Two days after Bella's birthday, Charlie, Andromeda, Draco, the Golden Trio, Aquila and Bella are now sitting on a dinner that Narcissa is hosting. Bella was silent while everyone was sharing small jokes and pleasant conversations. Andromeda and Charlie were telling Narcissa how relaxing fishing is. The golden trio, Draco and Aquila were arguing about something that sounds like quesadillas for Bella and she couldn't keep up. She couldn't believe it when the adults joined the conversation of the teens. Even her father knows what they're talking about.
"Seriously Chudley Cannons are the best quidditch team!" Ron argued.
"I disagree, Weasley. Montrose Magpies are the best." Draco calmly retorted.
"Nah. Hollyhead Harpies are the best!" Aquila exclaimed.
"Only because Ginny is starting her training." Hermione said rolling her eyes.
"Well, Luna loves Hollyhead Harpies so I think that's the best team." Charlie said, trying to support his niece.
"I disagree, Charlie. Montrose Magpies are quite skilled." Narcissa said while slicing her steak.
"No, dear sister. Puddlemere United is the best." Andromeda contradicted after swallowing her food.
Their little argument was cut short by a baby's cry. Aquila stood up, excused herself and walked as fast as she could towards the nursery. Narcissa would have her head if she ran.
"Who's baby is that?" Bella asked.
"That's my grandson and Aquila's godson. She loves taking care of him." Andromeda answered Bella with a smile.
"Is that why she rarely sleeps at home?" Bella asked her father which Charlie confirmed with a nod.
It wasn't long until dinner was over but Aquila was still in the nursery. The cry of the baby no longer exists. The golden trio and the Swans went home. Narcissa was about to go to bed when she heard a knock on the door.
"Good evening Mrs. Malfoy. I hope I didn't disturbed you." Edward greeted. He didn't hide the fact that Aquila's family intimidates him, especially Narcissa.
"Edward. Are you here for Aquila?" The Malfoy matriarch asked. She was already used to him coming to visit and helping Aquila with babysitting Teddy.
"Yes, Mrs. Malfoy. May I?" Narcissa smiled at him and let him inside her mansion. She likes how gentleman Edward is. She was a hundred percent sure Edward would never hurt Aquila, partially because she already threatened him.
The sight that greeted Edward melted his heart. Aquila was humming to a sleepy Teddy with a smile on her face. His heart aches seeing her like this. She would be a great mother someday but he couldn't give her children.
These are the moments that would sometimes tempt him to leave her to have a normal life. Maybe if she breaks her heart, she'd someday get over him, find a normal human or wizard that isn't a killer. A person that can give her a normal life where they could grow old together. A man that can give him a family. Edward is a vampire, a soulless monster who is...undead.

But then Aquila would look at him with pure adoration in her eyes. Her actions would show how she accepts every inch of him. Her love doesn't have to be spoken but could easily have been felt by him. He couldn't leave her. He meant it when he said he doesn't have the strength to stay away from her. He knows he will run back to her and somehow he's sure she'll be waiting for him with open arms.
He quietly went behind her and hugged her while she still held Teddy in her arms.
"Good evening, my love." He said and kissed her shoulder. Aquila smiled and turned to meet his gaze then pecked his lips.
"Good evening, Mr. Cullen." Aquila said teasingly. Edward growled lowly at his mate.
The two were about to start teasing each other when a weasel patronus pranced towards Aquila.
"Aquila, you have to come here as soon as possible with Narcissa and Andromeda. The Wizengamot and the Ministry are in chaos because of the appearance of a baby.
Her name is Delphini Merope Riddle. She's the daughter of lord Voldemort and ... Bellatrix Lestrange."
Aquila almost stumbled back after hearing the news from Mr. Weasley. Thankfully, Edward caught her. She shakily put Teddy back in his crib. Edward assured her he'll take care of him. She nodded at him and called her aunts.
Andromeda was already pacing in the living room when Aquila tried to find her. Narcissa was already reading a letter with an owl from the Ministry. Draco was ready to go to sleep but Aquila burst into his room and ordered him to get dressed. The Blacks gathered in the living room as Edward was keeping an eye on Teddy with Kreacher appearing and packing some essentials per Aquila's request.
Andromeda was in daze. She couldn't believe it. "Bellatrix had a daughter." She said stating the huge elephant in the room.
"Mr. Weasley sent his patronus to me telling me the ministry and Wizengamot are in chaos because of her appearance. How do we not know about her?" Aquila asked.
"I have another cousin. A baby cousin from my psychotic aunt!" Draco exclaimed. He didn't know what he should feel. Aquila smacked him in the head.
"It doesn't matter if her mother is a sick bitch, sorry aunties. She's our family and we protect what's ours, always."
"Your cousin is right, Draco. This baby is innocent. We shouldn't punish the child for her parents' wrongdoing." Andromeda said with resolve.
"Apparently, Bellatrix gave birth a few days before the battle of Hogwarts. She had been wearing a glamour all this time. We never knew she was pregnant. Then the Rowle family tried to smuggle the baby out of the country but they were caught by the Aurors a few days ago. It was confirmed she was Bellatrix and Voldemort's daughter when they performed an inheritance test. The people feared what this child might bring once she grow up." Narcissa sighed. Her niece is barely a few months old and people had looked at her as if she was a criminal.

"I am not having this shit. Bellatrix Lestrange was a Black. I am the rightful heiress and current Lady of the most ancient and most noble house of Black. How dare they not inform me of a child that is supposed to be under my house? And to treat her like she did what Bellatrix and Tom did? They fear her as if she is a monster?" Aquila stated with fury. "Monsters aren't born. They are made. Dumbledore, as much as I respected him, is not as perfect as people deemed him to be. Tom Riddle once asked for his help but he refused and turned a blind eye. Dumbledore saw his death as a retribution not a heroic deed for he knew he failed to help Tom and indirectly causing Voldemort to exist. I will not let the magical community do the same to my Delphi. From now on, Delphi and Teddy are my responsibilities."
Narcissa looked at the girl she raised with pride. She trained her well. Aquila Callisto Black may inherit the mischief from her father but she was born to be the Lady of Ancient and Noble Houses. Narcissa made sure she is equipped to face the responsibilities and it is the Malfoy matriarch's greatest pride and joy to know that she raised her correctly.
For a split second, Andromeda saw a glimpse of Regulus Black in Aquila. Regulus was secretly as mischievous as his brother but he held this air of authority in him that no one in their family, not even his parents, could question. Sirius and Regulus might no longer walk the earth with them but they are alive. They live inside Aquila Callisto Black, the legacy of the house of stars.
Aquila wrote to the ministry of magic to grant her Delphini's guardianship but they denied, even Kingsley couldn't do anything yet for he may be the new minister but the ministry is still rebuilding itself and the power they held is not absolute. She told Charlie that she has to go back to Britain. She swore on her magic that this time, she wouldn't fight a war. But that doesn't mean she wouldn't be fighting a battle.
Although she is the rightful head of the house, wizards and witches still deem her to be too young to take the responsibility. Aquila called their views as pure bullshit. They didn't seem too young for them when the supposed adults of the wizarding world put the burden of saving Britain in their hands since they were eleven. They fought a war the same year they reached the age of seventeen. Students died at the battle of Hogwarts as they fought against death eaters double, or even triple their ages.
The wizards and witches went with her. Godric knows she might just destroy Britain herself if they reject her plea for they know family always comes first for Aquila, whether it is her family by blood or by heart. The Cullens also decided to come with them. They came to support Aquila. Also, they have to give their statements as to why they fought during the Battle of Hogwarts even though the Volturi already declared neutrality.
Aquila rolled her eyes at the Ministry's pathetic excuse of formalities. Can't they just thank those who actually help fight in the battle and saved their arse as they hide behind their desk and watch as death eaters infiltrate the ministry? They deem vampires, werewolves, veelas, centaurs and other beings as halfbreeds who are beneath them but they couldn't face the fact that those 'halfbreeds' actually help wizards and witches more than they help themselves.
And now that though reminds her of Umbridge and how she wants to crucio her. But being put in Azkaban for a lifetime isn't worth it for a pink toad called Dolores.
Nonetheless, the town of Forks was confused as to why the newcomers and the Cullens disappeared too soon. Charlie brushed them off and only told them it's a private matter. No one expected that they wouldn't be back for months.
_____
Fun Fact:
Bellatrix also named Aquila as her daughter's godmother in case anything goes wrong with the Dark Lord's plan to dominate the world. She might be insane but she's still a Slytherin and making sure her daughter still has a future if she fails is a must.

The Queen's Guard
Friedrich Schreiner is a proud gefreiter of the Queen's Guard, 2nd Company: the finest fighting infantry on the continent (barring the Temple Guard; but please don't bring that up). Service is honourable but, with the Empire on a peacetime footing, terribly boring. Affairs take a dramatic turn for the worse when a mysterious invader uses a forgotten and taboo magical means to breach the capital, plunging the nation into chaos and endangering the royal family. With events spiraling out of control, Friedrich is entrusted with a critical mission. Will hot lead, cold steel, and his determination be enough to see him through? The Queen's Guard is what I'm calling a black powder fantasy story: it's set in a loose equivalent of the early 18th century (plus or minus a few pieces I decided I wanted or didn't want). Magic exists, but not in a spell-slinging sort of way: it's Earth-shaking undertakings or minor enchantments forged in by master craftsmen, the grand working of a secretive cabal or a slight nudge to the course of a blow. I, the eternal optimist, have a full trilogy in mind. The first book is The Prince's Arquebusier, hence the cover and the title disagreeing! This is my shot at 2021's NaNoWriMo and RR Writathon! I've hitherto been terrible at writing long-form fiction, so this is an effort to break out of that by having some accountability in being supposed to post chapters regularly. Here's hoping it works! I have an outline, but not too much detail. I'll do my best to avoid continuity errors, doing anything glaringly stupid, or otherwise fluffing my lines, but I can't make any promises on that. Please do let me know any feedback! Always happy to improve. [participant in the Nov 2021 Royal Road Writathon challenge]
