《The Last Lycan Alpha King》Chapter 19

Rosalie's POV
"I think someone is following me." I spat out.
"What do you mean?" Martha furrowed her eyebrows confused.
"I've been having this strange feeling lately that someone has been following me." I told her.
"You are just paranoid." She huffed.
"That's what I thought too till I saw him."
"Him, who?"
"I don't know but he looked suspicious dressed in all black looking at us."
"Oh my goodness Rosalie you do realize this is a big city right." She said in a duh tone. "And unlike your small town people here dress in all black and look at people that doesn't make them suspect of following you."
"I know what I'm talking about Martha, someone is following me." I huffed in annoyance at her not believing me.
"Ok." She nodded getting up.
"We need to be careful you know."
"Last I checked you said "he's" following you not us." She air quoted the he.
"Martha I'm serious." I glared.
"Can we do this tomorrow cause I swear I'm so tired." She gave me a quick side hug before saying goodnight and retreating to her bedroom.
Sighing I went to my room, took a cold shower and got into bed and tried to sleep but like always my thoughts went to my son, I couldn't help but wonder if he ever thought of me and missed me as much as I missed him, or if him and Dash were bonding and getting to spend a lot of time together trying to cover for the time they never got all thanks to me.
"He obviously misses us, he's our pup"
"I highly doubt that" I sighed. "I messed up big time and he'll hate me for it for the rest of his life."
"No he won't at least not after he finds out what his so called father did to us."
"He can't know about that, I don't want him to hate Dash over a mistake that I made."
"It wasn't your mistake."
"How do you know, you where never there and I don't remember anything, maybe I did cheat on him." The thought alone of knowing I might have probably slept with his enemy made my heart ache.

Not wanting to talk about Dash anymore I took some strong sedatives and fell into a dreamless sleep just like every other day.
"Glad to see you slept well." Martha smiled as I walked into the kitchen.
"Yeah." I nodded. I never told her I was on sedatives and I never planned to, she would be so disappointed in me.
"Here." She put a plate of scrambled eggs with beacon and pancakes infront of me.
"That's too much." I frowned.
"Girl you need to eat, look at you, you've lost so much weight." She motioned to my body.
She was right, I had been losing more and more weight as days went by because of lack of appetite and that resulted into my body looking pale and skinny.
"I just don't feel like eating." I sighed. As much as I wanted to eat I couldn't, I just lost my appetite.
"If you keep starving yourself you'll end up worse than a skeleton and imagine how Cage would feel seeing you like that." She sighed placing a glass of juice beside the plate. "If you can't do it for yourself then at least do it for your son."
Sitting down I got a fork and forced as much food as I could into my mouth, I knew fully well that Martha was right and if ever was going to get my son back I needed as much energy as I could.
"Good girl, now about last night, were you serious?" She asked sitting beside me with a plate of her own.
"The following you issue, were you serious?" She clarified when I kept looking at her in utter confusion.
"Oh that, you were probably right, I might just be paranoid." I shrugged. Last night I had come to a conclusion, I might have just been paranoid and thought some innocent person was following me.
"Don't worry, you'll get used to it with time, the people in this town are weirdos" she chuckled.
"Yeah, I guess." I forced a smile and focused on my food.
Dash's POV
"Daddy." Cage called as he entered my office.

"Yes champ what's up?" I smiled pulling him onto my lap. "What's wrong?" I frowned seeing the frown on his face. Cage never frowns.
"I went home-" he sighed deeply.
"Home?" I asked confused.
"Mummy's home." Tears welled in his big eyes. "She wasn't there anymore." By the end of the sentence he broke into tears.
"No champ no, don't cry." I hugged him.
"She left me" he cried. "She doesn't want me anymore."
"Don't say that champ, she wants you."
"No she doesn't, she left me!" He yelled.
"She hasn't left, she's just on a business trip in another pack." I lied not wanting him to cry as it broke my heart. "She'd never leave, she loves you way to much."
"Really." He sniffed.
"Yeah, she loves you a whole lot." I kissed his forehead.
"I thought she left." He sighed with relief washing over him.
"Who left." Penelope asked walking in.
"My mummy." He told her and she diverted her shock filled eyes to me.
"What?" She asked in barely a whisper.
"I went to our house earlier today and found my mummy wasn't there, I thought she left me but she hasn't, she's just away on business right daddy?" He turned to me and I nodded.
"Yes, champ, that's right."
"She loves me too much to leave." He smiled widely making Penelope fake a smile.
"I'm going to watch a movie wanna join?" He smiled widely at me.
"Sure, I'll be there in 10." I smiled back.
"Ok." Cage got off my lap and run out of the office.
"Stop looking at me like that." I growled at Penelope who was glaring at me.
"You are lying to him." She spat after closing the door and turning back to me.
"So." I rolled my eyes at her.
"So, what happens when he finds out the truth!"
"Mind your tone Penelope and he won't find out the truth."
"He will Dash, sooner or later, he's smart."
"What do you want me to do, tell him his mother fucking left because of me so he can despise me for the great of his life!" I growled.
"I didn't say that." She sighed taking a seat in front of me.
"There's nothing I can do." I sighed.
"So what happens if he-"
"He won't, she'll be back." I interrupted her.
"How sure are you?"
"One hundred and ten percent, she has no family out there, she's definitely going to come back."
"She left cause she felt she didn't have family here either."
"She'll come back."
"you are probably right, it's temporary knowing her she'll come back for Cage, parents have a special bond with their pups." Penelope smiled and I couldn't help but scoff at her statement. "What, it's true." She defended herself.
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes.
Her theory is something I never believed in after my mother decided to abandon me without an ounce of remorse.
"What did you come here for?" I pushed all the past memories away and focused on the papers in front of me.
"Angelo's birthday is coming up and I wanted you to help me coming up with a surprise party for him.
"Let's talk about this later." I got up. "I have a movie to watch with my son."
"I wanna join." She followed me into the theater room where the tiny little being I had grown to love so much was seated.
"What movie are we watching?" I asked as I flopped onto the couch beside him and Penelope on the other.
"Mission impossible" he beamed with a mouthful of popcorn.
"Don't talk with your mouth full." I told him and he rolled his eyes.
"You sound just like mummy." He teased making Penelope burst into a roar of laughter.
"No I don't." I frowned.
"Yes you do." He chuckled.
"Oh hush." I too laughed and we turned back to the movie.

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’

While the entire series story has undergone major changes in the last year, all books have been planned since the beginning of writing. It is also my second wish to eventually make this story into a webcomic, either by myself or with a team if possible. Thank you for taking this journey with me, and enjoy reading! ( You can alternatively read books in the series as standalone fictions, but they connect to one another though a running theme and mystery that evolves and progresses with the main character. ) Alternate Blurb for the Singularity Cycle series: Essairyn had never felt truly alive on Earth. It felt like something was missing ever since she was born, but even after nearly 20 years of mundane living, she could never pinpoint what this or the emptiness in her heart was. Suddenly, she awakens in a grandiose, primordial forest and encounters mythical creatures beyond her restless imagination in a parallel world called Sol'h'meyr. She befriends, in particular, a sassy fox-spirit named Akari who reincarnated after three millennia. Essairyn is gifted with abnormal magic, and Akari is being chased by those of her dark past. Together, they set out on an adventure in a world more dangerous than its beautiful facade could hide. Finding new friends along a path riddled with tragedy, Essairyn must learn who to trust as deceit and betrayal lie behind kindly faces. Life in this deceptively promising world slowly spirals down a path of no return. This is not a game, but cruel reality. Her simple adventure became the modest beginnings in a chain of disruptions that tore even the dimensional fabric of time and space. No one, not even Essairyn, was who she thought they were. And not even the fickle gods could change the time-worn destiny of the universes... A single promise shook eternity’s existence.

Long Island
Long Island was not the first virtual reality game or to say a VRMMORPG. Not the one which changed the world and became a legend. No, it was made when there were lots (quite a few) of virtual reality games already on the market. Each game had its own unique AI feature, its own unique adventure, promising everyone a chance to become King, if not a God. In such a time Long Island was made. Just a little different, just a little unique. Swamy was starting his own adventure, in life and in game.Note - Thanks @DameCarnelian for the cover. Just so people don't get confused, that ship is not Raka's ship :)
