《lightning - jonah marais》chapter thirteen

"I don't think I'll ever get over how beautiful it is here." you breathed, looking out the window of your hotel room. The view was gorgeous, the buzzing city of London going on below you. Jonah came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist. "I could say the same about you, but you're right. It really is beautiful." he said and you shifted in his grip, your cheeks flushing at his compliment. "Every time we come to Europe it reminds me of how lucky we are to do what we do." he said quietly and you turn in his arms, bringing your hands up to his neck. "I'm so proud of you for doing what you do." you said and kissed him. He kissed back and honestly, it probably would've gone further if Jack hadn't burst through the door. "Ugh! Every time!" he exclaimed and you and Jonah laughed. "Maybe if you'd learn to knock." you said and he rolled his eyes jokingly. "You left the stopper on the door, but whatever. We're going out to eat if you lovebirds wanna join us." You opened your mouth to say yes but Jonah cut you off, "Actually we have plans, but we'll meet up with you guys later." You looked at him and furrowed your eyebrows together, "We do?" "Yes, we do." he said with a smirk on his face and Jack covered his eyes. "Alright, I'm outta here. Use protection!" he shouted on his way out and you buried your face in Jonah's shirt. He kissed your head and laughed, pulling away from you to sit on the bed. "What are these plans we supposedly have?" you inquired and he beamed up at you. "I'm taking you out on a date. We have reservations in an hour so I'm gonna let you get ready first because you take forever." he said dramatically and you shoved his shoulder on your way to the bathroom. You closed the door and looked in the mirror, silently geeking to yourself over Jonah's plans.

After the night of the storm, the boys had all come back to the house and already knew about you and Jonah. He told them on the ride over after the interview and they were really happy for you. They pretty much knew it would eventually happen, but to hear it was serious was awesome. Now all they did was fake gag over public affection and tease you guys. It was all fun and games though, and you were extremely happy with Jonah. You got yourself ready as best as you could with the little information he gave you about the date. You stepped out of the bathroom to see Jonah fixing his jacket in the mirror, but he stopped when he made eye contact with you in the reflection. "Wow," he said turning around, "you look incredible." You shook your head and smiled, "You're looking pretty good yourself, Marais." He grabbed both of your jackets and helped you put yours on, a true gentleman. He extended his arm to you and you took it gladly, making your way out of the hotel and onto the street of London. It was a fifteen minute walk to the restaurant that Jonah made the reservation for, and it was absolutley glamorous. You stood outside and admired the lights twinkling on the building, your jaw slightly hung open. Jonah opened the door for you and the hostess greeted you with her lovely accent. "Hi, we have a reservation for two, Jonah Marais?" Jonah said and she smiled, scanning the book in front of her. "Right this way." The hostess lead the two of you to your table and Jonah pulled your seat out, making you scoff at him. "I'll be right back with some menus for you." You resting your chin in your hand and stared at Jonah, a sparkle in your eye as he sipped his water. "What are you staring at?" he said with a smile and you bit your lip. "You. This place is amazing and you've been so sweet and we haven't even started dinner yet." Jonah took your free hand in his across the table and kissed your knuckles. "You deserve it. And I did promise to make up for me being a complete dick to you." he pointed out.

Dinner was delicious and Jonah insisted on paying for the both of you despite your pleas to let you split the check. The two of you left the restaurant and decided to walk around London, the night sky growing darker and stars peeking out from the clouds. You walked side by side, your hands intertwined. "Jonah?" "Yes, my love?" "I cannot believe this is real." Jonah squeezed your hand, "Can't believe what is real?" "Us. I've been dreaming of a moment like this since we were kids and now here I am, in London of all places, with you." you gushed and he kissed your cheek. "I'm a fool for not making it happen sooner." he sighed and you leaned your head on his shoulder. "Also, thank goodness for Caspary because I wouldn't even be here without him and the photography internship." Once you made it back to your hotel, Jonah went to the bathroom and was taking a while. You knocked on the door, "Jo? You good in there?" you chuckled and the door swung open. The jacuzzi bath was full of steaming water and bubbles, the scent of lavender filling the room. A pair of soft shorts and one of Jonah's t-shirts was folded on the counter for you, and Jonah stood in the middle of the room, smiling at you. You stared at him in disbelief and he just laughed, walking past you and kissing your temple. "You're a literal Disney prince." you said and he scoffed, "Yeah, I wish. Go ahead and relax for a bit, I'll be out here with a movie and cuddles waiting for you." You blushed and shut the door, stripping down and getting into the warm water. The water eventually cooled and you got out, actually feeling more relaxed than you were before. You changed into the clothes Jonah set out for you and brushed your hair and teeth, When you came out of the bathroom it was exactly what you were told it would be, a movie waiting to be played and a shirtless Jonah snuggled up in bed. You moved under the covers next to him and cuddled into his side, kissing his cheek a few times. The movie played and you felt your eyes growing heavier. You looked up to see Jonah half asleep and it made your heart melt. You left a light kiss on his lips and his eyes opened up, a smile growing on his face. "Sleepy?" you cooed and he yawned, "Very." "Turn off the lights then." Jonah flipped the lamp switch and the room went dark except for pale moonlight shining in through the curtains. You laid your head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat, the sound soothing you. "Thank you for today. I love you so much, J." you whispered and Jonah kissed the top of your head. "Anything for you. I love you more, goodnight beautiful."

Re-Ordaining of the Chosen
Alea cheerfully hummed as she descended the steps, brimming in upbeat while her colleague, Quarren Leos, shot her a look of skepticism. “So… were you right about him?” he asked doubtfully. She came to a stop for a moment, her humming falling silent before she shook her head, waving her medium length light-blonde hair from side to side. “I was wrong about him.” Quarren raised an eyebrow in confusion at the convoluted response.“But you seem quite happy?” he asked again. “Because I am. But I was wrong about him. He was… so much more than I ever expected.” Alea looked at the sky overhead with a smile. “That boy… no, that man, is amazing. I firmly believe he will come to stand on top of any adversary he faces. He is destined. He is Chosen.” Quarren snorted as he stepped past, shaking his head. “Okay. Each to their own beliefs but you’re sounding like a nutjob. That skinny twig? Everyone calls him a cripple, you know,” he shook his head.“Rumours are always false, Leos,” Alea answered with a disapproving shake of her head. “You wouldn’t know. He is so, so much more.” “I saw him with my own two eyes. I didn’t see anything redeeming,” Quarren rebutted. “Well…” Alea chuckled. “You haven’t seen what I’ve seen.” In the year 917 of the Imperial Calendar, the Great War had just ended between dozens of nations. Farrien welcomed home millions of troops and warriors with the Archdukes of Aerianne and Kanaria leading them at the forefront. Since the founding of Farrien, the Aerianne and Kanarian Archduchies have been pillars upholding the Kingdom from enemies. It was common belief that they possessed special blood blessed by the Goddess Stecia, who gifted the lineage to the first King of Farrien when he first founded the country. All were ecstatic when the current generation of the two Archduchy's, after the war, agreed to let their children wed. The excitement was short-lived however when the Aerianne Princess proved to be a dragoness among men but the Kanarian Prince was worse than even mediocre. The Prince disappeared and the wedding was shortly forgotten as society lived on. Until one day the Young Heir of Kanaria returned to Farrien a changed man, bringing demise with him. Follow the story of the Chosen ordained by the Goddess of Time as he returns to the past to right his wrongs and set things back straight again!
