The Only One
Chapter 14
Ryan
Today, Hanna is hanging out with Megan and Liz. I'm super happy that the girls clicked because we are with them a lot, seein' is Cam is dating Liz, but we've known the girls for a little while now and they're totally awesome.
The girls' birthday is November 21st, and that's the day we're playing at Six Flags with them. We're going to play a mix of the their songs and surprise them for their birthday.
Right now, me, Nash, Ian, and Jamie are all at the studio. We're trying to get our schedule figured out and everything.
"Alright, guys, do you think we should start rehearsing yet?" I ask, getting frustrated with all the dates of our shows.
"Yeaah, why don't we try I Wish?" Nash suggests. The only person that knows the exact meaning behind that song is Jamie. The others just think it was something that I randomly came up with.
"Sure, let's go." I reply and get the microphone set up.
"If I could wish anything, close my eyes and count to three. All I want is you you you, all I need is you you you.
You're like the pot of gold, at the end of the rainbow! All I want is you you you, all I need is you you you!
And I could give you the world tonight, we could do anything you like, if you weren't with himmmm!
I wish I knew before I knew that someone else was loving you girl, I wish it could've been me, damn, girl I wish it could've been me! One more thing before you go, I just gotta let you know girl, I wish it could've been me, damn girl I wish it could've been me,"
I sing until we finish the song. I have to say, it sounds amazing. We really have mastered that song.
"Guys, that was awesome!" Ian exclaims.
"I cannot wait to perform that at concerts," Jamie says.
"You know, Ryan, this question has been tugging at my tongue ever since I heard the song, is it about Monica?" Nash asks.
"If you guys must know, it was about Hanna."
"Hanna...?" Ian and Nash ask in unison, with scrunched up noses and shocked expressions plastered on their faces.
"Yes. I never told you guys, but I walked in on Hanna watching a movie with her brother, but I immediately jumped to conclusions that it was a guy she was interested in, and I wrote this song about it..." I explain.
"Oh..." Nash says.
"I'm so sorry, Ryan. I remember that week that you didn't talk to her. You were a total wreck and I had no idea why, and as much as I tried, I could never get myself to ask why. I'm sorry you had to go through that." Ian says. He always knows what to say.
"Thanks, Ian. I'm just glad she knows how I feel now, and everything is alright."
"And everything is going to work out prefect, and you're going to be the it couple, and you're going to get married, and have kids, and live happily ever after!" Jamie says, playfully, sounding just like a little girl.
"That is if you actually decide to tell the public..." Nash mutters.
"We're just waiting for the right time! Hanna isn't used to the fame and everything and I just don't want her to get hate and everything. I just don't know if she can take it."
"Oh yes, and she'll get so much hate because people just love you so much!" Jamie jokes with an eye roll.

"I'm serious, Jamie. I honestly don't know if she could handle it." I explain.
"Ry, she could already be getting it. There are bound to be pictures of her with us out there somewhere and so many people already assume you two are dating anyway." Ian adds.
"I guess so."
"Well I think you should tell her about the song you wrote herrr!" Nash says in a sing song tone.
"Well, maybe I will. Hey, where's our show tonight?" I ask.
"It's at The Grove actually." Jamie says.
"Oh, I totally thought that was tomorrow. Whoops. So that means we're on Extra tonight then? So we have to be at The Grove in...3 hours???" I screech.
"Sí!!" Nash yells.
"Well, let's get going then! Then play through our setlist now, and then we can pick up Han. Cam and Chuck can meet us there."
"Sure, sure." Ian says, as they start to play the beginning to Beautiful Freaks.
We play through our whole set list, and then we drive to Hanna's house to pick her up.
She slowly opens the door, and jumps into the car so we can get to The Grove.
The taping of Extra starts at 3:15, and our show is at 6.
"Hey, Ry, you know that song I Wish? Are we playing that tonight?" Ian asks randomly, obviously saying, 'tell Hanna now!'
"Oh, um, yeah, we will." I say.
"I Wish, huh?" Han asks.
"Mhm, we just recorded it today." I say.
"Can I hear it?" She asks.
"Uh, sure..." I say, and put the recording I have on my phone.
She really seems to listen to what it's saying, and when the songs over, she says, "Hm, I like it! So, Ryan, who's the special girl?" Then she smirks.
"Well...you know...just in general... I thought... A lot of people could... Relate to it." I say. She raises her eyebrows as if she doesn't believe what I told her. "Okay fine, Han, the truth is, this song is about you..." I say, finally.
"Me..?" She asks with confusions written all over her face.
"Yes... Well, remember when I walked in on you and your brother that night?" I ask, and she nods. "Well, I immediately jumped to the conclusion that he was your boyfriend, and I got kind of jealous, and well, then I wrote that song..."
"Oh my gosh, Ryan! That's so cute!" She says, smiling. I kinda just shake it off, not exactly knowing what to say. "I have to say something too. Those couple days when you all weren't here, I wrote a song." She admits.
My eyes literally bulge out of my head. "You whaaaat??? I've been trying to get you to write a song for ages, and now you're just telling me you've already written one?"
"Yes...?" She says.
"Can we hear it?" I ask eagerly.
"Sure... I have it recorded in my phone..." She says kind of nervously, as she plugs the phone into the car's speakers.
The song is called Come Back to California and she's singing it.
She sounds amazing- her voice literally makes my heart melt. That sounds kinda cheesy, doesn't it?
Some of the lyrics are:
"Come back to Cali, it sucks without you here,"
"The sun stopped shining,"
"The beach is empty, the skies are grey,"
"I miss you!"
And oh my gosh, it's so sweet!!
I can't believe she wrote that song for me...!

When the songs over, I say, "Oh my gosh, Hanna, that sounds fantastic!! I love it!!"
"Do you really?" She looks surprised. "That was just kind of random things I was thinking of that day."
"Seriously, I love it." I say and smile.
"Oh you two, get a room." Jamie jokes and I childishly stick my tongue out at him.
"So, Ryan, are Cam and Chuck coming to The Grove?" Hanna asks me.
"Yeah, I told them to meet us there." I say.
"Well actually, I told them to meet us there," Jamie says. "Don't go taking the credit for everything, brother."
"Sorry," I laugh. "Jamie told them to meet us there."
"Ah, okay." She says, looking like she's really thinking about something.
"But why, Hanna, are you asking about other guys when your boyfriend, Ryan, is right there?" Nash asks skeptically. Thanks Nash.
She giggles cutely and says, "Well, I just don't wanna be alone while you all are being interviewed." She says.
"Sure...." Nash replies, seeming to not believing what Han has said.
"Han, why don't you, Cam, and Chuck come with us during the interview?" Ian suggests, sounding a bit excited. Too excited.
"Ummm..." She manages to say. "I don't know, I don't wanna ruin the interview..."
I raise my eyebrows at her. "And how in the world would you ruin it?" I ask.
"I dunno, say the wrong thing..." She says.
"Hanna, you will not say the wrong thing! You're a part of our team now, and people deserve to know that." I say.
And Nash mutters, "Yes, a part of 'our team.' Don't you think it's time that people know?"
I look to Hanna. "I mean, it's only been a few days." I say.
"I'm fine with it if you wanna tell people during your interview." She says.
I look at her incredulously. Does she know exactly what she's getting herself into? "Are you sure about that?"
"Yeah, sure." She says.
"Okay, so now we just need to talk to Cam and Chuck." I tell the others.
"Ooh ooh! Okay! We call them up, and they'll be like whaaaaatttt! So then we just burst into song!" Jamie exclaims, sounding too excited about a stupid idea. But in the end, my little brother gets his way.
"Hello?" Chuck answers.
"SUP GIRL!!" We chorus.
"Huh?" He and Cam say at the same time.
"SHE'S A WEEKEND BEAUTY QUEEN WITH THE BLACK LIGHT CLUBS WEARIN OUT THE SCENE, YOU KNOW HER TYPE, OUT ALL NIGHT!!!
"STARRY EYED FOR THE DIRTY DREAM, ALWAYS LOOKING FOR THE PRINCE, WHERE THE CASH IS KING, IN THE BOULEVARD, IN A BIG BLACK CAR, SHE'S EVERYWHERE YOU ARE!!
"I SMELL HER SWEET PERFUME, MAKING ROUNDS AROUND THE ROOM CUZ SHE'S A DOWNTOWN GIRL!!" We continue, but get cut off by our dear friend Cameron.
At first he's just dying laughing but then he says, "What in the world are you guys doing?!" The five of us start laughing and then Cam says, "So let me guess, this was Jamie's idea?"
"Sí Señor!" Jamie replies.
"Oh god." Cam mutters. "So what's really up?"
"We were wondering, could we sort of change the interview tonight?" I ask.
"Change as in how?" Cam asks.
"Can you and Chuck and Hanna come out during the interview with us?"
"HECK YES!" He exclaims. He's been waiting for this day for a while.
"YES!" Jamie yells.
"But why the sudden change?" Cam asks.
"Well..." I begin. "BECAUSE I THINK THAT RYAN AND HANNA SHOULD TELL THE WORLD THEY'RE IN LURV!!!!!!!" Ian yells.
"Ah, so I see!" He says. "Okay, sounds good. And you're lucky I dressed nice tonight!" He jokes.
"Haha, okay Cameron, we'll see you when we get there."
"Okay, BYEEE!" Cam can be so weird sometimes.
***
During our interview, Mario and another women I've never seen ask us some random questions from fans and then questions about new music and albums.
"Well, we see that you brought along Chuck, Cam, and our new friend Hanna today and we were wondering, what are these people to you?" The other lady asks.
Nash gives me that, 'tell them!' look, "Well, Cam is like our maintenance guy. He helps with instruments and guitar picks and things like that. Chuck is our lighting manager. And lastly is Hanna. She doesn't have an exact role with us. She's at all of our shows with us and she's there for support. She's also a writer and she's written a few songs for us that are going to be on our next album." I explain.
"Okay, well, Hanna, we have a question for you." Mario says. "I think it's the question everyone wants to know. What's going on between you and Ryan? Are you two just best friends or are you something more?"
Hanna looks at me and answers with a smile, "Well, Ryan and I actually started dating a few days ago..."
"And there you have it everyone! Ryan Follese is no longer a single man!" Mario exclaims. "Well, congratulations you two!"
Hanna and I say a quick 'thanks' and then the other lady, who's name I figured out is Maria, (weird huh? Mario and Maria?) she asks Ian about Maggie.
"Maggie is great. She's not here with us today, but she and Hanna are both coming on the remainder of our tour with us." Ian says.
"Aw, well good luck to the both of you, and have a good show tonight!" Mario says, and closes the show.
For the next hour or so, we walk around The Grove, and honestly, to our benefit, not too many people recognize us.
Not that we don't love our fans, because believe me, we do, but sometimes, it's nice to just be able to go out and not be recognized.
By the time it's six o'clock and it's time for us to go out on stage, I give Hanna a quick kiss and then run out and start singing Beautiful Freaks.
The feeling you get when you're on stage is incredible. It can be incredibly nerve racking but the feeling you get when you have so many fans screaming along to your songs and yelling your name is indescribable.
My favorite part of the show is the last song: I Like It Like That.
I love being able to pull people up on stage. Their reactions to the fact that you've just called them up to sing with YOU makes me love what I do even more.

Hi! How'd you like the chapter? It's longer for Ryan's POV! I always have trouble writing from his POV, but this time everything was just wouldn't stop coming! ;) Was the ending too abrupt though?
Well, so last night, (it was actually October 6th, I wrote this a long time ago!) Ryan picked me to rap with them for the second time and omg it was amazing! I got to say hi to Cam and I met Jamie and Ian for the first time! I wanna say that Ryan recognized me, but I honestly can't be sure. It was the 3rd time I've met Ryan, but they meet so many people I just can't be sure. But I know for a fact that Nash recognized meee! ;) ah! It was so amazing! Nash and Ian both took my phone and started videoing with me!
So when I was writing about Ryan and how he feels on stage, it was KIND OF how I was feeling :) Although I had to change some of the feelings just a bit, cuz you know, I'm not a world famous singer, and people aren't coming to see me ;)
Hope you like the chap!!! :D

My class [Death Knight] is just barely legal...
Ever since meeting his uncle, Arthur has pushed himself daily to achieve an arbitrary goal. He trained like nobody else did, longer than anybody else could. He neglected his personal relationships to pursue something he didn't even understand, in hindsight. When the time came for his class awakening ritual, he was ready. He was ready to receive a powerful starting class and to break free from his boring lifestyle. Well, you know what they say, "Be careful what you wish for, lest your wish be granted." Arthur was assigned the death knight class, which is just barely, technically, maybe legal. With it, he learns about what drove him to such simple minded ambition in the first place: his affinity. Now, he's faced with a dilemma: will he embrace it, or reject it? 'My class [Death Knight] is just barely legal' is a laid back story with occasional tension, that describes Arthur, a young man, exploring the world, the system and his own mental health as he pursues his ambitions. This story is the first serious fiction I ever wrote, so while criticism is definitely welcomed, keep it polite. I'm going to rewrite the first few chapters at some point, since they're not as good as my later ones, but I'm focusing on my current chapters first. I don't have time to do both yet, since I'm also in the middle of my exams. What to expect from this story: -Litrpg elements -A chaotic good aligned protagonist (that starts off as a neutral good protagonist) -(Hopefully) interesting characters. What not to expect from this story: -Grimdark elements -Harem -An enslaved protagonist. (I mention this due to the background of the mc's class) Release schedule: 1 chapter every other day, 2pm European time (14:00) Join the discord here: https://discord.gg/YHZFB4HMHD

Musings of a Hypocrite
Mortals are weird. They insisted in unity, as well as individualism. More often than not, they're shocked at truth and honesty, but not at falsehood and deceit. They asked questions with multiple answers, and provided answers that begged other questions. They made things to break, they destroyed things to study, they researched things to recreate. Humans, Elves, Beastmen. All of them. Within these contradictions, a miracle might manifest. But this tended to work with a trial and error methodology. Most mortals never got the happy ending. This diary is my journey alongside a few students of mine. In simple terms - they learn, they grow, they fight. They'll journey through centuries of conflict, from the physical to the educational. They'll experience the cruelty and benelovence of all living-kind. They'll experience the consequences of their choices and the blessings of their rewards. They will grow to become useful to me, or die trying like all the others. As for you? The god reading our lives like a book, sitting in your chair without a care in the world? I will show you, the farce that is known as 'God'.
