《Why Dont You Love Me?》Chapter 20

Ryan's POV
As I stood before the ginormous crowd in front of me, I couldn't help but to wonder what was missing. Yeah, sure I had everything I could ever want. Hot Chelle Rae's second album will be released soon, we've been touring for the past three months, we've made new friends. And then it hit me. I am a fucking idiot. And I don't mean, idiot as in I can fix the mistake I made. No, I mean idiot as in this mistake could never be fixed. I lost the one girl I could ever truly care about; Megan. I lost her. I know I did and nothing I can do or say probably will ever bring her back. I sighed quietly as I drank the rest of my water before continuing the show. The microphone in front of me seemed to shiine, letting me know it was ready for my voice. I grinned, pressing my lips up to the cool metal.
"How's everyone doing tonight?" I nearly yelled. Th crowd screamed as I looked over to Nash who was smiling as well. I laughed a bit before looking back at the crowd.
"We've had an amazing time here in California and I am so sad to say this is our second to last song of the night. This next and last song is on our new album which we recorded with the lovely Demi Lovato, and it has a lot meaning to me. It's kind of like when you love someone so much but knowing they don't love you back, kills you a bit. But it could have other meanings depending on who you are/ I really hope you enjoy it." I finished. The music started playing as I walked slightly over to Nash then took a deep breath in and held the microphone up to my mouth. The words seemed to escape my mouth almost effortlessly as I pranced around the stage. I looked at the signs in the crowd, ran my hand down at the hands of the fans and dropped to my knees as I hit the last note in Demi's part, finishing the song out. I got up slowly and smiled. I put the microphone back into the stand and pulled a piece of paper out of my pocket. Pursing my lips, I looked over at Nash. He walked over to me slowly and nodded, whispering a slight do it. I picked my guitar up, and nodded to Jamie and Ian.

I smiled as the newly firmilar sound of the music started to play. The fans got a bit of a confused face, but I just smiled and waited for the cue.
Catch my flight 6 AM gunna be gone til who knows when. Here I go.
Squeeze you tight one last time. Use my shirt, to dry your eyes. Gotta let go.
When I'm gone all the nights are so long, but we gotta hold on, on. on.
Days go by. Yeah I always got you on my mind oh cause I keep you with me.
I say your name though I can't touch you but it feels the same. Oh, I gotta keep you with me.
Oh, Oh, oh..
I still smell like your perfume. Damn, I wish you were in this room in my bed.
I toss and turn as I try to dream. Our love plays out like a movie scene in my head. Oh yeah
Days go by. Yeah I always got you on my mind oh cause I keep you with me.
I say your name though I can't touch you but it feels the same. Oh, I gotta keep you with me.
Oh, oh, oh, oh..
When I'm gone all the nights are so long but we've gotta hold on, on, on..
Catch my flight 6 AM one last stop then I'm home again.
Here I go..
Days go by. Yeah I always got you on my mind oh cause I keep you with me.
I say your name though I can't touch you but it feels the same. Oh, I gotta keep you with me.
We finished the song up on a postitve note, throwing our guitar pics to the crowd and watching them go wild. We said our goodbyes and walked off of the stage as I tried to keep myself from crying. I took my leather jacket off and quickly doused myself with water. Nash and Ian ran up to me.
"Ryyy!" Ian said. "Can you tell us now why that song is so important to you?"
"Which one?" I asked with a shrug.
"The last one we did," Nash said. "Please tell us!"
"Oh," I shrugged once more, sighing. "Megan wrote it for me. I asked her for her help with a song and she gave me that one.." I smiled a bit. Nash smiled before he nudged me, shaking his head.

"Why haven't you called her?"
"It's been a few months." I replied.
"So?"
"So..?"
"Call her!" He said laughing.
"Nash, she's probably moved on by now. I need to go the same."
"No, you don't.." Nash said sighing. Ian frowned as Jamie walked up to me.
"We have some news," They said in unison. I frowned a bit as my eyes creased together.
"What?" I asked.
"Cameron called and there's been an accident.." Ian said. "Megan and Liz are severely hurt." He finished with a sigh. My eyes widend to about to the size of saucers before I started to laugh.
"Nice one guys! Now really, what's the news?"
"The is the news, Ryan.." Jamie said as he held out a piece of paper to me. I took the paper gently and read the small wording that was on it.
My eyes filled with tears almost instantly as I saw Megan's picture to the side. I looked up at Nash and Ian, wiped my eyes quickly and ran out of the building.
"Ryan!" I heard them call after me. I didn't stop though. I ran all the way down to the airport, the boys intact. I quickly brought myself up to the counter, almost crashing into it.
"Excuse me, miss?" I asked breathlessly. "I need a plane ticket to Nashville. Now."
"Sir," She said politely. "We're sold out."
"No," I said. "You don't understand. I need that plane ticket!"
"Sir, I'm terribl--"
I cut her off, shaking my head. "Please? I don't care if I have to take cargo."
She sighed, nodding slightly. "Fine. I'll help you. But if I get fired, I'm blaming you."
I nodded. She quickly pulled up some information, and printed out a ticket.
"The plane leaves in 10. GO." She shoved the ticket into my chest. I quickly looked at it and found the gate, giving the flight attendant my ticket and running on without saying bye to my friends. They can catch a plane in the morning, right? I took a seat by the window and pulled my phone out. Looking at the time, I sighed. It was about 1 AM there. I looked out of the window, and bit my bottom. The plane took off almost instantly, not even giving me enough time to even buckle up.
By the time we landed in Nashville, it was about 2:30. I hopped off of the plane quickly, walked outside and grabbed a taxi. I told him the directions to the hospital and waiting anxiously as he drove.
"You look a bit frantic, son. Everything okay?" The man asked.
"Hm? Oh yeah, I guess. My girl- I mean, my friend is in the hospital. She was in a really bad car accident the other day."
"Ah, I hope she gets better." He said. "But can I ask you something?"
"What?"
"You seem a man of high class nature, what brings you to Nashville?"
"I'm from here, actually." I said with a smile. "Plus, she lives here and I.. I love her. I didn't tell her this enough but I did and I still do."
The man smiled at me in the rear view mirror and pulled into the parking lot, stopping infront of the hospital. I paid him off and ran inside. I ran up to the counter, panting and trying to catch my breath.
"Hell--"
"Megan Mace." I said, whining. "Where is she?"
"ICU, 23."
I quickly ran up to ICU, found room 23 and hesitated a bit before walking in. What if I can't do this? What if I fail? I sighed and rubbed my face and walked in. There in the bed, sat a Megan who was wide awake. I sighed a bit of relief, seeing that she only had a few cuts and bruises, and some stitches in her head.
I smiled a bit before stopping at the end of the bed.
"How are ya?" I asked. She managed a smile back before shrugging her shoulders.
"I've been better. You?"
"I'm glad that you're okay! I've been worried sick."
"You have..?" She asked softly.
"Of course I have, Megs.. Why wouldn't I?"
"Well.. Uhm.." She said shrugging.
I sighed. "Look, I'm sorry for what I did.."
"What..?" She asked, half confused.
"Kissing the other girl." I said, blinking.
"Hm.." She said. "That's funny, because I don't even know you.."

Who Fixes Books Anyway?
On the pretense of a raise, the relatively new employee Pernie is called in to talk with her superiors. NOTE: This is a short story written for a class I took recently. As a result of deadlines, it does not possess the quality (or length) that I would like and is rather thrunkated. Perhaps sometime far in the furture I'll fix it up. For now, I have much more important things to work on, such as my other fiction.
