《How To Train Your Giant (DNF)》Ch 19 - The Visit

"I heard your mother is going to visit your giant?" Phil smiled as George was pacing around nervously
: She is!
: All you need to do is make sure Dream stays calm
: He trusts me, but I don't know about this
: Just let him know it's your mother
: After I told him she was involved in a war that killed his parents? No
: Just...tell him she's like you
: He can smell a lie
: For real?
: Literally
The queen stepped in as Phil bowed. "No need, Phil," she said softly as she walked up the stairs and noticed the giants all purred and were at the door of their cages
"Good morning!" she coos as they all purred and she began to pet them. "My personal favorite is him," she said as she petted the one in white
"Punz?" George questioned as he noticed Punz purring by her touch. "Yes! He may be the rough one, but he's a beautiful one! His clothing so pure in white, even though he's been in the arena and has blood on him."
"Weird," Phil mumbled as George agreed. Nikita went down as she gave a nod. "Oh! I must go real quick!" George said as he ran into the forest
He found the trench and was about to find the tunnel, but was tackled by someone. "I see you have been coming here often!"
George noticed a blonde male. "Tommy?!" The boy just laughed, "Hell yeah, bitch! I want to know your secrets! You have been able to defeat those giants! I want to know how!"
George pushed him off as he rushed away from the trench. As he ran further, he noticed the familiar ropes from weeks, no, months ago
It was the same rope trap Dream was tangled in. He heard Tommy following him as George went into the other side of the trap and hid in the trees

"Oh, George!" Tommy called as he held his ax and swung at the trees. George climbed down from a tree and went back
He found the dip where he had caught Dream and found the hidden tunnel. He went inside and made it to the sanctuary
He was catching his breath and noticed Dream was on his back, basking in the sun as he moved side to side like a cat, enjoying the heat
"Dream!" he called as the giant crawled to him and nuzzled. "Stop!" George giggled as he stared into his emerald eyes
"My mom wants to meet you, and I got scared, but, do you trust me when I say she is just as friendly as I am?"
"Of course I do, Georgie. If she won't react like the others, it is ok for me to meet her," Dream said as George smiled and hugged from his cheek
Dream purred and watched the prince run out of the tunnel. George looked around as he heard Tommy coming over
He dashed out as he heard him yell, "I see you, George! You may be our prince, but to me, you're just an apprentice like the others!"
George ran towards his castle, where his mother was waiting. She noticed George went behind her as Tommy stopped
"What's the meaning of this?" she asked as Tommy bowed, "I'm sorry, Your Majesty, but I caught George sneaking out of the forest."
: I know the answer to that
: Why?
: He prepared a nice gift for me!
: Y-Y-Yeah! A picnic!
: A mother and son bonding time. I told George I would like to do it in the forest, and so he did
: My apologies
: It's ok. I must go. George, lead the way, and Tommy? Make sure no one follows us

: *excited* What an honor! I will, my queen
Tommy watched the royals walk towards the forest as he stayed at the edge, making sure no one enters
"Thanks, mom!" George sighed as he led her towards the trench. "This was made by him?" she asked as George nodded, "He tumbled here and well, landed here."
He showed her the rope net, which was old, but it showed it was cut. "You freed him by your own," she whispered as George nodded and took her into the secret tunnel
"This is our personal and private sanctuary," George said as his mother was awed by the view. The pond crystal clear, the rock walls smooth, pine trees trimmed, and the ground was a mix of stone, soft low grass, and a bit of gravel and sand
"George, this is beautiful!" she said as she looked at her son. He rubbed the back of his neck, "This was actually made by Dream. He does this when bored or wants to clean up the place."
At mentioning Dream, the green eyed giant stepped out from his hiding spot. The mother gasped as she stared deeply into his eyes
"George, he's magnificent!" she said as she extended her hand and walked towards the giant. He sniffed and got closer as she finally touched his silky nose
He purred and nudged her with his head as she giggled. "He's part animal, and I must say, he is the Healer, aren't you?" she looked up at Dream as he nodded
"I am Queen Nikita, but you can call me Nikita or Niki, don't say queen," she said as the giant bowed, which surprised her by his action
"It's an honor to meet the queen, and mother of George," Dream smiled. George blushed and covered his face as his mother laughed
: How come you're so mannered?
: My parents taught me
: How sweet! I'm so sorry for your loss. It was my husband who killed them
: I see
: His name's Wilbur, and even though he hates giants, I believe he still has some heart for them
: *mumbling* Wilbur
: Mom, the sun is setting
: Alright, goodbye, Dream
: Goodbye, Nikita, and Georgie
: Not in front of her!
: *laughs*

Displacement
or, Deux Navires Passant dans la Nuit If you wake up in a new world, with only your memories of home to guide you, you have to trust the first people you meet. The first people Leah meets seem to know her - but not her. Leah is thrust into a fighter's role that does not quite suit her, and those who 'rescued' her do their best to help her fit in. They hint at a world that Leah can only vaguely understand without serious research and exploration, but how to do that research, when everyone believes her to be a local of this place, and too many questions might draw unwanted attention? And what about home? The more Leah learns about this world, the less she believes that she woke up on the right side of the bed - or more accurately, on the right side of the conflict. With magic being strictly regulated in her current "home," maybe it's time to uproot and look for a new set of allies... -- Displacement is a queer / lgbt bodyswap isekai: Leah Armande falls out of a Quebecois city into an unfamiliar fantasy world, and Leah Talesh falls out of her adventuring party's homeland and into an unfamiliar industrial world. The story follows both women as they navigate their new surroundings, trying at times to find a way home, at times just to pass for a local, and at times to actually make a life for themselves in their new world. Expect in-depth politics and worldbuilding, sapphic moments, foibles, and far too much time spent either in libraries or convalescing (or sometimes both).

Disclaimer / Author’s note: I’m writing this story purely as something to do. If you choose to read it, I’m glad, but it’s certainly more written for my own enjoyment than anyone else’s, so… sorry if it’s not for you. With that, do be gracious with me, as well as offer whatever helpful criticisms you might have. I’d be much obliged. Enjoy!
