Chapter 98- NOSEBLEED

After Jiang left the imperial martial ground with his attendants, it was time for the rest servants who came to watch the battle to go back to their duty posts too.

Jiang instead chose to activate the movement aspect of the piercing tornado dance technique and soon Jiang was practically sprinting back to his present place of residence, and into the room given to him at the western wing, in the main time his attendants that were left in the dust by him had nothing to say about their master ditching them, it seems nothing Jiang does could ever surprise them, he was nothing like the other nobles and was always so unpredictable .

Jiang upon arriving in his room immediately got to work, he brought out the wine recipe and began studying it, he was certain making this special wine won’t take much of his time and so once he was done with it he could store it somewhere until the emperor’s birthday party, and then he will proceed with practicing the special air elemental dance technique he bought from the eastern palace treasury, he didn't want to embarrass himself during that occasion so he had to be ready at all angles.

Meanwhile at this time the emperor was back in his throne room and Fang Mu was sitting somewhere close to him as a man was lead by two palace guards to the entrance door of the throne room, then they retreated backwards and watched as the man walked inside the throne room with a smile that will most likely make people feel uncomfortable went over to the emperor and grabbed his left feet as he knelt, said man looked very unkempt, both his hair and robe where in a mess, however, it didn't seem to bother him, even as he approached the emperor.

“This humble servant have missed your majesty so very much, it's been so long that your majesty haven't sent for Xu Guo and this made Xu Guo feel very neglected, however, now it seems your majesty have also missed Xu Guo and can't bear to be apart” Xu Guo then rubbed his cheeks against the emperor’s leg which he held unto, he was acting like a cute dog who hadn’t seen its master for centuries and missed it very much, also Xu Guo's words were so ambiguous that anyone listening will probably think he has some kind of secret affair with the emperor, the emperor felt black lines forming on his forehead, he was just glad that his JiangEr wasn't present to witness this, he didn't want to be misunderstood.

Xu Guo after getting himself remained kneeling on both knee and dusted off imaginary dust from his unkempt robes, Xu Guo seems to be among the few people that could withstand staring into the emperor’s eyes for at least a few seconds before facing any kind of backlash and so this he had done frequently, making sure to remove his eyes from that of the emperor’s before he could face any backlash, normally staring at the emperor that way will be regarded as great disrespect, but Xu Guo wasn’t normal in the head and the same could be said about a whole lot of the emperor’s people, however, they all understood that they could only act this way because the emperor let them to and this they loved and respected about their ruler.

“If His Majesty didn’t call me here because he misses me then is it to reward me” Xu Guo acted like an excited child, a huge smile playing at his lips.

“Will you stop acting dumb, why will the emperor wish to reward you? your crime is tantamount to treason and the only reason you are not in the torture chambers right now is because his Majesty permits it” Xu Guo gave the impression that he was very confused at what Fang Mu had said and this made Fang Mu let out an irritated grunt, he never liked the guy because he was all too creepy.

Neither, Fang Mu or Xu Guo realized that all this while the emperor’s mind wasn’t with them because he was thinking of his earlier encounter with Jiang, the way his fingers grazed those thin sexy lips as he attempted to feed Jiang that pill, at that time he really wanted to forget where they were and kiss Jiang senseless, he had missed his so damn much all this while he was away and if not for the fact that this matter couldn’t be postponed any longer since Xu Guo had been locked up by his order until this moment, the emperor would have dragged Jiang back and done some very sexy things with him after his battle with the princess the emperor couldn't remember her name.

Seeing Xu Guo's present expression due to his actions made the emperor frown even more "Will you stop doing that puppy teary eye thing, it doesn’t look good on you” the emperor reprimanded Xu Guo who indeed was behaving like a very aggrieved child after listening to what the emperor had to say.

Xu Guo sniffed before complaining “Why doesn’t it look good on me? Are you trying to say that such expressions can only look good on your beloved, that’s not fair your majesty”

Fang Mu rolled his eyes at Xu Guo’s attics, he always felt exhausted when handling him “Xu Guo, shouldn’t you be more worried about the reason why you are here, the same reason that led to your lock up at the imperial dungeon” Fang Mu tried to redirect the interrogation towards the right direction, that is if he could even call this an interrogation, he felt like the emperor wasn’t acting like he normally would to someone who supposedly committed such a grievous crime.

Xu Guo sniffed again and then said “Your Majesty, all that I did was for your good”

“How is selling a harmful pill to a delusional young lady who clearly has me as her target good for me Xu Guo” the emperor emotionless questioned.

“Well, your Majesty, remember that time you came to me in confidence about your little problem with your empress elect and how you couldn’t get close to your beloved without having that berserk urge to harm her despite not really wanting to, you said it must have had something to do with a vow you made to the heavens” Xu Guo amongst many others still didn’t know Jiang's true gender, their empress elect was still young mistress Lei Yue in his eyes so he still referred him as the misses that he thought he was, the emperor told him he made a vow but never really told him the details of the vow he made but just the problems he was facing as a result of the certain vow, Xu Guo found it hard to work with such little information, however, he did so anyway, Xu Guo wasn’t considered the most talented in his element for nothing.

“Xu Guo, get to the point before I decide to quickly pass judgment against you and considering you haven’t said much in your defense, your punishment certainly won’t be light” The emperor stated quite frankly.

“Your Majesty’s problems have always been mine as well, so Xu Guo started thinking of a way to solve it and the curse aphrodisiac pill was what Xu Guo could come up with, your Majesty came to Xu Guo because curses are like vows as well, they are entwined in may ways and so your Majesty believed in Xu Guo, which by the way till this very day makes Xu Guo feel extremely loved, cherished and appreciated, your Majesty felt that if they was anyone that could assist your Majesty then that person will be Xu Guo and so how could Xu Guo afford to fail your Majesty, Never!” Xu Guo dramatically exclaimed.

“So you couldn’t just give the pill to Zhen but instead chose to give it to young mistress Liang Na, Why?”

Xu Guo was now screaming and crying for mercy while the emperor with his purple robes and red hair combined with fiery red blazing eyes stood up from his throne chair and gallantly walked towards the burning and screaming Xu Guo, he looked even more breathtaking as he stood beside that purples flames that matched his flowing purple robes “Your Majesty, are you really trying to murder Xu Guo” Xu Guo lamented while tapping his body in a futile attempt to put off the flames, the putrid smell of burning flesh traveled through every corner of the throne room, normal people would have wanted to puke just by perceiving such a disgusting smell but that wasn't the case for cultivators like the emperor who actually found pleasure in watching things burn, living or otherwise.

“If you talk anymore nonsense I most certainly will murder you, Xu Guo” with that said the emperor retracted his flames, Xu Guo threw a pill into his lips and his charred skin visibly started healing but the effects of this pill wasn’t as good as the one the emperor had given Jiang previously because Xu Guo’s scars were still there and will probably take a while to completely disappear.

“Xu Guo just wanted to help” Xu Guo said in a pitiable tone but silence was all he got and it was killing Xu Guo, he knew maybe before he wasn’t in such much of a trouble until he mentioned the forbidden word, still he didn’t mind much but right now he couldn’t imagine what was going on in the emperor’s mind, nevertheless he guessed it was along the line of what punishment he will be receiving for his audacity, he understood that with the emperor’s personality he might be lenient with him, however the emperor’s light punishments in normal instance weren’t so light, moreover, he wasn’t so such that that will be his case, Xu Guo hated pain and had to plead his case further.

“Your Majesty, with that curse pill your vow is momentarily broken and you can approach your empress elect as you please, however, in a month’s time or so since the last time you took the pill, that urge will come again and it will be that way for presumably a year, you will need more of that pill” Xu Guo tentatively mentioned this as if he was doing it in passing.

“Are you trying to trick Zhen?”

”Xu Guo can never trick Zhen because Xu Guo will most certainly be caught in no time”

“It’s good that you know that there is no point in hiding anything from Zhen, okay, since you so casually mentioned how Zhen will be needing more curse pills from you, Zhen will be punishing you with the production and handing over of a hundred curse aphrodisiac pill every week to Zhen, if you fail to bring the required quota to me on or before the required day then you will be charged with twenty percent increase in the pills that you were to handover before the deadline, also Zhen will then decide when the term of your punishment ends”

Xu Guo was so excited and rushed to grab and kiss the emperor’s feet, he was weird like that “Thank you your majesty, Xu Guo knew that your majesty won’t be so hard of Xu Guo, so Xu Guo will get on with his punishment immediately”

Xu Guo then brought out a paper from his storage space and said “These are the items needed to make the curse aphrodisiac pill your Majesty, Xu Guo will need them to be sent over on time so that Xu Guo meet the deadline” Xu Guo ignorantly smiled as he said this.

“Idiot” Fang Mu whispered as he palmed his forehead.

The emperor pointed to the pill recipe paper outstretched towards him by Xu Guo and said with a devilish smile playing on his lips “The herbs and whatever you will need to make the pills during the term of your punishment will be provided by yourself, so take that from Zhen’s presence before Zhen decides to change your punishment to something like burning inside the eternal fire for a century” the paper on Xu Guo hands quickly disappeared faster than the speed of light could travel.

“Before you are dismissed, handover the curse aphrodisiac pills you have on you and they do not count as the quota you are to handover to me before this week runs out” The emperor said

“How did you know Xu Guo has any present now?” Xu Guo was surprised; and wanted to know, however the emperor didn’t answer him.
