《After Dark {Jonah Marshall/Adam Marshall}》Content

"I know what you love. I know what you dread."
Adam kept running, all he could see was darkness ahead. Windows to memories that he tried so hard to forget. He kept seeing her. His shoes hit the ground as he tried to escape this hell. The voice kept getting louder and louder. "NOTHING IS WORTH THE RISK." That was all he could hear besides his own breath. His chest hurt, everything was throbbing. It felt like he was trying to run underwater, though. He couldn't escape the voice. The memories kept flooding his brain. He looked behind him and saw...an angel. Long, flowy blonde hair, and beautiful feathery wings. He stopped running, to stare. Once he stopped, he felt like he couldn't move again. He was frozen in place as this angel slowly approached him. Its face slowly turned into a grin, a small grin. The angel disappeared for a moment, along with everything else. Suddenly, a flash of red, as the memories became twisted and distorted, and the angel's face turned into a distorted grin, eyes wide open. Red, bloody hands reached up and grabbed him, keeping him in place, as the angel came closer and closer. "WAKE UP, ADAM." It began to shout. It was only a few feet away now, he had no idea what it would do once it reached him.
"WAKE UP."
"WAKE UP."
"WAKE UP."
"WAKE UP."
"WAKE UP."
"WAKE UP."
"WAKE UP."
...
"ADAM!"
Adam freaked out, waking up from this horrible nightmare. He looked over and saw Jonah, sitting next to him on the bench they had fallen asleep on. Jonah looked concerned, Adam had probably woke him up from how much he was moving. "Adam, holy shit are you okay? You were freaking out and breathing heavily." Adam looked around, making sure that this wasn't just another dream. "Adam???"
"Yeah, I'm-I'm fine, Jo. It was another nightmare, nothing I'm not used to." This wasn't exactly true. He had nightmares a lot, sure, but nothing like this. Nothing like this had ever happened before. He'd never felt such fear towards a nightmare, he'd never seen that thing. "Are you sure? You seem freaked out, more than usual."

"Yeah, I'm fine. What time is it, anyway?"
Jonah looked at his watch, which showed that it was about 12:15 in the afternoon. "I guess we should get going, huh?" Jonah nodded, and stood up before grabbing Adam's hand and leading him back to the car. "So, you ready to go back home?"
"I think so. I've had enough of the world for now." Adam grabbed the keys from Jonah's hand and sat down in the driver's seat. Jonah sat down in the passenger's seat and they began their way back home, which was quite a while away. Jonah was lost in thought, contemplating what he wanted to say. Was it really the right time? Should he even say anything about this? Maybe it was too early, he probably didn't reciprocate. Jonah looked up and over at Adam, who was focused on the road. "Hey, Adam? Can I talk to you about something when we get home? Just waiting in case you don't swerve into a tree when I say something." Adam glanced at Jonah quickly before looking back on the road. "Yeah, sure. Is it something bad, or can I save myself from a heart attack?"
"Hah! No, it's nothing bad, chill out. Just been on my mind for a bit."
"Then yeah, you can tell me when you feel like it."
"Cool."
Jonah looked out of the side window again, and was once again lost in his thoughts. Now his heart was racing, did he make the right choice? Hell, they barely just escaped an alternate attack less than 24 hours ago. What was the point? This was such a bad time to say anything, but it was too late now. He can't just chicken out, like usual. Not now, anyway.
Soon enough, they were pulling into the driveway of the apartment they had been renting, under a fake name of course. Adam turned off the car and got out, while Jonah took a bit longer, grabbing his stuff. Adam was curious now, what did Jonah have to say? How important was it? Was he messing with him? Both of their minds were filled with unanswered questions, as Jonah finally exited the car with his things. Adam unlocked the front door and they entered. Jonah went to his room to put away the stuff he had while Adam turned on the living room light and sat on the couch. He wanted to watch a movie but after that TV incident, he'd had enough of those things. He went and unplugged it, knowing he probably should have done that a while ago. He sat back down, and not too long later Jonah had returned from his room. Jonah sat down next to Adam on the couch, looking a bit like a nervous wreck. Adam was looking at him in curiosity. "So, what did ya wanna say?" Jonah's heart jumped, and he began fumbling over his words. "Well- I uhm- well, I just- I had some uh- things on my mind...you know? I-I just...well..."

"Spit it out before I slap it out of you-"
"Chill! I'm just..." He sighs, takes a deep breath, and continues. "I love you, dude. Like, a lot. More than just friends. I'm fine with you not liking me back, I know you're into girls. I just thought you needed to know that, okay? And, I'm completely sober, so I'll have to live with how this goes, so please spare my feelings."
Jonah laughed awkwardly at what he had said before looking away. An awkward silence began creeping up on them, and Adam didn't know what to say. He loved Jonah too but he had always pretended he didn't. He wanted to hide these feelings, and now he had his chance to stop hiding in a closet.
"I love you too, Jonah."
Jonah quickly looked back at Adam, who was now looking at him. "Did...did I hear you right?"
"I always loved you, Jonah. I kept pretending I didn't because I didn't think you would, and I didn't know how anyone would react. Now that it's just us, though...I do love you. The same way you love me."
Jonah just reached over and pulled Adam into a tight hug, which Adam gave back. Tears formed in his eyes as he felt happier than he had ever been. "God, I love you, man. I can't imagine what would've happened if I'd stayed down there. Thank you...for coming back for me." Jonah hushed him as he stroked his hair, Adam crying into his shoulder. "I could never actually leave you, that would be insane." Adam finally calmed down, as they stayed in their embrace.
"So, do I have your permission to...well..."
"To do what? Jonah, I just sobbed to you about how pathetic I am, I doubt your question is stupid."
"I guess so, I'm just nervous I guess."
Adam finally caught on as to what he meant. "Ohhh I see what you mean. Yes, you have permission." He laughed.
Jonah started panicking but this was his chance. He lifted Adam's head up, looked him in the eyes, and pressed their lips together. His lips were soft, he felt safe and happy. When they pulled away, Jonah laid his head on Adam and fell asleep. Adam felt content with his life for the first time in years. He grabbed Jonah's hand once again and fell asleep there with Jonah once more. This time, no nightmares.
Their fear was gone.

The Empty Valley Cries Unheard
The stories can be read at any order. Phew, this story was finally finished at last! What could I say, it was a hell of a ride when I wrote it from the beginning to end. Thanks for having me on RR :D All the current chapter had already done a run on Grammarly, so hopefully it'd be more readable. ...kinda feeling lazy so calling off the edits for now. A couple of old / new attempts of combining Horror, Comedy and Absurdist elements. I'm not very good at writing Horror stories but I'd like to try once in a while. Although the first chapter may be completely screwed up, believe me--I mostly write fluffy gay scenes between two girls. It would PROBABLY become a lot lighter as we moved up the chapter count. Not for the faint of heart, but if you're like me who like some absurd or nonsensical stories, this might be right up your alley. Sorry in advance if some of the chapters seem normal lol additional tags : nonsense / absurd / parody

The Novel's Extra's Extra
As a reader, Cristopher always looked for things that entertained him, didn't matter what the "critics" said, all that matters was his own opinion on the novel, so he started reading "The Novel's Extra", a webnovel that despicts an author who is transmigrated to his own novel. It was fun and all with its own good and bad points, really, one of his favorites novels at the end of the journey, and that's taking into account the little fact that he didn't have too many things he was able to enjoy, not in that empty shell that was called life for him... Why could someone be born like that? With a void inside, an endless void that slowly consumes oneself... But... for better or worse... everything changed one day, the same day he woke up to discover he had the same faith of the author whose novel he just finished reading, becoming an extra in a novel, becoming The novel's extra's extra... /Ok, now that's the description I thought of... first of all, for those of you who are reading this, if any, a few points I have to make clear: 1. I'm not an english native speaker, so if you find anything wrong in the text, please let me know, that would help me learn, and I would be thankful for that.2. I'm writting this out of pure "enjoyment", so while I'll try to be constant, I'll not make any promises.3. True reason why I'm writing this is because I'm going through a moderate to crippling depression right now (and no, is not because anything trully bad and horrendous happened to me, it seems to have something to do with my brain's malfuctioning, among other things), and doctors told me to try writing as I enjoy reading. So yeah, this is more like a self-help excercise, to keep myself distracted while trying to be safe from my self.4. I choose to make a fanfiction of "The Novel's Extra" as I don't trully know how to write, and because I really loved that webnovel, though there are some points I didn't particulary liked.5. If you see some (let's be clear, really much) self insertion on this series, well, that may be me trying to escape reality, to which I make an early warning and disclaimer, and also ask for forgiveness, as I said before, this is more of an excercise, so don't take it too serious.6. I'll be a slow writer, as I have to still check a few things from the novel, even when I've read it like 3 or 4 times already, and because I know shit about writing a novel or a series.7. If you get to enjoy this, then that's good, I would be glad about it, maybe even more motivated, but I don't really expect this to be any good. Thanks to you all who may, or may not, be reading this novel./
