Ashley's POV
I thought the next day would feel different after last night but that was wishful thinking. I was still alone and I still had shit load of work to do. Even though I didn't feel as liberated as I felt last night I'll be lying if I said I didn't feel anything at all. I felt a little lighter than yesterday, which I'm grateful for.
I got dressed for office (A/N: Picture of the outfit on the beginning). I ate my breakfast while reading the newspaper. I checked my phone and saw a message from Liam. I decided to check in with him before going to work.
I opened my door to leave when I saw David standing in front of me with his hand hanging in the air. I think he was about to knock. He was dressed in a sky blue dress shirt with formal pants. He was dressed to go to work so I didn't understand what he wanted from me.
"Hey." He said clearing his throat. I just raised my eyebrow. He spoke again "could you drop me? My sister took my car this morning."
"I-uh-I am going to meet Liam. You want to go to his hospital, right?"
"Yes. Could you please?"
In the spirit of stepping out of my comfort zone I said "Yeah okay."
I drove him to the hospital. The car ride was a little uncomfortable than I thought it would be but we powered through it. I texted Liam to meet me outside.
I parked my car in David's spot as we waited for Liam to come out.
He jogged to the car and gave me a hug before handing me a file that Jenny was supposed to drop at the office today.
"Your wife is not coming."

"Yeah. Maybe, I don't know, something with the kids."
I scoffed "I'm not running a charity. I pay her, not to babysit both of your kids. Take responsibility." I chuckled lightly but both men watched me as if I were an Alien.
"Did you just use sarcasm and then chuckled?"Liam asked being all amused.
"No." I replied quickly.
He smiled before turning to David "you can start the work, I'll be right with you."
"You guys aren't gonna come inside?"
"No, Ashley doesn't like the whole hospital vibe. Moreover, she's probably late for work."
"Yeah.." I trailed as David's eyes searched for answer in mine. He finally nodded and left.
"You're okay?" Liam asked
I blinked registering the question. It was strange he didn't parade me to answer questions as why I'm not coming inside.
"Are you okay, Ash?" Liam asked again.
"Huh? Ah, yes, I'm okay."
Liam frowned "weird. Anyhow, did you plan something for your parent's thirty fifth anniversary?"
"Yeah, sort of. I got the place but that's all I did. Would you mind swinging by there later and talking to the caterers?"
"Why? What did you do?"
"They were pissing me off so I may have threaten them and now they're not ready to work."
"Wow. Okay. I'll look into it. Anything else?"
"Yes, the guest list. I want you to take care of that too."
"Yeah okay. I can do that. Did you include your guests in it already."
"Apart from Jennifer, I don't have anyone else to bring." I wish I had the guts to ask David but I didn't want him to think it was date. Baby steps before I run a marathon.
"You do your share of work. I gotta go." I hugged him and left.

On my way to the office I called my assistant to prepare a list of business associates my father is closed to and send it to Liam so he can prepare the guest list.
I entered my conference room where a high profile client was waiting for me.
"Mr. Boots, it's a pleasure" I greeted him.
"Likewise."
He and his team drew out the presentation as what they want from our company.
"This all just a rough draft but we'll have something more solid if you agree to work with us, Mrs. Morris."
I haven't heard someone call me that in years. My hand froze and I went pale all of a sudden.
"It's Walker now. Ashley Walker" I corrected.
"Oh I'm sorry. I thought you were married to Aaron Morris."
That name. It brings up so many unsettling feelings.
"I was. We're separated."
"Oh. Right. I'm extremely sorry. I heard he was in-"
"Can we discuss business? My personal life is not a matter of interest here."
I couldn't concentrate on the rest of the meeting because my mind kept diverting to the mention of that name.
He came from behind and hugged me tightly, not letting go. I had a smile plastered on my face with the sweet gesture of his. We've been married for a short period of time now but it has been a completely blissful. Im aware how people say early stage of marriage is supposed to be happy and joyful until you start hating each other's guts but the love I feel today, I'm positive I'm going to feel it for the rest of my life. I've a caring and thoughtful husband. There isn't much I could ask for in life.
"What's cooking in that pretty little head of yours?"
"Uh.. Nothing" I kissed him gently.
"I've something to tell"
I turned around and faced him. He gave me his charming smile and held my hand.
"I love how our mornings starts. The serenity to see you sleeping soundly next to me is amazing. I look at you and I see how happy the rest of my life would be. I was perfectly fine without you but ever since I've meet you, I've realized how lonely I used to be. I fall in love with you every day and I promise to fall in love every day for as many days I've on this planet."
I had happy tears in my eyes. I threw my arms around his neck and hugged him so tightly. This was the moment I dreamt everyday and finally I'm living it.
"Oh god! I love you. I love you so much"
He chuckled and pulled apart and kissed my nose gently. He stroke my cheek and said "I love you Mrs. Morris"
"Ms. Walker? Are you okay?" Someone called me.
I blinked and realised I was still in the conference room and they were looking at with concern. I was zoned out and distorted.
"I'm sorry." I mumbled
"What? Do you need some water?"
"I-no-i gotta go"
I picked up my bag and rushed to my car. I didn't know why I remembered that particular moment but I couldn't seem to concentrate on anything after that.
I sat in my car trying to control my breathing before driving off to my apartment.
