Akia woke up, eyes fluttering open to a bright blinding light.
She blinks repeatedly trying to adjust her eyes. She swallows emptiness harshly and painfully. Her mouth and throat dry, her stomach burning in a scorching hotness.
"W-water.." She rasped.
Her lips chapped and bleeding from dryness. The siren had drank her essence along with the poison.
She heard rumbling and thrumming before someone lifted her head and put a bowl of water to her chapped lips.
She left the water travel down her throat calming the burning sensation in her mouth and throat.
The king looks down at her and she blinks as the image of his face start to adjust in her eyes.
"Are you awake now?" His voice slips through all the humming noses in her ears.
"You tried to kill yourself." The king said, his voice emotionless but his eyes had dark circles around them that showed he had some kind of remorse.
Akia averts her eyes from the man.
"They said that you've been taking it for a while."
"I know I've been cruel to you but it wasn't my intention to begin with. I never chose you Akialine. I didn't select out of a group to rape. You were chosen and because of that I couldn't let you go, even now I'm afraid that letting you slip from me whether to death or elsewhere is not an option for me." The king voice rang through Akia's ears once more.
Akia's eyes water purely out of shame.
"I didn't intend any of this. I didn't enjoy any of it either, the only time I felt alive on top of you was when you opened your legs to me on your own."
"I-I regret it." Akia said voice still fragile with the small strength that she had. She wasn't talking about the time the king and her shared a bed. Rather that she regrets taking the poison.
"I can tell, it seems pretty obvious now after your suicide attempt." The king said bitterly, Akia remains silent unsure of why he kept saying suicide attempt.
"I was cruel towards you and I'm sorry I could've been more sympathetic towards you and your family."
Kings don't apologize, most don't even know what it means to apologize.

Akia wasn't swayed though, instead she struggled to lift herself up until she saw her mother standing in the corner of the room, biting her nails.
"Mother-" Akia started and her mother puts her hand down and straightens her dress. She walks towards Akia and bends over to caress her coarse hair.
"Please leave us be." Lady Kenya pleaded to the king who hesitated.
"I mustn't leave her side." He said and Akia scoffed.
"Just for a second your majesty."
The king obliged.
Lady Kenya grabbed Akia's hand once they're alone with the guards.
"What did they say?" Lady Kenya asked.
"Did they ask who gave it to you?" The older woman asked.
"No, I felt as if I was going to die mother and I don't think the baby's gone, I finished it all too."
Akia said a little loudly, lady Kenya snapped her head to the side of the room to make sure that the guards didn't hear her.
"If you're asked where it came from say Julius gave it to you." Lady Kenya said to her daughter who's eyes were barely open now.
"Julius.., how do you know Julius mother?"
"Say he courted you in secret before you were brought to the palace."
"But he didn't..." Akia said but trailed off when she saw the intensity in her mother's eyes.
"If they find out I gave it to you I'll be beheaded my dear." Lady Kenya said shaking in a silent panic. She knew if she panicked Akia would follow after.
"Just say this for your mother." Lady Kenya said before taking Akia's dainty hands in her own and placing warm kisses on them.
" mother... the baby's still in me.. what must I do?" Akia asked and lady Kenya rubbed her hand gently.
"Mother will bring you another bash in a couple of weeks, wait for me child."
"Please get one that won't hurt as much...It hurts so much." Akia said breathlessly to her mother who had tears streaming down her face.
"I'll get one that won't hurt at all, it'll be quick and painless I promise."
Lady Kenya enter her home, breathing heavily despite riding home on a horse.
"Where is April?" She asked her servant but the servant is unsure.

"She never returned home my lady." The servant says and lady Kenya falls backwards barely catching herself before she propped down on her backside.
The servant holds her up.
"Find her! Bring her home. I'm going down to the library. Do not disturb me under any condition."
The sickly woman starts up the small stairs leading to her gigantic 3 story house. She is greeted by servants but she ignores them. A more serious issue was at hand.
She walks to the library, staggering as she does with air getting caught in her lungs every now and then making it very hard for her to breathe freely.
She opens up a small box in the wall. She pulls the lever open and a black door appears behind it.
Lady Kenya opens the door, she sees a stairway, descending into the darkness. She starts her journey to the bottom. She doesn't miss the sounds of rats chewing on wood in her walls. She jumps up almost tripping over a stair step when a rat runs across her feet.
She's disgusted, but she has no choice but to allow these rats in her home. These rats were a life form for the demon that resides in the den.
Her heart struggles to settle in her chest, she continues this time placing her hands on the dusty railings. Too afraid to fall from a scare.
Soon she reaches the bottom. There in the corner of the room with a small light source coming from a small window in the to the left is a coffin.
Lady Kenya sees a rat at the side of the room biting into an old disregarded shoe. She calms her breathing. She concentrates on the rat, her eyes narrowing and her fingers wrap themselves into a ball and suddenly the rat is still. His eyes were the only part on his body still moving, still allowed to move.
Lady Kenya walks forward to grab the rat that suddenly starts to squeak as she gets closer. The rat is unmoving still as she wraps her hand around his matted grayish fur but the noises it makes make it very obvious that he was well aware of the dangerous of being in the arms of such a woman.
She snatched the rat from the ground, The rat makes sounds of protest but she is pays it no mind.
She pulls out a small dagger from her boot, and then she slices the through the squeaking rat's throat watching as his blood spatters on the ground floor underneath her.
Her hands are covered in blood. She drops the rat and walks towards the coffin.
On the coffin she draws the sign of the moon. The giant ball and the pentagon that sits behind it.
"Awaken.." She chants as she draws some more.
The coffin is opened and inside is a mummified woman. Skin almost all gone leaving behind nothing but the skull underneath.
"You call me," the woman said and lady Kenya nods.
"Yes mother."
"Have you taken care of the child?" The woman asked.
"She survived, somehow she survived." Lady Kenya said, all her anxiety building up all at once.
"I told you, I- told you to have her killed. You hesitated because you wanted this to happen. You wanted her to survive and now you're coming back here, afraid for your life. I told you not to have that last child. I told you that if the first two were lucky enough to not get the stone then the last child would. Yet you refused to listen." The woman rest before speaking again.
"You told me she'll never be married, you told me she'll never have kids of her own and now look, look at the hell you've put me in."
"I'm sorry mother, I'm so sorry." Lady Kenya said.
"Don't be sorry" the woman said her eyes lift to look into lady Kenya's eyes.
"Don't be sorry, Kill Akialine and bring me the stone before the next full moon. Or else the child will inherits it."
"Yes mother." Lady Kenya said and the woman goes back down to rest her head in her coffin.
"Don't do as you're told and your world will crumble. You'll live withered and ill like me for an eternity."
"Thank you for your time mother.." Lady Kenya said and the coffin slams shut.
