The arena was reverberating with fan chant of our team name as the game was a minute shy to start. Everyone was already seated on bleachers having boards in their hands up in air with different drawings on them, supporting their teams.

Dad was sitting on one and waving at me with his glasses tucked to his nose. Leo was by his side, all hooting for everyone but mostly for his girlfriend.

Cute.

That moment all I wished was Blake. Only if he could be here for his sister but unfortunately he couldn't. I couldn't even call him because of his security. Only he'd do that.

Being an FBI agents sucks!

I sighed sadly.

Looking around I found Gwen's parents there as her mom who was beautifully dressed in a long coffee coat and shimmery olive studs blew a kiss to her daughter who jumped and caught it and placed it to her heart.

Wished Mom would be here.

Shifting my gaze a little to the front my eyes cut to none other Ethan's dad who stiffly sat there crossed leg alone. Even being the chief guest, he wasn't the center of attention.

I chuckled.

Looking beside him, the seat to his left was empty.

My eyes furrowed.

Where was Aunt Jane?

I searched around but Aunt Jane was no where in sight. How could she be not here? She had always not only encouraged us but also showed deep interest in ice hockey.

Maybe she went to the rest room.

I took a deep breathe and sluggishly skated to Ethan who was about to wear his helmet. He and I hadn't talk since Friday.

"Hey! Aunt Jane didn't come?"

After dropping everyone home safely. He dropped me but didn't wait another second and drove off leaving me cold with shivering soul.

I looked up to him but he didn't reply. Even he didn't acknowledge my existence. His phone has been switched off since the day. I went to his house but no one answered.

Weird I know.

I didn't stop though, just when he entered the arena today, I've been trying to talk to him but like he was ignoring me.

Might be stressing over today's game... I knew. His eyes were stone hard. Before he could skate off from me I held his forearm.

"Ethan...what is it?, why are you suddenly behaving like this?" I queried, tried to hold my heart to it's normal pace.

Unhooking my arm from his, he looked around before answered in cold tone.."Ask yourself that," With that he was gone to others who were huddled around for the chant.

What?

Thinking about his words my mind completely went off from game to Friday night and back to each and every day we had shared. Still I had no idea what he meant and what did I do.

"Aria come here!" Coach implored one last time. We all had decided it to pay our respect to our lost star Bethany Smith by this game, so it was for her.

Standing closely we all outstretched our hands over each others in the center of us before shouted.

"2, 3 Go Riders!"

Skating around we all took our positions. Ethan was at center, his body bent a little forward. His posture was dominant, facing off with the captain of The Falcons Charlie who had a smirk fucked to his face while Ethan had no expressions.

I was on his right wing while Max on his left. Gwen was the only defender in the back with Nate, our goalie all set ready.

And right then.

Referee dropped the puck but out of context Charlie hit the puck and was dominating it before he passed to his mate. I went after her but that guy passed it to the blonde who dodged Ethan before crisscrossed it with Gwen and hit it straight in the goal.

The students of West view high hollered with enthusiasm as the buzzer went off with red light, giving them lead with 1-0 displayed on board.

The rink was not too big neither too small.

Taking a deep I shrugged off as Nate nodded and held his gloved hand straight against the goal pole after adjusted his helmet.

Ethan had always been more concentrated in his game than anything else. Him missing the face off was unusual for everyone. The whistle echoed and we played again.

This time Max had the puck. He tried to miss it by all means making it look like he accidently missed it but Gwen even being the defender took it from him. I knew he was the mole for sure. He'd never let us win.

Dick.

Skating to the side, avoiding the off-side Gwen passed it to Ethan who cleanly took the puck on his stick before circled the rivals net in a swift and passed me the Puck, sensing Max's mind and didn't give it to him.

Blocking my path The Falcons tried to tripped me but I had the puck on my stick and then with all my strength,

I hit it.

And missing by the edge of rivals skate blade, it was a strike.

We goaled!

The crowd of Raven wood High, cheered up screaming. I almost tripped as Gwen hugged me so tight with Nate.

This feeling was indescribable.

'You did it Aria' Beth's voice echoed in my head as if she was watching me.

I wholeheartedly smile and high five them before they went back to their positions. As the rink cleared out of my sight and I saw Ethan who stood there, before he rolled his eyes, breathed out harshly and skated away.

"Aria! That was amazing! Yes we have got this!" I turned around to Leo's cheer and saw him giving me thumbs up behind the glass wall. Sitting beside him I didn't miss the proud smile dad had on his face.

After 2-twenty minutes rounds, it was still 1-1. Only five minutes had left in the third half. The Falcons tried so many times but Nate did his best to stop the puck.

Controlling our breathes I took the bottle, squeeze it to drink some water and wiped the sweaty foreheads before wore my helmet again. Others did the same.

Taking our positions again, the Falcons took the lead again.

Shit!

Missing us on our way the blonde Falcon went straight to our goal. Just when I though she would go off-side, she passed it to Charlie who took it and had his stick in air to shot but not until Ethan stole it and slid under his arms to the other side.

Damn! My man.

I smiled and hurriedly went to opposite side for him to pass me. The other team chased us and in no time their defender was in front. I passed the look to Ethan and gestured to my right hand lower, hidden from other and nodded. Taking my signals he did as I signalled him.

Making a fool of everyone who were waiting for the left shot I skate around the goal and hit the puck but somehow it missed the goal with an inch by corner.

Oh No!

Everyone stood up in slow motion, when there was only two second left and Ethan pushed his stick forward and made the puck in the goal.

Buzzer went off.

It was a strike.

We won! We fucking won!

Raising my hand holding the stick, I slid straight in Ethan's arms before Gwen and Nate joined us. The loud cheers were deafening. The loudest and happiest screams I've ever heard.

Kissing on the trophy coach took it from me with him and walked out of arena to put it in the office. That precious glistened tears of joy in his eyes made me feel so high up in the air.

Beth must be happy too.

"I can't wait for the after party!" Gwen said with a hoot in air as Leo came and kissed the hell out of her. Nate had Rachel hugged by his side all shy.

Guess the trip turned out good for them. Rachel told me and Gwen earlier that things were good between them.

"Yes we should go, You kids deserve some fun," Dad who was hugging my side, tightened his hold, passing me his look of how proud he was.

"Some fun? No uncle we deserve a whole hell of a fun tonight!" Gwen cackled. Her vocals not coming down any minute, making us all chuckled.

Sobering up looking around I didn't find Ethan anywhere in arena. "Let's go then!" Rachel inspirited, showing her perfect smile and kissed Nate's cheek.

People were exiting the arena after congratulating us. Max was gone and by the look on coach Lee's face, he knew his negative attitude.

My phone buzzed in my jeans pocket as I halted in way to see Ethan's text.

I smiled as I knew why his needy self wanted me alone. Maybe he was angry because how how we got interrupt in our moment back that night.

"Uh..Guys?" I interrupted looking up. "I have to do something, I'll meet you all at home with Ethan."

They all looked at me like I had grown two heads before burst out laughing.

"Just say Ethan wanted to have you alone!" Leo mocked as I glared at him looking at dad embarrassed.

Dad caressed my hairs in a soft way. "Don't get in trouble and be home soon," I nodded when Nate added amusingly. "Yeah we won't start our party without our star of the night."

I rolled my eyes at him and bit my lip to hide my biggest smile and also that I couldn't wait to meet my lover boy.

"I'll see you guys soon, bye!" They disappeared from the front gate while I took the back one, turned to right to all the way to the back.

The cold air hit me like a harsh slap on my face. I was now all dressed up in my usual attire.

Jeans and white shirt with the coat Ethan gave me.

Scrutinizing nearby in the dark fog, my eyes squinted before I found big broad shoulders giving away a dark silhouette under the dull post lamp.

Ethan.

I cheekily smiled before sprinted off to him and back hugged him, smelling his cold black leather jacket.

"So you had this angry bird face for this. You should've told me. I got so scared."

His posture was rigid and still had his back to me when he spoke. "Well you should be, shouldn't you?"

His voice which I love to hear, which was like a song came out somehow all wrong to me.

Backing off him, he turned around, his hands stuffed in his pocket. There was no usual playful grin but emptiness.

"What?" My brows furrowed with a confused smile plastered on my face. The silence made me wrap my hands around me.

"It's enough I think," He sighed and checked his invisible watch on his wrist.

My brows drowned more in perplexity.

"Enough? What are you saying Ethan? Forget it, Let's go now everyone's waiting for us at home," I tucked on his arm to pulled him but he didn't budge instead pushed me hard that I fell on snowy ground not expecting it.

Ow!

A whimper left my mouth as my elbow hit the pavement, shooting a sharp current all over my body. I caressed it, tears dwelled in my eyes, not believing he did that.

Kneeling down at my level he dusted his jacket off like my touch made it dirty before spoke.

"Don't touch me again!" He warned.

My breathing immediately slowed because I could feel the tension in the air, the sudden increase in heat, the implication of his words.

"W-hat are-

"Let's come to the point, I don't have time for this shit? Are you really that dumb to fell for the game I planned?" He looked at his shoes before stood up and gazed me with a sinister smile taking over his expressions.

Game? Today's game?

He tilted his head sideways and chuckled like he read my thoughts. His smile which was no was near innocent. My heart was sinking deeper towards death.

"W-hat gam-e?" My voice came out as a weakest whisper, still sitting on the freezing concrete. Tears welled up in my eyes, and my bottom lip quivered because those words hit me with unexpected pain.

I didn't want to admit what my mind was making me believe. It'd be a prank I know. Yes.

"The game I played all along with you baby," He said as I stood up stumbled, holding my injured elbow before he took a step forward and leaned in my ear and whispered, making my blood turned cold. "The game of breaking you after taking you high Aria williams, remember?"
