"My next guest is someone I love, she does an incredible impression of me and is one of the most funny people I know, please welcome Kate McKinnon!", Ellen introduces enthusiastically, music starts playing and Kate walks out from back stage, stopping to dance to the music a little, before greeting Ellen with a hug and taking a seat opposite her, taking the opportunity to do a little bit of her usual impression, balancing on the arms of the chair before plopping down into the seat properly, already making Ellen laugh.
"Hi", Ellen greets her guest.
"Hiiiii", Kate replies, being her usual hilariously entertaining self.
"It's great to have you back".
"It's great to be back, I feel like I haven't been back here in years", Kate says, trying to think of the last time she was in this particular show.
"It's been a while, a lot has happened, you won another Emmy, congratulations by the way", Ellen starts the conversation.
"Thank you, yeah, that was fun", Kate says, ever modest about her achievements.
"And I believe further congratulations are in order", Ellen paused, "you got married recently, congratulations".
"Thanks, yeah, yeah, never thought it would happen but, here we are".
"Yeah, so uh, why wasn't I invited?", Ellen asked, acting serious.
"Well you see Ellen, there wasn't actually a wedding as such, it was, we were at the SNL end of season party and, some alcohol had been consumed, and it was pretty soon after Colin had gotten married, and everyone kinda started suggesting that we should do it and then Leslie mentioned she still had she marriage license, and then we were suddenly married", Kate explains.
"Suddenly, just like that?"
"Just like that, it all happened that night, there's an all night registry office that we went to, and then the party continued like nothing had happened", she explained further.

"Wow, okay, so it was quite spur of the moment then", Kate nodded, "had you thought about it before, like did you want to get married or did you not really care?", Ellen asked.
"Uhm, I guess I never really thought about it that much, I was never against it, but it wasn't something that I dreamt of and I think y/n was the same, she never said that she desperately wanted to get married but wasn't against it either, so when it was suggested and neither of us could come up with a reason to not get married we thought, you now, might as well, so we did", Kate shrugged and smiled thinking of her wife.
"I remember when you first met each other, I was there then, at the Elle's women in Hollywood honerees panel", Ellen continued the conversation.
"We actually had met before that, maybe a year before that, uhm, at an event, I can't remember what the event was, but we were introduced to each other, then swiftly dragged away", she does an action like she's being dragged away, for dramatic effect, "and I actually remember thinking, I'm probably never going to see her again, and I was really sad about that, because she's really pretty and I was a big fan of her work, I still am, but I thought, you know, that was my chance and it was taken away from me, but then there she was, a woman in Hollywood".
"And what happened at that panel that made you pursue her?"
"See this is what everyone gets wrong, I don't know why, but everyone seems to think that I was the one who pursued her, but it was actually the other way around", Kate explained.
"She pursued you?", Ellen asked.
"Yes, yes", Kate confirmed.

"So how did that happen?", Ellen pressed for more information.
"Well during the panel, someone, I think someone in the audience asked about what we would be doing if we weren't, you know, doing this", she gestured around herself as an explanation, "and she answered that she would want to be doing something that required her hands, like carpentry or metal work, because she enjoys making things".
"Making things?", Ellen interrupts.
"Yeah, like little wooden boxes and stuff, she's a very handy lady", Kate explained, "anyway, as she was saying this I was, I was sat, there was someone in between us, and as she said it I looked around the person at her just to make sure it was her saying it, and I was just like 'really?!', and she looked back at me, and she said yeah and then went on to explain that she'd made stuff before and she really enjoyed it, and then I was asking all these questions about the stuff she'd made, and I ended up just saying 'wow, you really are the perfect woman', and she just winked at me and then continued on with the panel like it was nothing, and it was at that moment, that I was just like, yup, she's the one, I need her in my life forever", she continued gushing about y/n, "then, after the panel, she came up to me and, she was so smooth, she was just like, I can remember exactly what she said, she said, 'hey, do you want my number, maybe I can send you some advice on your future woodworking projects, being the professional I am', and so we exchanged numbers, and we talked a lot about stuff that we'd been working on, then she was in New York, and she text me saying she was in town and asked if I wanted to hang out, to which I obviously replied yes, and I asked what she wanted to do, and she said that she'd looked up this woodworking class that we could go to, so we went and that was our first date", she finishes her story, "and every time I say that, people give me that look that just says, 'wow, you're that stereotypical?', yeah, I am Brian, get over it", she finally finishes.
"Yeah well that is pretty stereotypical", Ellen says, Kate agrees and they both laugh a little, "so in that moment you really knew?".
"Yeah, yeah, I don't know what it was, but I just remember, she winked at me and I had this feeling, and I blanked out a little just staring at her, just thinking, 'wow', and everything she's said since then I just fall more and more in love with her after every word, even now".

Hello ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to my first attempt at writing a novel. I am preparing to participate in the 2017 NaNoWriMo event so enjoy the first chapter as that's here early only to ensure that I have a place to post once the event starts. This means the first novel/book will have a target of 50,000 words. I'm excited to attempt this challenge despite the hurdles I will have to overcome. I do have a demanding full time job so planning time to write and make weekly releases starting in November will be my biggest challenge. Also, please accept my apologies on my cover. I'm not an artist and the only digital tool available at my disposal is the stock microsoft paint. So I did my best to create a decent cover as I did not want to steal the work of another. If there are those interested by the end of November in donating a new fan made cover then I will look into replacing the old cover.
