Jonah uses any pronouns, though his preference changes depending on the day. He's diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and Borderline Personality Disorder, and has medication but does not take it due to forgetting. He has insomnia as a side effect but is not diagnosed or medicated. He is 6"3/190 CM, making him the tallest character in Cigarette Duet. He's known Adam since 5th grade, when they got into an argument and instead of fighting, they started laughing and became friends. Jonah tends to forget things often, and gets very faint easily, which is why he continuously forgets things throughout the entirety of Cigarette Duet. He's been writing poetry for about 3 years now, and is considered pretty talented by his teachers and peers. He has only ever shown one of his personal poems to Adam and considers his private poems VERY sacred, and no matter how close he and Adam are he will NEVER share these. Jonah in this AU is cinthean (exclusively attracted to non-women) and genderfluid. He's been dyeing his hair silver since he was about 9, and he is currently 17. At first he'd dye his hair blonde, but he much preferred silver since about 12, and he re-dyes his hair about 2-3 times a year, he would do it more often but he's rather forgetful and doesn't notice until either the bleach blonde shows through or until his natural black hair is prominent. Jonah doesn't even know his own middle name, he's never asked and it's never been used except for by his father, and he blocked that memory out completely. His favourite pen is a red fountain pen with golden trimmings and such, and it's dear to him due to him paying for it completely out of his own pocket despite his family being very well off. He's considered very humble by those around him, but honestly he just forgets that he can ask for pretty much anything, since his mother raised him to be responsible and he has his own job as a paid tutor. Jonah's car isn't anything special and all his clothes are cheap thrift finds, and a lot of this has to do with his anxiety around money. No one's sure where it came from since his financial situation at home has always been stable, but it's there. Most kids at school have no idea about his finances, and assume he's mid-lower class. He formerly had a nicotine addiction that he overcame using weed as a sort of escape.

Adam uses he/him pronouns. He's diagnosed with ADHD and schizophrenia and medicated for both. He is 6"2/188 CM, making him tied with Mervin Marshall for second tallest character in Cigarette Duet. He's known Jonah since 5th grade, when they got into an argument and instead of fighting, they started laughing and became friends. Adam, while his memory is normally good, has severe PTSD about the majority of his childhood and has completely forgotten his life outside of his friendship with Jonah as a child. Adam is a transgender man and didn't fully transition (like coming out with a new name to everyone) until 12, and he legally changed all his documents at 16 due to being emancipated, leading to him being considered a "legal adult." He lives on his own with no family around, as his mother died in a car accident and his father left before that, giving him to his grandparents. Adam's grandfather was emotionally abusive, and only rarely got physical with him, usually just burning him with cigarettes. He was eventually bounced around the foster system, which left him with severe abandonment issues and paranoia, as well as worsening his hereditary schizophrenia, before finally getting emancipated and receiving medical treatment. Adam is very out of touch with his emotions and usually blocks everything out, as well as sometimes resorting to underage (illegal) drinking to ignore his problems, though Jonah is helping him deal with this stuff. Adam has never smoked weed nor tobacco though he's perfectly fine with Jonah doing so. Adam has light freckles on his face that you can't really see unless you look closely. Adam is very self sufficient, his only issue is that he doesn't yet have a car but is saving up for one, so usually he rides a bus to get to work or school, though when it comes to school Jonah usually drives him these days due to the convenience and just wanting to see Adam. Adam tends to have nightmares, night terrors, and hallucinations fueled by his schizophrenia, and usually he calls Jonah since they happen mostly around 1-3 AM, when Jonah is usually still awake. Mervin never liked Adam due to knowing about his transition, however Delilah, not knowing Adam post-transition, still called him by his new name and pronouns due to Jonah referring to him as such, and her catching on pretty fast. Adam got stuck away from Jonah for about 2 years due to foster care, and as soon as he was emancipated he moved back as close as he could to Jonah. Adam has gifted kid burnout, and used to be an English "prodigy" before he ended up slacking due to burnout and stress. He's a B/C average student. He knows how to play acoustic guitar and has been practising for years, he has lessons every Friday.

Patricia Delilah Marshall, better known as Delilah, uses she/her pronouns. Delilah is canonically pansexual, not to the knowledge of her husband or her child. She works as a landscaper and is rarely, if ever home all but 2-3 days a year. She does her best to refer to Jonah with whatever pronouns he prefers for that day. Delilah is 5"10/177 CM.
