《The Last Lycan Alpha King》Chapter 37

Rosalie's POV
I stared at the testing stick in my hands again but barely saw a thing as my vision was blurred with the tears forming and rolling down my cheeks.
I was pregnant again.
"No." I sobbed. I didn't want to be pregnant again at least not now when everything in my life was so messed up.
Huddling on the ground I kept crying.
"Why am I so naive." I cried.
"Rosalie it's not your fault." Normy cooed but I blocked her out, I didn't need her talking to me.
"Rose are you in here." Penelope's voice called followed by the sound of a closing door echoing.
Getting up quickly I stuffed the testing stick in the pocket of my jeans and wiped off the tears on my face.
"Yeah." I answered making sure I sounded ok.
"Mummy are you ok now?" Cage's small voice asked.
"I'm fine baby." I responded opening the door to face the 2 wearing worried expressions on their faces.
"You look pale Ro." Penelope caressed my skin.
I did notice it myself but brushed it off thinking it's because I had been working really hard for the past weeks.
"It's because I've been working too hard." I lied.
"Woman you need to stop stressing yourself out." She huffed. "You keep working your ass off and not bothering about your health." She kept rumbling and I paid no mind as I caressed Cage's hair.
"I'm calling Charlie to go you a checkup." She huffed making my heart skip a beat.
"What no!" I grabbed the phone in her hands. "Penelope I'm ok, I just need a lot of rest, water and good food."
"You need a checkup." She tried to grab the phone back but I didn't let her.
"I'm just fatigued Penn, I'll be fine I swear."
"You've been saying that for a while now but you still aren't getting better." Cage chimed in with a frown on his face. "Just go and see a doctor."

"Ok." I sighed not wanting to worry my son any further. "I'll go and see a doctor later ok."
"Great." His frown turned into a smile and I smiled too. "Now let's go and eat I'm starving."
Holding his hand in mine we went to the kitchen and had breakfast before he left for school.
I needed something to get my mind off the whole pregnancy issue so I went to my house and started working on some dresses I had yet to finish.
Standing in the full-length mirror I untucked my shirt from my jeans and lifted it up revealing my bare stomach.
"You have the worst timing possible." I scolded becoming teary. "What am I even going to do with you."
Just the thought of another being growing inside me had me crying. I wasn't ready to have another baby with Dash especially now that our lives were so complicated. I didn't want to bring a baby into this world only to make it suffer plus Cage was only 5 years old and I'm sure he didn't want to have a baby sister/brother.
"What if he does want one?" Normy spoke in a whisper.
"He doesn't, especially since he only recently got to know his father and wouldn't want another child stealing his attention, I know I wouldn't."
"You don't know that for sure, ask him first."
"Yes ma'am." I chuckled before turning my attention back to my stomach, it was still flat but in a few weeks I was sure it was going to start showing.
The thought of this pregnancy had me reminiscing over Cage's pregnancy. It was the toughest and saddest yet most beautiful journey of my life, damn I still remember how terrified I was upon finding out.
"Are you gonna tell him?" A voice spoke startling me.
I was caught in a trance so much so I didn't even hear or sense someone walking in.
"Goodness!" I held by hand against my chest panting. "You scared me."

Turning to see who it was my eyes almost fell out of their sockets, it was Evita.
Dressed in a pair of dark jeans and shirt with he hair in a tight ponytail stood leaning against the doorframe staring at me with her piercing eyes that reminded me of Dash.
"Some werewolf you are." She scoffed walking past me and taking a seat on the peach coloured couch but not before taking a good look at whole place.
"May I help you?" I furrowed my eyebrows confused.
"Can't you as much as offer me a drink first." She snorted and added the last part quietly. "Kids of nowadays have no respect whatsoever."
"Pardon my manners." Before I could leave she stopped me.
"Green tea with 2 sugars." Her voice was so commanding I couldn't help but obey.
Quickly making the tea I places it on a tray along with some cookies I had made for Cage the previous day and took it to her.
Taking a sip of her tea Evita turned her to face me.
"You're pretty." She took another sip.
"Thank you." I spoke unsure if that was how I should respond.
Sitting on the couch beside hers I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable especially under her gaze. I wanted this to end as soon as possible but sadly Evita didn't seem to feel the same as she continued to make herself comfortable. Sighing I fixed myself a cup of tea myself, it always helped when I was nervous.
"So you're pregnant again and I'm guessing my son doesn't know, no?"
Her questions made me choke on the burning hot tea I had in my mouth.
"I'm guessing you haven't." She shook her head.
"Because I'm not pregnant." I stated trying to act unaffected by what she said.
"Pregnancy isn't a secret one can hide for long." She paused intensifying her stare. "Unless you plan on aborting it that is."
"No." My hand almost immediately went to my stomach and clenched it at the word abortion. It scared me.
"Rumor has it you never told Dashiell about your pregnancy or the fact that he had a son." She straightened her back. "Knowing him, he might have forgive you once but he won't should you hide this one from him too." As she said her sentence her eyes moved from my face to my shirt covered stomach.
"How many months along are you?" She asked.
"I don't know." I chewed on my lip. "I only found out today."
"2 grand children already." She looked at her hands. "I'm getting old."
"You don't look a day over 30." I told her the truth.
With her slender figure, tall height and good skin she could pass off as a 25 year old.
She chuckled lightly before her face turned serious again. "How old are you?"
"21."
"Meaning you had my grandson at what, 17?"
"Yes ma'am." I gave a curt nod.
"You're very young and talented too, judging by all your work here of course."
"Thank you." I blushed.
Rumor had it she was a very difficult woman to please and her liking my work meant a lot.
"Dashiell is a complete imbecile for choosing that barbie doll over you." She sighed. "But what can you say, apples never fall far from the tree."
Getting up she straightened her clothes and I also stood following her to the door where she turned to face me.
"One piece of advice, don't let anything or anyone drive you away from your path, always fight for what you love especially your kids, it's better to be dead knowing you fought for them than alive dying with guilt." And without as much as a goodbye she left leaving me to my thoughts.
