《Becoming His Male Empress (BxBxMPREG)》6 - A New place

RECAP
As I walked into Yang Province I felt nervous, overwhelmed and giddy inside, I wondered what the capital city held in stock for me.
JIANG
I was super excited as I stepped into the Yang province, the capital was still some distance away from where I was located so I decided my first agenda was to find an inn where I could change into my sisters robe, then I had to hire some maids and guards as well as a carriage that will aid me in my procession to the capital,
I can't walk to the palace or ride a horse, the emperor might pick offense in that and as much as I don't want his favor I don't wish to anger him to the point where I lose my head.
I thought of how Yang Province was a new place to me, A strange land that I hoped will treat me better than the place I just left, I didn't want to think of the past anymore, I just wanted to look to the future.
I was standing not too far from the gate I just past through when I heard someone call this part of Yang Province Jang Jeil city, Jang jeil city was known as a business city, merchants with different types of merchandise from around the universe came to do business here,
The city was bustling and I felt as ease as I watched streams of people walk through the gigantic gate of Yang province like I earlier did, I felt at ease because I was not banished to live the rest of my life in the forest, away from human contact,
I felt free and unburdened because I had freed myself from my family's hold, I wasn't entering the palace to save the general's manor but to save myself and I will leave when my strength is enough.
I closed my eyes and was enveloped by the sound of people chattering and shoving each other , footsteps hitting the ground even the air felt more alive, happy, jubilant, I had this feeling then that I was about to break through.
As I opened my eyes someone shoved me and said "Stop standing there like you own the street and get out of the way Mr" I smiled at him through ice jewel and although he couldn't see me smile with ice jewel covering the lower part of my face, he acted like I was strange and just ran off.
An intermingling surge of excitement and satisfaction overwhelmed my senses and emotions as I took in everything Jang Jeil city had to offer, I was going to take my time to digest everything about the city.
I almost forgot my reason for being in Yang province until I came across an inn, I found the name of the inn quite interesting " No Difference" but I didn't understand what it meant until I took a step into the inn,
It was weird but I felt like i couldn't use my powers, like it had been sealed, I was certain it was the same for everyone here, in here we were all the same, there was no difference because we were all powerless, if they was to be an attacked we would be killed without been able to even give a fight.

I wondered why the Inn owner will do something like this but I was sure for him to have done this he must be truly powerful, an array elemental to be precise , they were so rare and highly respected because they could help boost an individual's magic power level with their arrays as well as seal magic powers,
Array elementals were highly important in the army because they could increase the overall strength of the army, too bad they were so rare and because of their rarity ones discovered from birth they will be nurtured with care, their every need will be met, array elementals really had it good.
"Young master, will you like to take a room" an attendant came to meet me with a smile, I liked the fact that they didn't treat me badly because of how poorly dressed I was, when I was on the street most people treated me like a beggar because my robe was as tattered as my bag, the only thing on me that looked pleasing was ice jewel and because of ice jewel some people felt I was mysterious so they kept away.
"A small room will do", I said,
he said and I nodded, then i checked my bag for the payment required,
When I was about to be sent off from the general's manor I asked father for some money, since the servants were there and everyone present thought I was the real Yue Lei, the most pampered beloved miss of the generals manor I was given a lot of spirit mana stones by father but he definitely wasn't please I asked for money and if I knew then he will be angry I wouldn't have asked in the first place, I just felt he forgot and it was something necessary for the journey.
the attendant said after I handed over the money , his smile not flattering once, I felt really welcomed, they really don't discriminate at "No difference" I thought as I followed behind the attendant, when we got to my room he handed me the key and was about to leave when I stopped him "Please wait, can I have you do something for me" I asked,
he bowed seriously to show his sincerity and I really was pleased with this attendant attitude, I planned on giving him some spirit mana stones later for his good service, if Jiang knew that the attendant though he was a miss pretending to be a boy because his voice was soft, mesmerizing, gentle and alluring to the extent that the attendant didn't mind doing anything for him I wonder how jiang would have felt then, he would have probably coughed blood, Jiang after all liked to see himself as a manly man.
" he asked.
" I added for good measure.
he said and turned to leave.
I abruptly said and he turned to face me looking confused and tense, he must have thought he offended me.
his cheeks suddenly looked flushed and I wonder what led to that " This lowly attendants name is Chen young master"

I said and he nodded, I felt Chen was a someone I could trust, I had just met him but I felt close to him already.
he bowed and then turned to leave.
__
The next day I was dressed in a wild spread silk dress made from one of the highest pink brocades in the Yin province, it was embroidered using the shu-style and had a lovely plum blossom design at its edges, I had picked a silver-wrought bracelet to go with the silver jade on my hair, I didn't have anyone attending to me so everything was done by yours truly whether I looked okay or not wasn't really my concern right now, I also changed my mask to a silver pink coloured thick veil, I was slender to begin with so the dress fit me perfectly and I was certain no one will be able to tell that beneath the dress wasn't a girl but a boy.
The sun had not risen when I stepped out of "No difference inn" but Chen was already waiting by the carriage outside the inn, he was gapping at me like an idiot ones he saw me and i felt slightly uncomfortable with the way he seemed lost, " Close your mouth Chen, you are drooling" I queried him lightly and he immediately composed his self "Sorry for being rude Young mast... " his brows were creased as if something was troubling him "Young mistress I mean" he said and blushed, I stared at him for a bit while trying to convince myself that this guy before me doesn't think I am truly a girl and doesn't a crush on me but then again if he really does think I am a girl then that means my disguise is airtight and I will be able to preserve my head at the palace.
"Take care Chen, I hope to meet you someday" I smiled sweetly at him but too bad the veil prevented him from seeing it, he still felt it though.
"Young mistress I am being sent to work at the No Difference Pavilion in the capital so if you need anything, anything at all you can find me there" he said quickly, now even his ears and neck were red, I sighed inwardly at the realization that Chen really did have a crush on me, if he didn't he won't be following me all the way to the capital, I am not being conceited but I just know I am the reason for his relocation.
"See you soon then Chen" I said and then stepped into the carriage"
The journey to the capital wasn't as stressful, heart breaking and assassin's filled as my journey from Yin to Yang province so when the sun went down we had already arrived at the capital, I didn't stop to rest but went straight to the palace gate, they have been expecting the people from the general's manor for a while now and further delay might not be such a good idea.
When we arrived we were met with hostility "Who are you" A guard at the palace gate shouted arrogantly and one of my hired guards responded "Yue Lei of the general's manor, eldest miss to the legal wife and Empress in waiting " he said,
"Wait here, I will have to confirm this first" the guard said before leaving, the night was chilling but no one came to attend to us after hours upon hours of waiting, I was literally freezing and felt like I might turn into a pillar of ice if they don't let us into the palace soon.
I lifted my knees up to the carriage seat and then wrapped my arms around my knees in other to reduce the biting cold that was threatening to immobilise me, my lips had become pale and my teeth were clashing against each other continuously, the night was too cold to the extent it felt unnatural especially since it wasn't time for the snowy season,
I couldn't help but wonder if someone was doing this on purpose and I wished so badly that I was a fire elemental now, I regretted not having one among my guards or maids but more importantly I hoped they don't freeze to death outside the carriage which will definitely be more chilling, I couldn't invite them in to join me and even if I did they wouldn't dare to join me inside the carriage.
I didnt understand why the palace people were wasting so much time to let us in but I knew with such treatment from the beginning that my future days in the palace won't be easy.
he said sternly,
After hearing what he said I stepped out of the carriage he said and turned to leave, I had long since paid the people hired so they all just left after I followed the guard into the palace.
He led me through so many passage way before we finally arrived at my temporal dwelling place as he called it,
once he left I excitedly entered my new room because I couldn't wait to get heated and rest but just as fast as I entered that's how fast, if not more that I ran out, This new place was totally not welcoming even a bit scary
I should have expected this I thought as I looked towards the room I just exited.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
