smiled amused by her vendetta oriented personality.
"Got it." I replied.
"Call me when you can mold the water and freeze it under 20 seconds, until then, toodles." Tessa said and disappeared once more. I had thought she would be worse than Emily, but she was actually a pretty chill teacher. At least when she wasn't, you know, planning on torturing and killing doppelgangers and the like.

I thought of knocking but then again, I decided against it. I pushed the front door of the Salvatore Boarding House and walked in with an annoyed look on my face.
"Hey you're here." Caroline greets me, before giving me a quick hug.
"Oh yeah, I got Stefan's messages which I decided to ignore." I replied, glaring at the youngest Salvatore brother. "I then decided to come here to yell out again that this isn't the 19th century and you can't boss me around like a slave Peaches."
"That's not what I meant at all Bonnie." Stefan replied, frowning at me.
"If you want something for me you have to finish the text with 'let's make a deal', got it?" I replied, letting out my inner Rumpelstiltskin.
"How about a deal then Glinda?" Damon called out, before Stefan could reply. I looked towards Damon to notice not only Alaric, but also a lot of weapons on the table.
"I'm listening." I replied. Damon was about to explain this deal we wanted to make when Jeremy enters the room and declares. "We're going to kill Katherine."
"I can explain." Stefan replies, looking worried about my reaction.
I let out a laugh, and I notice Damon smirking. He knew I would up for it. "If that was all you wanted you could have just said so Stefan, I don't mind killing that skank pro-bono."
--
"Did you bring you grimoire?" Stefan asks me, after Alaric did a show and tell about his hunter weapons.
"No, but I know what you need." I replied, with a smirk. If I remember correctly, they needed a boundary spell to trap Katherine. "You want to trap the wench away from the humans and then stake her, right?"
"We can isolate her, away from the others. Please, Bonnie." He replied, giving me pleading looks.
"It's fine, just next time don't be a bitch peaches. If you want something from me, tell me what it is, don't demand I show up here with my grimoire." I replied, before turning to look at the rest of the people in the room.
" Are you sure you guys don't want me there tonight?" Alaric asked. In my opinion, he should come, he's the most experienced hunter in this group and we're dealing with a five hundred year vampire.
"No, I need you to stay with Elena. I don't want her to know about this." Stefan replied, and I rolled my eyes, of course, precious Elena. I'm pretty sure she's going to get linked to Kitty Kat and suffer some damage tonight. Oh well, I got nothing to do with that.
"Okay. Well, I'll make sure she doesn't leave my sight." Ric replied, and I almost wanted to laugh. It's like we're talking about a five-year-old child that needs babysitting. I'm pretty sure that's a valid description tho. "Alright, if anybody wants to back out, I'll understand." Stefan said and looked around." Yeah. Cold feet speak now. I don't want this going wrong if someone chicken's out." Damon also intervened, looking at Care. "Caroline?""I won't. Look, she threatened my mom. I'm down with it as long as there's no werewolf running around." The blonde replied, sharing a look with me. She knows I know the future, she knows if I'm doing this pro-bono it's because I should. "Oh, I took care of Mason." Damon replied with a smirk."As long as Tyler doesn't kill anyone, he won't turn." Jeremy said. I mentally remembered that Tyler was going to kill some chick tonight, but again ... nothing to do with me. I also mentally wondered where Annie Fangy was since Jer was here alone. Pretty sure Anna and Pearl would like to also kill Kat, she did betray them and left Pearl stuck in a tomb. Too bad they weren't invited to this party. "Bonnie? Are you with us?" Stefan asked, glancing at me.
"Sure, pro-bono literally means 'for the public good' which my sure we can all agree fits this situation perfectly." I replied with a grin.
"Tonight Katherine gets a stake through her heart." Damon declared.
Let's get this party started.
