This time, Theo only had one headphone in. He was scrolling through his phone, his thumb mindlessly smoothing across the cracked screen. Faint music played in his ears, but it was at a considerably quieter volume than usual.
Theodore was, although a complex creature, quite simple to read.
When he cared about something, he found himself unable to hide it outwardly. In this case, he couldn't stop his eyes roaming to the boy next to him, who was tapping away at a small Macbook resting on the tray. He was eyeing the screen, as best he could, but he was more interested in the accessory dawning the blond's face.
"You wear glasses?"
Atticus blinked up at the familiar voice. His shimmering blue pupils were much brighter than before, his skin glowing with his pleasant mood. On any other day, Theodore would find that highly annoying.
"Yes, Theo, I do," he smiled, those strawberry lips forming that blessed perfect curve. Theo's ears went a little red, and he subtly removed his eyes from his face.
"It's getting a little annoying," he mumbled under his breath, his signature frown still creasing his eyebrows. "I get it, you're happy you got my name out of me. Now, can you seriously stop saying it in every single sentence?"
Atticus chuckled under his breath, a ghostly sound, his fingers tapping gracefully over the keys of his Mac. They clicked with a satisfying noise each time. "Oh, I'm sorry, Theo. I didn't realise you hated it that much, Theo. I'll be sure to stop. Theo."
Theodore growled under his breath, watching the way his face lit up with sly amusement. "I won't hesitate to pummel your pretty face into the ground."
"Oh, you still think I'm pretty?" Atticus cooed, flashing him a playful wink. "Nice to know nothing has changed."
Theo chose to ignore him, as well as the pounding of his heart in his chest.
