《Bushes - A Hot Chelle Rae Fanfic (Ryan/OC)》Chapter 14

"We need to talk," Maddie's dad, Peter said. Ryan swallowed nervously and nodded, following him a good distance away from the tour bus.
"I'm just going to get right down to it," He said, glaring at him. "We want Maddie to come home. But we know she won't listen to us, so we need you to talk to her."
"Why would I do that?" Ryan asked harshly. This really was unbelievable. Did he really think that he'd tell Maddie to go back to her parents house? She 's been gone for almost a month now and they haven't tried contacting her even once - up until now. Although Ryan wouldn't call this contacting her, since they were going through him.
"Because you're holding her back and stopping her from moving forward with a career." He replied, pulling out a white envelope and handing it to Ryan.
"What's this?" He asked frowning.
"Open it."
Ryan did as told and pulled out the letter that was inside.
"She got accepted into Stanford..." Ryan muttered as he scanned the letter. He smiled to himself, knowing how great of a college it is. "Does she know she got in?"
"No, we didn't tell her. It's not like it would even matter because we already knew she'd choose you over college. And that is the reason we need you to talk to her," Peter urged, grabbing the letter back. Ryan bit his lip, conflicted; he just couldn't organize his thoughts.
"It'd be selfish not to talk to her, and you know it," He urged, sensing the hesitant look on his face. "Do you love my daughter?"
"More than anything," He replied immediately with a small sigh.
"Then you would let her go. You wouldn't want to keep her from this incredible opportunity. Just hear me out, Ryan. I want her to be happy just as much as you do. Her mother and I only want what's best for her. Taking pictures of her boyfriend's band isn't a career; it's not going to get her far in life. Maddie can do so much better than this kind of lifestyle, and deep down you know that too. That's why you're hesitating. If you truly do love her, you'd let her go." Peter let his words sink in before adding, "I believe you'll make the right decision." And with that, he turned around and walked away, leaving Ryan alone with his thoughts.

He ran his hands through his hair, unable to get his thoughts together. He had no idea what to do. Maddie was his everything - he was nothing without her. But Peter was right about a lot of things - he was holding her back, she could do so much better and it'd be selfish to not tell her to go. Maybe telling her to go would be for the best. It's not like they couldn't work through a long-distance relationship - they have before.
But Ryan knew it wouldn't be that easy. Maddie is unbelievably stubborn, and won't want to leave; especially when she finds out her parents were behind this. So he would have to be careful with what he said, and make her think it was all his idea for her to go back home.
He didn't like the idea, in fact he really hated the idea of it - but that's what you have to do when you love someone, right? Let them go, just like Peter said. Even if it made you miserable, it'd be worth it as long as the other person was happy. Love is all about making sacrifices - you have to give more than you take.
Ryan took a few more deep breaths in attempt to calm himself and made his way back to the bus, preparing himself for the conversation to come.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!

Re:Serpent, the Struggles of a 'Snake' to Survive and Evolve...
*Heyo, Evil Overlord here. As some may know, I am the main editor of VanZans, and his fiction, Those Who Aspire to Become Gods. If you do not know, check his work out and see for yourself. This is my first story to test my skills as a writer and a story teller. This may or may not be continued depending on my choice, and available time I have.*Hello, ghost audience, my name is Heibai. It stands for black and white in Chinese, and yes I am Asian, though I grew up in America. I was an orphan, now adopted into a rare family dojo in Chinatown in a certain state. Now I am reincarnated into a 'snake'...killed by a goddamn truck, conjured by fate's sick sense of entertainment, and died attempting to save my sister (she is not related by blood by the way) when I tried to shield her from harm, and here I am...in a new world, primitive, war-torn, and semi-corrupt. Disgusted by the contents of this fantasy world, I must survive and discover the truth to my sudden...rebirth...and find my sister if she is also here, human or not. My main goal of this story...is to fight on and learn as much as I can, and my secondary goal, to see if I can return home...human or NOT.*Might include blood and some gore
