In a swift movement I watched as inked skin motioned backwards in a blur to land another hit, the arm flying into the blue eyed girl in the midst. My blood goes cold, head a cyclone of anger. A grunt escapes her ruby lips as she falls to the ground, people stepping back in horror. Gasps and shocked whispers echoed around the room, people horrified that her own boyfriend with his dripping anger had managed to let it slip, burning out of him and scorching the skin of the one girl he was supposed to love and protect.
The results of running inside with Lola and her friend conducted into an outcome I didn't like, Louis had been tangled with another dark haired figure with fierce brown eyes and a large frame. The two were uncoordinated from their intoxicated state but still landed hard cracks on each others bones. Louis' left eye was a bruised, bloodshot contrast to his right and his bottom lip smeared with blood from the seeping cut. Lola had begged and pulled, her blue eyed boyfriend ignoring her plea with only a goal to finish the fight.
But it all ended with an innocent girl laying on the floor, clutching her reddening cheek with trembling hands.
A side to me that showed only in the darkest of times flowed from me, the broken edges letting the anger boil from me as I felt my body heat. I took no more chances, ending this nonsense as I moved in between the two fighters with my frame now towering over Louis'. It took a look of burning hot anger to stop him in his tracks, the fired gaze of my forest green eyes over grew his watering blue eyes, he quickly realised I wouldn't take anything he put on me now. He didn't take another stand to prove himself, stepping back to surrender as I watched him like a lion watching its prey.
Lola was cradled in her friends arms now, tears streaming down her face and red staining her cheek. It would surely bruise a little, but the hit was not as aggressive as many thought – still a frigid burn to her soft skin and the heart that beat for him. His realisation knocks him to the ground, begging her to talk to him as he whispers apologies to his girlfriend. I almost let a smile form as I watch her bitterly glare at him, walking away with him following like a loyal dog. But soon she is gone, everyone goes back to the atmosphere of the party and I am let with the feeling of loneliness, something that made my aura dim, the party growing less interesting as the seconds passed. Lola was gone, my friends were occupied and I was left with the tired ache in my dull bones. I take my tired soul and body out of the grand home, memories of a hurt blue-eyed girl seemed to break my skin open as I walked home.

A huff leaves my lips as I rest my back on my bed, my tabby cat coming up to my in a comforting way. My home was warmer than outside but still goosebumps formed on my skin, the warmth of my animal calmed me in a small way but inside I was a hurricane of emotions. I was so angry that the man who was meant to love and care for Lola let his fire seep on to her skin, she deserved the sun and stars and he could never give that to her. As I climb under the sheets of my bed, letting my cat rest upon my stomach to soothe me into sleep, I find myself thinking of forbidden thoughts. What if was to take Lola in my arms tonight? Kiss her cheek and hold her bones till the sun rose and her weary eyes found peace in sunshine electric dreams, love in her veins and kisses on her skin.

Monday morning was bitter, the weather had taken a turn for the worst and I found myself sprinting to the school gate with the bottom of my jeans damp and my dark hair falling from its up-do. I hold my heavy backpack tightly to my chest and enter the premises with a breath of relief, the last of the students heading off to class. My mind begins to wonder as I steadily walk to my first class, the gardens and lush trees surrounding our school catching my attention in a daydream. The pink and purple flowers bloomed with the rain, soaking up each drop with eagerness to grow. The sky was dull but the mood seemed to lift as I walked into the warm classroom, the goosebumps on my neck fading as I welcomed the heating.
It's only as I sit down at a desk that I notice the stares, all sorts of eyes gazing upon the faded blue mark on my cheek bone. I rest my hand on the bruise, trying to cover it and stop the whispers from floating around the room. I take out my books and wait for our teacher to begin, trying my best to focus on anything but the lingering voices in my mind. My stomach felt wrong as I sighed, letting the deep breath try to calm me as our teacher started the lesson. I focus on Mrs. Roberts calm voice as she starts explaining the book we are reading in class, going into details about a chapter I was well past. But soon an obnoxious presence looms over me, struggling to lean closer to my desk from the right side of me. Blonde hair tickles the air around me and I'm left swallowing his scent, Niall Horan was pushing his luck as he whispered words to me.

"Heard prince charming got into another fight," He lowly states. "And whacked his princess in the midst." He stifles a laugh, causing his friends to join. I attempt to ignore him but he presses on.
"Or maybe he did it on purpose, heard you've been pretty friendly with that Styles guy."
"Shut up." I hiss, causing him to laugh at my discomfort. The teacher glares at Niall from her desk, a warning look to make him surrender and with luck on my side he leans back to his area of the classroom without another word.
The lesson continues with us students simply reading the book we had been given, and I am thankful as I seep into the pages of the romance novel and fall into another world that was better than my own.
Time was such a fluid thing, with each passing hour I found my day shifting into a slow motion course of events, I watched the clock on the wall, my phone, and computer, time getting slower the more my eyes searched. The afternoon soon found its way to my world and I thanked the sun for finally descending away, the more today went on the more trouble seemed to follow me. Whispers and stares haunted me anywhere I walked and it made me want to run and hide away, seeing each person look at my cheek with disgust or fear was making my mind twist out of control.
It wasn't until I got asked into the principles office that I finally cracked.
I entered the heated reception room, stating my name with a smile to the red-haired woman behind the desk and sitting on the uncomfortable waiting chairs. Then I noticed a familiar musky scent enter the same room, looking up to see emerald eyes smiling at me like the stars in the sky on a clear night. I can't help the smile forming on my lips, he was such a pleasant sight to see on this dreary day.
"Hi."
"Hi." We smiled in union. Harry walks to the red-haired woman who flashes him an eager smile. He sits down next to me with a huff, his hair was damp from the weather and his cheeks were rosy with each blast of cold wind kissing the skin, I watch him intently as he scrolled through his phone.
"Mister Styles, Miss Davenport, I'll see you in my office now."
Questions circle my mind as I stand. Our school principal Mrs Green; a greying middle-aged woman with bad coffee breath, eyed me intently as I walked into the small room. Green plants loomed the area, the open window providing a lovely view of the grey sky and the shining sun casting through the clouds. I sit down with curiosity floating around me, holding my bag close to my chest as I gaze upon Harry sitting down next to me. My mind was full of questions, worry burning into each part of my brain and glowing through my red skin.
"It has come to my attention that you, Miss Davenport, that you were perhaps... assaulted by your boyfriend at a party on Saturday night. Mister Styles here was apparently a key witness to this event." Mrs Green watched us with stern eyes and I could feel my mind spiralling into the dull brown colour, anger boiling out with each exhale of heavy breaths.
"That is far from the truth Mrs Green, it was merely an accident we've already discussed with my parents and with all due respect, it's no one's damn business to begin with." My voice shook with each word, my heart beating against my chest. I felt so many emotions in my body, anger and confusion threaten to expose through my flesh.
"Lola I am merely broadcasting a concern for your well-being." Mrs Green speaks softly. "Harry, can you back up Miss Davenports words that it was in fact: an accident?" We both eye Harry who looked as lost as I was, his green eyes wide with concern.
"Y-Yeah it was an accident, but-"
"See!" My shrill voice echoes across the room, cutting Harry off. I stand to my feet in frustration, gathering my belongings. "Now that is all cleared up, I would appreciate if everyone just leaves me the fuck alone."
I can see the colour leave our principles face as the words slip from my mouth, I feel my heart beat with each step I take as I storm out of the office and almost sprint from the school building. The afternoon air brushes against my hot face as I walk outside, the trees sway with the breeze and I find the cold sensation soothing to my aching bones. My head hurt with every word that stuck in the air, repeating in my brain like a scratched CD. I had to get away – I repeated those words to myself as I walked out of the large metal gate and made my journey home two hours early.
