《Taken》Chapter 49

Will you marry me?
That question kept beating around in my head. I wanted to shout from the top of my lungs yes but something held me back.
It was like Adam didn't even notice my hesitation because he continued on without missing a beat. "I know what you might be thinking. It is soon for one to be getting married but that is in the human world. If we were both werewolves we would have already been married. But I love you and I want to be married to you and make you happy. And if we're married, we also have a stronger case in adopting Liam. I know you want him and I do too. I hope this proves to you that I do want him. He is such a great kid and has been through so much already. I want us to become a family."
Before he could say anymore I jumped in his arms and shouted, "yes!"
I loved him so much I knew whatever came next wouldn't matter, as long as we were together.
I felt little arms wrap around me very suddenly because the body crashed into us and almost caused me to fall over. I didn't fall because Adam was supporting me. I heard the body yell, "yay!" I smiled and glanced down to see Liam hugging udms both and trying to shimmy his way between us.
I laughed and let go of Adam and bent down to hug Liam.
"I'm happy," he exclaimed. "I don't want anyone else."
I grinned, "I want you too. You're an amazing little boy I can't ever get rid of."
All Liam did was laugh and say, "so. Do you like what we did? I made it!" He gestured around to the place we were at in the forest. "Adam helped me with the sign though." He just shrugged at that.

Now that I got a better look at the place, I noticed the place was filled with lights. Candles sat everywhere, in trees, on the ground, on branches of bushes where it was safe. There was also a table with food off to one side, most likely dinner.
"I think you did an amazing job," I told Liam happily. "The place is beautiful."
Liam beamed proudly and his chest swelled up with pride. "Thank you." It was quite cute seeing a six year old looking the way he did.
"So," I heard Adam say getting up off the ground, "who's hungry? Liam here helped make what we're eating tonight."
I turned and looked at Liam again, my smiling and eyes widening slightly, "you did?" He nodded. "Well then, I'll bet it'll be delicious."
Liam never lost the smile on his face when I told him this and I stood up. "Come on! I want to show you!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the table. He really was quite strong for a six year old but he was gentle about pulling me. I just wondered what he would be like when he matures.
I glanced back at Adam with a laugh and saw his eyes twinkling with delight as he followed us slower over to the table.
On the table, I saw a whole array of food. I heard Liam saying, "Adam helped me cook it but I made the cookies, put the fruit in the bowl, I cut up the potatoes to make the fries, the cheesy bread, mac and cheese, and Adam made the chicken. I couldn't help him with that. I'm too small and I didn't know what to do. It was too hard."
"Well, I think you did a wonderful job. Go ahead and start making your plate. I know you want to."

Liam grinned and did just that. I watched him amused as I fell back into Adam. He wrapped his arms around me and rested his chin on my head. "So," I started, "you helped him make all of his favorite foods."
Adam laughed lightly, "yeah, I did. I knew you would be find with it though since you like it all too."
I smiled and agreed. "I also can't but help noticing there is no vegetables too."
Liam heard that and stopped to turn around and make a face, "vegetables are the worst. They should not exist in this world. If they disappeared forever, I would be happy." He then turned around and continued filling his plate. He sure was hungry and could eat a lot by the looks of it.
All I could do was laugh softly at his remark and by the look of it, Adam thought the same thing. "Aww... does my big bad alpha not like vegetables too?"
He shook his head. "No, I'll eat them, there fine and everything but they are devils, depending on certain ones. Like brussel sprouts." He made a gagging sound, "those are the worst."
I laughed at this but I couldn't help and agree with him, those were pretty bad. Otherwise I didn't mind eating anything else.
I glanced back at Liam to find he was done piling food on his plate and heading over to a blanket to sit on like it was a picnic.
I moved over to the table and picked up a plate, Adam right beside me. I put a bit of everything on my plate, most of it fried chicken however since that is absolutely amazing. I then walked over to the blanket too and sat down. As soon as I sat down however, I realized I forgot water. I grumbled and was about to get up and go get it when I saw Adam walking over with three bottles of water. I sat back down and smiled at Adam as he handed me one and sat down next to me. "Thank you," I said as I took it from him.
He handed me another one, "give this to Liam." I did so, grabbing it and handing it to Liam who was on the other side of me.
This was just perfect. A perfect way to end the day. And I couldn't imagine myself having my life end up any other way.
