《The Younger Agent - Natasha Romanoff x OC》Chapter 100 - Dumpster Diving

The explosion sounded through the house as the noise ricocheted off of the walls, Eleanor briefly saw Yelena snatching the red vials off of the table, but she didn't have time to be in relief about that, as she started pushing Natasha forward and away from the danger that awaited them. Natasha went ahead at the push and dragged Eleanor with her, turning the corner and quickly pressing their backs against the wall, decreasing the chances of someone spotting them, though not by much.
Dust blew around them as the air showed just how unused the apartment really was. All that could be heard after it had settled down were their breaths, chests going up and down in a controlled manner to remain as quiet as possible. Eleanor's body was tense, ready for the fight to come, but her anxieties were eased slightly when Nat, who was facing away from Eleanor, linked their pinkies and squeezed them together for a moment, unlinking them when the sound of the front door being slammed open could be heard.
The two women flinched, people were most certainly in the apartment now, there was no doubt about that, so they needed to move, staying would mean death. They carried on through to the bedroom, stopping when they reached the open doors to the living room, once again pressing their backs on the surface behind them. She couldn't see as much as Nat, but the laser pointers from guns could definitely be seen, the red hue glowing through the dusty air was a dead giveaway.
Cogs began to whir in Eleanor's head, concocting a plan of action, whilst they were being hunted down. Natasha turned to face her, her face set in thought too as she tried to communicate with her wife via her eyes, but before Eleanor could figure out the meaning multiple shots were fired on the other side of the house. Yelena.
Their eyes widened as they turned around, walking with purpose to reach Yelena, they were on full alert in order to avoid being shot, so much so that when someone turned the corner, Natasha immediately grabbed them by the shoulders and slammed them into the wall, causing them to grunt out in pain. Eleanor recognised the mysterious person to be Yelena, and so did her sister, her grip easing just as Yelena flipped a switch that overloaded the fuses, electricity sparking around the house as the lights blew up one by one.
The sound was incredibly loud, and Eleanor cringed at the sound of glass shattering over and over, "We need to g-", she started telling the two in front of her, but was swiftly tackled to the floor, one of the assailants sprinting up to her as she was the straggler at the edge of the group, wrapping their legs around Eleanor's neck and throwing her to the floor, a suspiciously familiar attack.
She groaned when she hit the hardwood floors, her shoulder not appreciating the assault, and swiftly heard more fighting when Yelena and Natasha joined in as more attackers made an appearance. Eleanor promptly jumped up, elbowing someone in the throat, and then sending a brutal kick to someone's abdomen.
After everyone seemed to be down Yelena tapped Eleanor's elbow as she moved past her, prompting her to follow. A small smile tugged at her lips as she followed the blonde, her wife hot on her tail, maybe there was a chance that she didn't have a problem with her, though she quickly focused solely on getting out, as this wasn't the time nor place.
They swiftly ran to the front hallway that opened up onto the balcony, Eleanor and Yelena stood inside as Natasha peeked her head out to get a lay of the land, but quickly moved back in when bullets flew at her in quick succession. The other two ducked two as the stray bullets flew inside, and then had to duck facing the other way as more bullets came at them from the stairwell. "Fuck, fuck, fuck", Eleanor muttered as she stood back up straight, firmly pressing herself against the wall.

"Agreed", Yelena mumbled and took a grenade out of her bag, throwing it down the stairwell before taking off up the stairs, Eleanor and Natasha quickly following. "Where are we trying to get?", Natasha shouted from the back of the group as they went up the circular staircase and onto the curved hallway with a wall made of windows, not ideal when having bullets with your name on them.
"Motorbike! East side of the building". Eleanor gave a breathy nod as the group ran, narrowly avoiding a bullet that came through the window as they got into the next room. They climbed yet another set of stairs, which Eleanor was cussing the universe out for. She had the stamina for it, it was just a lot of effort. "We need to get there over the rooftop", Yelena shouted out as they started another ascent up a set of stairs, the trio then ran through a hallway towards a large open window that led to the rooftop.
Yelena jumped through first, followed by Eleanor and then Natasha. First, they had to run up a slanted bit of roof, relying heavily on the grip of their boots thanks to the smooth material of the tiles. There were a couple of times when one of them nearly stumbled, making the others widen their eyes slightly in panic, but they made it over the top, and immediately had to slide down the other side.
They all slid down with one leg tucked under their body and the other one outstretched to control the speed of their descent, then ran towards a concrete tube that spanned from the ground to a height above the rooftops. Immediately all three women planted their hands on it to try and get it to move, a unanimous idea of using it to get to a lower part of the building.
Eleanor turned when she heard footsteps and saw one of the attackers too close for comfort, so used stronger attempts to get the tube to move, adrenaline coursing through her veins. Though the attempts were futile, however, and it wasn't budging. That was until Yelena spotted the metal screw that was attaching it to the roof and pulled it out, it being rusty enough to do so. Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief when it started moving slightly as they pushed it again before panic kicked in as she realised that this plan was now in action and they were about to actually soar towards the ground on this thing.
Natasha and Yelena moved to opposite sides of the pole, leaving Eleanor room in the middle to hang on as they all pushed away from the roof, their feet planted on some piping that ran on the outside of it. For a second Eleanor thought that they were relatively safe. Just for a second.
Though that thought was quickly stomped on when the attacker jumped onto her back. Her footing completely slipped off of the tube as they started falling down, having had no grip with her hands. Luckily, she managed to hold onto the piping that her feet once rested on, and grunted in pain as the muscles in her shoulders screamed. The impact and momentum meant that the person on her back couldn't hang on, especially with her harsh movements with an intent to make Eleanor fall.
Even though this person was attacking them, she didn't want to let them die. She quickly removed one of her hands and turned to try and catch them, but before she could, Nat dropped down onto the piping and grabbed them, shouting "I got you!".

As they continued falling, Eleanor rested a hand on Nat's wrist, getting ready to catch her if she fell down too, as the person she was holding onto was still flailing around, which made her incredibly anxious for her wife's safety. Time seemed to slow down for her as they clung on for dear life, the pole slowly heading towards Earth.
Eleanor's eyes scrunched in confusion when the woman began getting a knife out, surely she wouldn't attack them whilst her life was in their hands? Though apparently, she was wrong, as the attacker sliced the back of Nat's hand, luckily only a small cut, but enough for her to lose her grip. Eleanor watched helplessly as the woman fell to the ground as Nat reached out for her, but there was nothing that they could do.
The wind whipped through their hair as the pole fell faster with the weight of it shifting now that it was nearly on its side, and Eleanor felt sick. It was like a theme park ride from hell, and that hell only got worse when it hit the building. Yelena, being the one highest up, smashed through the window and onto the floor, the other two didn't have such luxury. Natasha flew into the wall and managed to grab onto the windowsill, before tumbling down, and Eleanor hit the tube with her body with a thump, having not been on the side like the others.
She pressed her forehead against the tube to try and regain her breath, but when she heard the thumping of someone falling, her head snapped down to look at her wife hitting metal vent after metal vent, before landing on her feet at the bottom, making Eleanor cringe at how much that would have hurt, but thankful for her wife being alive. The next issue was trying to get down from the pole as there wasn't a way for her to be able to reach the windowsill properly without having a tumble like Natasha did, and sliding down was risky due to the lack of grip and balance.
She groaned as she clung onto it, contemplating her decisions, any way that she got down would involve a nasty fall, so she just had to try and take it steady to decrease the nastiness as much as possible. For a moment she took in a deep breath, relishing in her body not being in excruciating pain before she made the decision to go for it. They didn't have too much time with the number of attackers that would be following them from the apartment. With shaky hands she moved them from the piping and onto the side of the pole, immediately harshly sliding down before she managed to slow down with the friction of her boots. She looked like a koala as she clung to it, not daring to look down.
She slowly shuffled down more before she took the leap of faith and looked around, seeing Yelena now with Natasha on the floor next to the now-dead attacker, talking about something. It would be impossible for her to completely slide down the pole with the time crunch as she would have to manoeuvre over all of the various piping and it would take her to the other side of the apartment complex.
After shuffling down further, she could just make out Yelena saying "Enough", before moving to walk away, though was quickly interrupted. "Wait, where's El?", Nat stood with wobbly legs before regaining her composure.
Yelena's eyes widened momentarily, "I thought she was with you?".
"Well, she clearly isn't", Nat deadpanned, annoyed and worried, but they quickly heard some metal clanging coming from above them as Eleanor started to find her footing on a piece of piping, now crouching on the side of it many feet up in the air. She couldn't see it, but Nat's eyes practically popped out of her skull as she took the sight in. "What the fuck are you doing!", she yelled up with one hand cupped to the side of her mouth acting like a megaphone.
"Just a sec!", Eleanor dismissed her, causing her wife to march forward a few steps mumbling profanities under her breath. Meanwhile, Eleanor was trying to figure out the best trajectory to land on the dumpster below her without shattering all of her leg bones. The height was making her want to cry, but every time she shuffled down the pole she felt as though she was going to fall and go straight onto the concrete below her, so the best bet was to make a calculated jump and hope for the best. That was most of her techniques in her line of work, making the least stupid decision out of a pool of stupid decisions and just hoping for the best.
"Don't you dare jump from-", Natasha's yelling was interrupted by it prompting Eleanor to make the jump before Nat could try and talk her out of it. The air left her lungs completely whilst she plummeted and tried to figure out how to contort her body in midair to try and stop it from hurting too much. Before she could conduct a proper plan in the couple of seconds it took for her to fall, she had hit the dumpster, landing on her side with her legs tucked in, her shoulder and hip taking the brunt of the fall.
"Fuck me", she wheezed out and coughed before she felt a hand on her ankle, and looked up to meet the somehow cold and warm look her wife was giving her. One that was making sure she was okay and one that was telling her that she would be murdered later on for the incredibly stupid decision. Eleanor let out a nervous chuckle as Nat opened her arms out to help Eleanor down, grabbing her from under the armpits and lowering her to the floor. "Are you okay?", Nat's eyes raked over Eleanor's body, checking for any obvious injuries.
The younger woman just nodded slightly, she had just watched Nat take a much worse fall and was not worried about herself in any way, shape, or form. "I saw your tumble, are you okay?", she checked in and now it was Natasha's turn to let out a chuckle, the concerned look etched into Eleanor's face after being injured herself just a few seconds ago was very on brand. "Yes, honey, I'm okay", she briefly pressed her forehead to Eleanor's before looking over at Yelena who was waiting patiently, though Eleanor could have sworn that she saw her face scrunching up due to being forced to look at the affection.
Holding in a laugh at the domestic childishness, Eleanor took off after Yelena who had begun running and Nat ran alongside her, through the alleyway that led out of the apartment complex, though both hesitated when they passed the woman on the floor. "She's a widow", Nat mumbled solemnly and looked into her wife's eyes searching for some kind of reassurance. Eleanor gently nodded and took her hand, she had twigged onto that fact with the way that they were fighting. The Red Room wasn't gone.
The small smile that Eleanor gave her made a force of calm flow through Nat, and so they carried on running after Yelena, hoping to haul ass and get out of there before they were killed. They all ran down the street side by side, the peaceful feeling of the street the polar opposite of the storm that was brewing inside of all of them. "Which one's yours?", Nat asked, slightly breathless from all the physical exertion that they had just experienced.
"Black, brown seat", Yelena shouted back as they slowed down next to a row of motorbikes, searching her back pockets for her keys, though coming up empty. "Where are my keys?", she spoke with urgency, rearing to get out. Eleanor smirked slightly at Natasha throwing them up into the air and hopping on the front of the seat. She had no clue when she had even taken them. "Ah сука", Yelena slowly said as Nat got comfortable, making Eleanor let out a nasal laugh, hoping to not be heard by the blonde. Though apparently, that wish didn't come true.
"You can get on the back", she gave Eleanor a pointed look, who consequently frowned at her. "What? Why?". She did not intend to sit on the back in case she fell off, Natasha's motorbike rides could be reckless enough as is.
"Because I don't want to fall off", Yelena shrugged and the two had a staring contest fighting for domination, both wanting the same thing and not willing to give it up, even after hearing Natasha scoff at the playground argument. The smashing of glass quickly pulled their attention away as they saw a car barrelling down the road. "Any day now", Nat ordered the two as some sort of grey, metal tank rounded the corner at speed, coming straight at them.
Immediately Yelena jumped on the back, hanging onto Nat, and Eleanor flung herself onto the small space at the back just as Natasha started to pull away. She gripped onto Yelena for dear life, who wasn't quite happy with the situation, but then again, neither of them were. Eleanor looked with her mouth agape trying to fully take in what the tank looked like before her back was turned to it as Nat gained speed down the narrow walkway, the sound of the tank battering into everything behind them making them all the more tense.
Eleanor who was stuck in the back had almost fallen off when Nat was forced to take a sharp turn through a small path between two buildings, one that was too small for the tank to go through. Luckily Yelena grabbed onto her wrist that had slipped off of her waist and secured it back. Eleanor thanked her and expected her to let go, but Yelena just kept a tight hold of her with one hand, the other one holding onto her sister in the front.
She tightened her hold on Yelena too so as to not fall off again as they moved out onto the main road, not fancying being turned into roadkill. Just as she thought they had a chance at getting away, the revving noise of another motorbike engine appeared very close to them, prompting Eleanor to turn her head and see someone from the apartment hot on their tail.
"Crap".
A/n~ I'm so sorry for this update being so late D: Have had a very busy couple of weeks, plus university work and recovering from an illness that felt like pure death lmao

A World With or Without Aliens
Nothing matters. It's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact. This is neither good nor bad, it just... is. I watched my entire country burn, fried on a patriotic pan after some jerk fired a bunch of nukes at the docile fleet of alien ships hovering over us. Who gave this moron such power? I don't know. Everyone involved is most likely dead by now. As for me, I can't die. I feel pain like a normal person would (I think), but no matter how terrible the conditions, I will never die or pass out. Fortunately, a lot of alien technology survived its crash to Earth, so I get to spend some time playing with it until Mr. Author gets bored and decides to screw up my life. Beware, this has a "harem" tag. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm the main character and am therefore subject to this novel's timeline. While this bars me from the sweet ignorance of Chapter 1's me, it does have other perks... for example, I can tell you that heroine number one is personally responsible for kil-!? H-hey, back off! I'm your character, so if you didn't want me to be like this, then you should've written me differently! Randomguy here! In all seriousness, this novel is meant to explore the concept of nihilism as a post-apocalyptic/supernatural-scifi/satire told from a nihilistic introvert's first-person perspective. As you heard from my unsettled main character, each heroine is going to be a different type of horrifying socio/psychopath with dark motives and dangerous abilities (most of which are psychological). Why would I do something like this? Because I am, in reality, a nihilist who is often frustrated by weird things, like unrealistically dramatic stories, the industrialization of art (specifically music), and people who think swimming in brown creekwater for five hours is a "fun" activity. Don't get me wrong, neither me nor my character are depressed, we're just malcontents who make a lot of nerd references. I feel like the true essence of an "everything is worthless" perspective is lost on most pop-culture figures. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Rick from Rick and Morty, who is a drunk, angry nihilist that experienced tremendous loss. I, personally, find this belligerent state of mind to be very relatable, and have incorperated it into every chapter's introduction. Here, the main character talks directly to the reader (and me), shamelessly complaining about some semi-relevant facet of society, which probably doesn't make much sense... it's not really supposed to, though. These "angry nihilist" moments are just a peak into the main character's everyday existence, and also act as miniature rage-journals for me. It will sometimes take a subjectively 'positive' turn, but not very often. This is because reality isn't good or bad, "it just... is". I will eventually bring it full-circle to optimistic nihilism, since that seems to be a more practical way to live (and by "practical", I mean "doesn't create mental health issues"). It is, of course, a satire. I did this because most unnecessarily emotional moments or people usually make me feel kind of awkward, so I decided to mock them. That is, I plan to mock the characteristics about them I don't like in characters based solely off said characteristics. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story!
