《Natasha x Y/N》Chapter 17

Nat's POV
I awoke to a noise in front of me and a bright light. Opening my eyes slowly I saw Tony and Thor stood before me. Thor held a camera and had forgotten to turn the flash off as he tried to photograph me and y/n. I grinned, thinking that Thor had only take one and that I could easily get it back. That was until Clint walked in and said, "You guys back again? I thought you got enough pictures yesterday." I looked straight at Tony who began to back away. I scowled and began to get up but he quickly said, "We wouldn't want to wake y/n, now would we?" Pointing at the girl still cuddled up to me. I glared at him, "I will get you for that." He laughed and walked away from the main room, Thor and Clint following swiftly behind.
I groaned and settled back against the sofa, waiting for y/n to awake. It was about 7am and so the rest of the team should surely be up soon. I waited for about 10 minutes until I decided to get up. I slid out for under her and rested a pillow beneath her head. She stirred slightly but remained asleep. I made myself a cup of coffee and a slice of toast with butter on it. I thought about making y/n breakfast in bed but I was not sure if she would eat it, or when she would wake up so I decided to leave it for today. I sat at the counter on a barstool and planned my day out, I was lost in thought until I felt two hands snake around my waist. I span around quickly and held them at arms length by their throat, intending to choke them. "Y/n!" I gasped and let go, making her breathe heavily. "I'm so sorry." I apologised as she bent over a little, catching the breath I had knocked out of her.
"It's okay." She said, laughing a little. "Would have preferred that under different circumstances." She grinned.
"Oh would you now?" I smirked at her.
"Yep. Anyway, how long have you been up?" She asked.
"About 15 minutes, Tony and Thor took pictures of us sleeping so I am going to destroy the evidence." I told her.
"Aw no, I want the pictures. I can frame one, it would be cute." She said.
"Yeah, no. I have a reputation as the scariest, most badass assassin in the world and you want to frame a picture of me in my pyjamas, hugging my girlfriend as we both curl up on the sofa?" I asked incredulously.
"Pretty much." She agreed.
"You can keep one." I compromised.
"Deal." She shook my hand mockingly.

Y/N's POV
Training had started again, in a much more structured way. I began by training Peter in the early afternoon. We almost always did hand to hand combat and some sort of disarming of weapons. Peter being Spiderman means he doesn't go for big fights, rather he attacks in lots of little ways to overcome an opponent. So we worked on his accuracy of using web slingers, the power of his punches and some tactical stuff too.
After about 3 hours of training the kid, I go upstairs to shower. Then come back down and Wanda is waiting for me. We practice my abilities, helping me to gain more control over them. It really is helping and the main thing is Wanda is helping my confidence with using my abilities. I am not completely comfortable with them yet but better than I was before. Wanda threw a tennis ball at me and I easily flicked it away with my mind.

She grinned at me. "You're doing great."
"Thanks." I smiled back, genuinely pleased with my progress.
"You look tired though, so we are going to call it a day there." She said walking over to me.
"Yeah, I feel a little wiped out." I laughed, sitting on the grass next to her.
"You'll need your energy for later." A voice said behind us. I turned around and saw Nat leant against a tree.
"Oh hey Nat, we just finished training." I said.
"Good, Tony told me to tell you guys that he has a party at 8pm, some announcement he is going to make. I don't know but he wants the whole team there." Nat said.
"So is that what she needs her energy for?" Wanda asked curiously.
"Amongst other things." Nat smirked.
"What!?" Wanda laughed as she looked at us. I looked at Nat who only winked at me. I blushed and laughed awkwardly.
"Well on that note, I am going to get lunch." I said, getting up.
"I'll join you." Nat said. "Wanda you coming?"
"No I think I will leave you to it for today." She cringed.
"Okay, well tomorrow?" I asked, still blushing.
"Sure." She smiled and made her way back inside.
I looked at Nat who was still leant against the tree. "Really?"
"What?" She smirked at me.
"Oh you know what." I shook my head as we both walked towards the kitchen.
"Y/L/N, I have no idea what you are talking about." She teased. I rolled my eyes and grabbed some stuff out of the fridge to make our lunch.
After assembling a nice chicken salad, me and Nat sat down at the table and planned out the rest of the day. It was 2pm, so that meant we had 6 hours until the party. We decided to go out on a walk around town for a bit. There was a cute bookstore that I wanted to take her to, but I didn't tell her that just yet because I wanted it to be a surprise. Afterwards we would come home, get ready and then go to Tony's party.
***
I changed into some more causal clothes. Black jeans, a navy top and a black leather jacket with my boots. I tied my hair up into a half up- half down style and then waited for Nat by the door.
"Ready?" She asked as she walked over to me.
"Always." I said taking her hand as we walked outside.
We wandered around small shops and little stores, before I lead us over to the bookshop. It was quaint and ye olde worldly. It had a small cafe at the back and always smelt of fresh baked goods. I knew the owner from a few years back when I stopped her bakery from getting robbed.
"Maria?" I called out. Entering the shop with a closed sign.
"Who is Maria?" Nat asked. "And what are you doing it is closed."
"The owner." I replied. "I am a friend." I explained.
A woman appeared at the counter and grinned at me. She walked through the gate at the side and hugged me tightly. "Y/n! It has been a while, how are you?" She asked as she pulled away.
"Yeah, I have been doing good. Thank you. How about you, anything new?" I asked.
"Not much, business as usual." She smiled at me.
"Oh, this is Nat." I said introducing her to Maria.

"Hey nice to meet you." Maria said to Nat. "Is this the one you were talking about?" Maria asked me.
"Hey! I said not to talk about that!" I whined.
"Sorry." She said not sorry at all.
"What does she mean Y/n?" Nat asked me confused.
"Yeah go on tell her." Maria grinned at me.
"Oh my god I hate you." I told her.
"Mhmm sure now spill." Maria winked at me.
"I want free drinks and free cake." I bargained.
"Deal." She said immediately.
"Really? Wow okay." I said, surprised.
"You would have gotten that anyway." She laughed.
"Y/n?" Nat asked again, not liking being left in the dark.
I sighed and Maria lead us to a booth in the corner for us to sit at whilst I spoke.
"When I first met Maria, I wasn't part of the avengers. I was still technically with Hydra, but I wasn't working for them. I was wandering this street really early in the morning when I saw this bakery being robbed. I didn't really care much but I thought the owner might give me a bit of food or something so I intervened and stopped the robbers. Maria lived upstairs and she came down to see all the fuss and basically watched me beat the crap out of this gang. She was kind of impressed and offered me a cookie afterwards." I laughed.
"Hey it was all I had!" She laughed back.
"Yeah yeah. Anyway we became really good friends after that and I continued to come here when I joined the avengers. Maria was really good at knowing when something was wrong and one day I was sat here, drinking a coffee and staring at it blankly. She came over and somehow managed to get me to spill my guts to her." I said blushing a little.
"Yeah and what did you tell me?" Maria prompted.
I sighed and looked at her a little embarrassed. "I told you how I had huge crush on one of the avengers and I had no idea how to deal with it."
"And?" She asked.
"I said they were way out of my league, incredibly talented and smart and intimidating and that they would never notice me. Also that they hated me."
"Oh well I would love to meet them." Nat teased.
"Yeah yeah, shut up babe." I said jokingly.
"Babe?" Maria asked.
"Oh yeah, I didn't say. Uh Natasha Romanoff, A.K.A Black-widow. A.K.A My girlfriend." I said taking Nat's hand in my own.
"So this is the mystery person who played with you heart?" Maria asked grinning.
"She didn't play with it on purpose. She didn't even know how I felt until a few weeks ago." I protested.
"Well Nat, I am glad y/n finally spoke up about how she felt. It was driving me crazy having to listen to how agonising it was for her to be sat in the same room as someone who would never notice her. Oh and the amount of times she drooled over your smirk was frustrating and every little detail ever about you. Jeez I could write your biography with the details she tells me." Maria teased me.
"I didn't know I made such an impression." Nat smirked at me.
"That's the one! That is exactly how she described it." Maria cheered.
"Yeah okay we don't need to tell her anything else!" I hissed at Maria.
"Like what?" Nat asked intrigued.
"It could be anything. She loves it when you laugh, oh my god! The way she talks about you speaking Russian-" Maria broke off as I jabbed her in the side with my elbow.
"Yeah anyway. Go get us coffee and cake. Chop chop." I said jokingly to my friend, glaring at her.
"Alright, I will leave you and your lady to talk." Maria laughed, fending off my glare, as she went to get us our food and drinks.
"Russian huh?" Nat teased.
"Shut up." I said embarrassed.
"Does that turn you on baby girl?" Nat leaned over the table, so she nearly kissed me. Pulling back as soon as I leant in to kiss her."So, Maria seems nice." Nat said with a glint in her eye.
"Why would you do that?!" I complained.
"Do what?" Nat cocked an eyebrow at me, entertained by the affect she had on me with just a few words.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked suspiciously.
"Oh no reason." Nat said faking innocence.
Maria returned with our coffee and cake, with a plate of her own.
"So Maria, how would you like to go to a party tonight?" Nat asked.
"Depends, who will be there?" Maria replied.
"Nat don't you dare." I warned her.
"Me, y/n, the Avengers. Just a little party, curtesy of Tony Stark. Starts at 8pm sharp, Avengers compound. Don't invite anyone else, oaky?" Nat offered.
"Sounds good, I will see you there." Maria agreed.
"Can't wait." Nat smiled.
"You two are going to give me one hell of an evening aren't you?" I sighed looking at them both.
"Oh yeah." Maria said.
"That is what I am planning on." Nat said mischeviosuly.
"Fine." I huffed, knowing they were going to embarrass me. "Well Maria, as I am seeing you later, me and Nat will head back to the compound to get ready." I stood up and drained the last bit of my coffee. "That was as good as always, thank you."
"Of course." Maria said graciously.
"Maria, I feel we will get on well." Nat said.
"Yeah, I think so too." Maria agreed, well aware the two of them would tease me all evening about Nat.
"Okay let's go." I grumbled.
"Alright, see you later y/n." Maria called after us. We waved and walked back down the street.
"Not a word of this to anyone." I told Nat seriously.
"Why not?" She asked.
"No I mean it. You can't let the avengers know about Maria's shop. You can't." I stressed.
"Okay babe, chill. Why did you show me if the others can't know?" She inquired.
"I trust you and she basically knows everything about you." I admitted.
"Cute." She smiled. "I won't tell the others, ill just say you met at a coffee shop a few years ago and we met down town today. Alright?" Nat asked.
"Yeah, thank you." I smiled at her. She smiled back and leant in to kiss me. I pulled away sharply, "That is for earlier." I teased.
"Rude." Nat grumbled.
"Yeah it is. Now hurry up so we can get ready." I said as we headed back to the compound.
