《Indelible Affairs》⚜️Chapter 67⚜️

I loved New York, the noise was a reminder that time stopped for nobody. The sirens, lights, billboards, the busy streets and crowded bars. Just existing there while everything else existed in the biggest city on the planet was enough for me though I did not experience much of it.

But right now, I am head over heals falling for Nashville Tennessee. And experiencing each day with Enos, Robert, Charles and Tulipa is my redefined idea of living. The calm this place provides is a medicine for my broken, spent and mistreated soul.

I'm addicted to the peace and the man by my side and the way I am when I'm here. When I lay on the grass and gaze at the clear blue sky I feel so innocent. Like a church mouse or a finch. When I'm walking along the field with Enos holding my hands or carrying me on his back, that's when I feel relaxed, free and protected. This place and it's people have won my heart.

"You are going to love feeding the fish." Robert chuckled, staring at the sky over his binoculars. We leisured on his small punt boat as Charles rowed it. Enos was sited next to his father, observing the wide fields from a distance and Tulipa was on my lap playing with her orange kite.

Birds were flying above us, wind blowing on my scarf while we listened to the radio playing music. "Be careful honey." Charles warned his daughter when she began to direct the kite higher. She was wiggling her body and moving closer to the rail of the boat. "Don't worry Charlie, I won't let her fall." I smiled at Tulipa and she blew me a kiss.

She is a beautiful little girl, bright brown eyes with golden hair and red flecked cheeks just like her father. "Daddy, when do we get there? The fish are hungry." Tulipa pouted at her father causing Enos to laugh. "Someone's excited." He beamed at her.

"We have alot of food and daddy taught me to share whenever and whatever I want." She pointed at the food basket.

"Good girl." He praised and then looked at me fondly. "Nice scarf." He complimented me and then proceeded to wink at Robert who in return smirked at his son.

I was taken aback by this. "What was that about?" I referenced the exchange but they did not answer, instead they continued to site see. "Charlie, did you see that?" I glanced over my shoulder to face him with an amused look on my face.

Charles chuckled, "Enos was telling us the other day that he desperately wanted to see you wearing the scarf he chose. Some weird fetish he has with watching you dress on the things he gets you."

I gasped with a flustered face. "He said that?" I stared back at my boyfriend, wide gazed.

Enos eyes Charles, "How many times must I repeat myself pal? Don't expose our conversations."

Charlie shrugged dismissively and I begin to worry over their secretive conversations. "Fetish?" I mouthed.

"It was a joke, love." He insisted but Robert was quick to disagree. "No, it wasn't. Elisabeth darling, I'm sorry to say this and also thrilled to inform that my dear beloved son is obsessed with you. And what can we do but accept the facts?"

I and Charles had to laugh, the only difference was that my whole face was blushing. "Dad, why do you enjoy embarrassing me so much? What did I ever do to you? Uh! Tell me please." Enos palmed his face. "You make it sound as though I'm a psychopath."

"There's nothing to be embarrassed about young man. Nobody is blaming you, infact, we are proud. If a man don't appreciate his woman then he ain't a real man. Right son?"

I blew Enos a kiss and he caught it with his teeth. "Right dad." He winked at me.

"I am still here guys." Tulipa announced innocently. We forgot about that.
