《Taken》Chapter 43

"It's about Liam."
I leaned away from him when he said that. "What do you mean Liam? What's wrong with him?"
Adam shook his head, "there's nothing wrong with him."
"Then what is it?" I looked at him with concern and wonder.
"It may be nothing but I'm not quite sure. There's just something off about him and I don't know what. It's almost supernatural like but it's nothing I've ever seen before."
"What do you mean?" I was still lost but I think I knew where he was heading. I just wondered if he was thinking the same thing as me or if was just my imagination.
"Haven't you seen how fast he ran and the way the guards described him? They couldn't catch him and they are fast. And you said he jumped into the tree, correct?" When I nodded he continued, "well the closest limb to the ground was almost three times his height. You had trouble getting up into by yourself because it higher than you. You needed my help."
"So you're saying Liam's different," I stated.
"He is," Adam answered like it was a fact. Which it was.
"So, he's a supernatural creature. Could he be a werewolf?" It was entirely possible.
Adam shook his head. "No he's not a werewolf. That's for sure. I would smell it if he was. Plus he is too fast to be a werewolf child. Werewolf children are like human children in every way until they turn into a wolf when they mature. That's not until they are between fourteen and sixteen since we all mature at different rates. His smell just seems weird."
I raised an eyebrow in question. I knew werewolves had superior smell than humans but it was still weird to think that they could smell the scent of others and know what pack they belong or don't belong to or what species they are.
"Well then, what does he smell like?"
"That's the thing, this is where it gets weird. He smells like a human. There's something else though. If I wasn't half witch, I probably wouldn't detect that there is something else underneath but I can't get to it. It's like it's blocked off so all we can smell is human."

"How do you know it's your witch side that is causing you know there is something else?" This was getting really weird.
"Well, I knew he wasn't fully human and I asked others who came across him if they could smell anything else or something blocked but they couldn't. They all assume he is human."
"So do you have any idea what it is he might be?" If he wasn't human and he acted like he was supernatural, what could he be?
Adam shook his head, "nope, no idea. But I'm going to find out."
"I can help," I offered, "I also need to look to see if he has any relatives anywhere. He should go home to other family members he knows. And we need to figure out what happened to his parents."
Adam agreed. "Alright. You can help. You won't have much time, but you can help when you can."
"Sounds reasonable." Which it really was. I knew I was going to be busy and couldn't help out all the time but I would help where I could.
"What about Dylan and Lia? Will you get them to help?" We could use the extra help after all. Every little bit helps.
Adam shook his head. "No, I don't want them to get involved. They could possibly help in finding his other relatives but I don't want them to know about him being more than human."
I agreed. "Alright. I won't tell them." I sighed as I leaned back into him, resting my head on his chest. I knew we should probably get started on that right away but I didn't want to. I wanted to spend some time with Adam right here like this. It was peaceful.
Adam grabbed the remote and scrolled through Netflix. "What do you want to watch?"
I shrugged. "It doesn't matter to me."
He picked Reign, a TV show we both just started. I knew what was going to happen later in season three even though I was in season one. I knew I would be destroyed by what happens but I love the TV show to much. I would quit it right now because of it but as I said, I love it to much and I love the ending for the TV show.

I couldn't stop smiling and feeling giddy as Francis and Mary got married. It was my favorite moment of the entire show and knew it most likely will be for the entire series. It will be the one thing I will remember and always look back on.
We watched a couple episodes when it started getting dark. On my mind the entire time was Liam. I was worried for him and I kept watching out and listening for him. I decided I would go check on him after the episode we were currently watching was over. I stood up and stretched after telling Adam what I was doing. He let me go and I looked upon Liam as he slept in the bed.
He looked like an angel sleeping there, quite content. Once I was satisfied he was okay, I went and snuggled against Adam again and we watched the next episode.
About halfway through this, Liam came out of the room yawning and looking shaken. As soon as he saw me, he ran over and hugged me tight. Adam paused the show and I looked at Liam with worry.
"What's wrong Liam? Are you okay?"
He shook his head and climbed into my lap.
I stroked his head and back softly. "It's okay. It's okay. Shh...." I said this when I heard him cry softly and felt small wet drops on my shoulders.
I kept reassuring him everything was going to be alright until he calmed down.
When he finished I asked, "do you want to talk about it?"
His eyes drooped and he shook his head no. I knew he must still be tired, especially after crying for so long. It takes a lot out of you.
"Do you want to go back to bed?"
This time he nodded. "Yeah."
"Okay," I said softly and stood up with him in my arms and carried him to bed. I laid him down and tucked him in again. When I was about to leave, he grabbed my hand.
"No," he begged softly, "please stay. Don't leave me. I'm scared."
My heart broke for him when he said this. I couldn't help but say yes to him. I crawled into bed beside him. As soon as I was settled, he was snuggling against me. I laid my arm lightly over him, knowing this was what he wanted to receive comfort. Not long after this is when he fell asleep. I then laid there, wondering what it was that scared him so much.
Adam came in not long after this. I knew he heard it all so there was no reason to tell him.
"Any room for me?" he whispered looking first at me and Liam and then at the big empty space behind me.
I glanced back slightly so I didn't disturb Liam. "I don't know. Can you fit?"
"I think I can," he whispered and crawled into bed behind me. There was plenty of space so it was okay. It didn't really matter.
Adam settled down and soon we were both drifting off to sleep. The last thing on my mind Liam. What was he and what happened to his parents?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yay! Here's my next update. What do you think of it? What's going to happen and what do you think Liam is?
Also, random question. What Harry Potter House do you belong to? I'm Ravenclaw. I'm curious and want to know. And I may be doing a few random questions here and there. What do you think?
On Reign, it is all true for me. I was going to give it up but I just couldn't. I am at the marriage episode though.

Because even if I don't want too that's not really how fate works, is it? You don't pick and choose fates plan, you get slammed with it and good luck to your poor soul. This is my story, the kind that was written years before I was even born, and now I'm living it. Watch me make a mess of it too, because after all, I wasn't born to follow. P.S. This book is technically #1, but I have a book before this one that's about their parents. You learn more, and get a clue about their parents and why they are the way they are. Some of the conversations in this book would make more sense by knowing the past. It's not as well written, but if you can get thought it, I promise you'll love this one even more. Of course if you rather start here, then you do you! It will make sense either way! I tired to fill in all the gaps without it getting overbearing.
