I checked the time on my watch for the fifth time in five minutes. The flight from California had arrived but it had been ten minutes since passengers started to come out too. I glanced at the door but still no sign of the person I was waiting for.

God where was she?

Somehow waiting here didn't bother me a bit. Maybe it was because of the person I was waiting for. It was eight p.m and she was supposed to be here at 7:45 but the way I've known her all my life she wouldn't be out here without causing a scene.

"Hey you can't take that, it's mine!" The familiar voice echoed as all eyes turned to the person in black jeans and white turtleneck and raisin coat being dragged out by security guard.

"I will sue you all!, you don't know who my father is you fat cow!" She threatened as the guard put her down and went back inside without looking back. The auburn red hair came in my view as I eyed Rachel. She scoffed and cursed loudly before turned around and her expressions switched to a child who just got her favorite candy.

"Nate!" Rushing, she jumped on as I held her before tackling both of us on ground. Standing up both of us then hugged like a normal person.

Rachel Scott 5'5 red hair, slender body with a short tempered. My childhood friend and the person who I got grew up with or you'd say spent most my time with.

She was sweet but little bit psycho too but who cares, instead of being her saviour, she was mine. Kids around our town used to hate her for being so protective of me.. me being all naive.

"So what did you do now?" I questioned folding my arms over my chest inspecting her.

"Why do you think it was me who did something," She huffed her hairs from her face before corrected her coat.

"I've known you all my life Rach. I've been waiting for fifteen minutes and the way you've been escorted out shows the reason why you came out late but wanna explain?" I raised my brow to her to which she turned to the security guard and without even being afraid of anyone gave him a middle finger.

"What? so you're saying it was all because of your favorite perfume? Seriously?" I snapped with disbelief as we sat in this cafe at some distance from airport.

"You think my perfume ain't worth fighting? It was so cheap, I got it from discount and that fat cow with mustache took it from me like what the hell!" She explained as she slapped her palm on the table gaining the stares of people around.

"Okay can you calm down now. I'll buy you a new one but don't forget that you gave that guy your pretty one," I gestured to her middle finger to which she smiled proudly.

Damn I couldn't tell how the air conditioners suddenly weren't working cause I felt a lot hot then just by her sweet smile.

Get a grip Nate!

"And he can go fuck himself with that," She made a gun with her two fingers and blew it off. "You tell how have you been? How's school going? Oh my God I remember your tournament must be coming too!"

She continued without a brake without a breathe. In return I only chuckled. She had been always like that. It never mattered where we were or what was happening around us. It was always her and her sparkling doe eyes and those plumpy lips shaping as she talked so excitedly.

"So when are you gonna join?" I asked as I took a sip of my ice tea opposite of her vanilla latte. She had been obsessed with it since forever.

She was here as a assistant worker in my school. Though she was my age she was never interested in what others had always chose. She was more attracted towards Art. So our Art teacher needed an assistant worker who would help him and she told me that she applied thought she could learn something from him too while working with him.

Damn!

"Next Monday I guess, I'm staying at a hotel, if that roommate of yours wouldn't be staying with you I would've," She made a disgusted face as she mentioned Jay, my roommate.

"Okay miss mocha." I chuckled at her latte mustache and also at her perplexed expressions. My hand reached her face and wiped it with my thumb.

What I didn't want to see were her blushed cheeks cause every time it happened it made my heart ache seeing her crushing me more and more. She was bold exactly like Gwen. Though Rachel hadn't met anyone in my friend circle. She has lived with her family back with mine in California.

We have done everything together and throughout these past year she gained feelings for me which no matter how much I tried I couldn't reciprocate and it did hurt me cause in this world if there's something I knew very well, it was unrequited love.

"Nate? Where did you go? Let's go we are getting late," Standing up and taking her raisin purple coat from the back of her seat, she stood up.

"Jay left last month so it's just me and you're staying with me till you're here. I'm not letting you stay alone at some freaking hotel, knowing your parents gave you permission to come here as I assured them to take care of you cause our families have known each other for so long," I ordered and stood up to leave but she stood calmly, head tilted watching me with a knowing grin on her face.

"Possessive much," She walked over to me with a smug look before leaned in and scoffed sending shiver down my spine. "And you say you don't love me, nonsense."

This was how she was all playful around specially me. It wasn't like I didn't like her but now the way I wanted someone else to like me too and that was the ugliest side of love.

"Oh my God! You should've seen your face grizzly bear. I was kidding, I clearly remember what you said about us. Now can we leave, I'm fucking hell tired and that fat cow not only wasted my ten minutes but took my favorite perfume too," Her voice came out all cheerful and ended all dead and grating.

"And what was that, I'll sue you, you don't know who my father was?" I queried poking my cheek from inside. "Who knows your father? Who are you, daughter of some rich businessman?"

She hushed me and came stood so close as our chest were almost touching. Her face went to my ear and my breathe hitched.

"You know I'm not a daughter of some rich businessman, I know I'm not a daughter of some rich businessman," She pulled back all serious faced and damn her serious expressions could scare more than any ghost.

"So?" I asked.

"But he doesn't know that stupid," She flickered her finger on my forehead in disbelief. "You're still so naive?"

She shook her head with a tsk before went out leaving me in deep thoughts in what just happened. I looked around and found people staring at me so weirdly.

"Come on I'm tired Nate. Let's sleep!" She shouted and my face flushed with embarrassment as I bowed, apologizing. Not that she said something wrong but it did mean something It should've never.

That whining of being tired was all until we left the cafe cause the second I started my car her gossips started and continued till we reached my apartment and I did shouted for her to stay quite but she just laughed out loud.

I started radio thought that it'd make her quite and whole hell of God instead of peace, the next twenty minutes were hell as she sang on top of her lungs.
