《Bushes - A Hot Chelle Rae Fanfic (Ryan/OC)》Chapter 13

The next day, everyone was woken up much too early for their liking. But their manager, Jason, wasn't going to budge and made sure everyone was up in time for sound check. Maddie made sure to busy herself, so that way she could keep her mind off things. She made her way to the kitchen to make some coffee. A few minutes later, the guys joined her, catching the scent of the brewing coffee.
"You're the best, Maddie." Ryan said, yawning while he poured himself a cup. She smiled before kissing his cheek and sitting down next to Jamie at the table, also yawning.
"Why are you two so tired, anyway?" Ian wondered skeptically.
"We went to the beach last night and didn't get back until around five."
"You went to the beach in the middle of the night?" Nash asked, raising his eyebrows. Maddie and Ryan both nodded, smirking.
"You guys are weird," Jamie mumbled, which resulted in a punch to the shoulder, courtesy of Maddie. "Hey!" He whined, rubbing the spot where she hit him.
"Oh, you'll get over it," She said laughing. The caffeine had finally just hit all five of them, and they were beginning to feel more awake. Which was probably a good thing because Jason yelled from the back of the bus that sound check was in a few minutes.
"Do you think my parents are going to be here?" Maddie asked Ryan quietly.
"I don't know, babe. But think of it this way," He said, wrapping his arms around her. "If they are here, what's the worst they can do? Yell at you? You're eighteen, in fact you'll be nineteen in a few days. There's nothing they can do. Besides, there's no way in hell I'd let them take you away from me, okay?"

"Okay," She whispered, pressing her lips to his softly.

Maddie fiddled with her camera as the guys took their place onstage for the show. The crowd was screaming as soon as they heard the intro to Bushes, their opening song. As Ryan began singing the first verse, Maddie snapped a few pictures of them and the crowd, from the side of the stage where she was standing. She quickly scanned the crowd, searching for a balding middle aged man and a dark haired, stout woman, also known as her parents. From her quick look over, she didn't see them, not that it really mattered though, because the show was sold out and there was a lot of people here.
She took a deep breath, shaking the thoughts from her head, remembering what Ryan said. She was a legal adult, and legally there was nothing they could do. Rather than continuing to think through every possible scenario, she focused her attention back on the guys.
"I feel the freedom as we chase after bright city lights
The skys filled with stars on parade
For the moment in the scene where the dreams come to life,
I know that we'll never be safe
As the sun comes to take you away"
Ryan's eyes locked with hers, and he grinned. This song was the one that described their relationship perfectly. She returned the grin, remembering all of those late nights sneaking out of her window to see him.
The rest of the set was a blur; the crowd was amazing, the guys were their best yet, and Maddie snapped some great pictures.
"Thank you Michigan, we had a great time! You all are amazing!" Ryan shouted into the microphone before jogging off stage to where Maddie was standing, and grabbing his water bottle from her.

"You guys did great!"
"Thanks, babe." He said grinning. "We'll get going as soon as we're done meeting fans, okay?"
"That sounds good, I'll wait on the bus." She replied, turning to go back to the bus before he grabbed her arm and spun her around, pressing his lips to hers.
"I love you," He smiled.
"I love you, too." She replied, also smiling, before going back to the bus.
Ryan grinned at her retreating figure and followed the three guys to where all of the fans were waiting with anticipation.
After twenty minutes, and hundreds of pictures and signatures, they were done meeting every fan. That was always one of the most rewarding parts of being in a band, Ryan decided.
He caught up with Jamie, and followed Ian and Nash back to the bus. But before he was even halfway there, he heard someone call his name. Ryan stopped and turned around, finding himself face to face with Maddie's dad.

Serenity of the Crow
Fena can’t die. To most, this might be considered a blessing. To others, a curse. Fena doesn’t really care what other people call it: for her, it’s reality. She’s content to keep her head down while working for the Mercenary Guild, but a new contract arrives that threatens to drag her back to a past she wants nothing to do with. Haunted by her own thoughts and a crow that never seems to shut up, Fena is caught between confronting her past and preventing it from ever happening again. Indigo is alone. Her adopted mother is gone, and the witch that never gets her pronouns right is currently the most popular researcher at the Royal Academy. Worse still, she suddenly finds herself with shoes to fill that are so enormous they’re more like a swimming pool, while that same witch flaunts a research project that could get them all killed. With the expectations of her entire sect weighing on her like a lead weight, will Indigo sink or swim? Can she stop the White Witch’s project before it’s too late? Or will the twisted politics of the Royal Academy prove too much? This is my first published story, so hopefully it goes well! I welcome constructive criticism, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and theories about where the story is headed! WARNINGS:This story contains references to depression, anxiety, panic attacks, self-harm, sexual abuse and manipulation. I WILL mark trigger warnings on the chapters that contain such content, but read at your own risk. Additionally there will be plenty of violence and gore but I promise to put it to good use. The good news: He won't be alone. An entire class of strangers will be thrown together, young men and women all with the dream of becoming licensed Heros. They will be forced to either sink or swim (sometimes literally), but for most, their greatest challenge will be each other. The bad news: Someone is working behind the scenes, manipulating people and events towards some unknown goal. Are they on the side of the students? Or are they preparing to bring down the next generation of heroes before they can even graduate? A story based in the world of Drew Hayes "SuperPowereds" Series, this is my attempt at a fan-fiction that holds very close to the canonical worldbuilding already done. I hope you enjoy.
