It was a dark winter night. You sat next to Severus your teeth chattering slightly.

"Cold?" he asked. You nod your head.

Severus with a flick of his wand lit the fire and got up, bringing back a thick dark blanket which he wrapped around the both of you.

"Would you like me to read you something?" he asked soothingly. You nodded as he took a book from a pile.

He started to read. His soft deep voice lulling you to sleep gently. Your head was rested on Severus' lap and he gently stroked your hair.

Suddenly you were taken by Suprise as he started to gently sing. It was a gentle lullaby which made you even more sleepy. Soon you had fallen asleep on his lap.

Severus smiled gently at you and carried on singing. It made him sad. The song which he sang was sung by his mother to him as a child. This song ran through his head when he was at his weakest. It kept him going.

Kissing your head he soon falls asleep on the sofa.

The gentle fire crackled and it danced, casting shadows onto the wall as you slept.
