--☽--
a beam of sunlight
like a razor sharp blade of diamond
streaked over his hazel eyes,
bringing the gold out of them
as the wheel turned,
the tiles on the ground grew smaller
and the lines running over the conrete shortened.
looking dwn,
he saw a sea of colored splotches of the people down below.
their cart asceding toward the peak
his stomach flipped a he looked,
but for some reason he couldn't tear his eyes away from the ground
he wondered if anyone had ever felt the same way
if they ever just wanted to jump down from the cart
to the ground below,
to feel freedom from he free fall
and a thrill as pain too painful to be flt flashed through him
the death would be short
it was his acrophobia
that had saved him from jumping
his fear was his savior
it was getting hard to breath
his mind began to swim out in hundreds of directions and he tried to grasp his thoughts and bunch them together but they all floated out of his reach like dozens of baoons being scattered into the wind
"are you fraid of heights?"
the girl's voice sounded
twinges of concern threaded with curiosity
he nodded withou looking back
"then why dd you come up?"
his voice didn't shake
the way his hands did
when he answered,
"you'll see,"
the wheel turned slwly
they were at the peak
it was almost as if he was at the top of the universe
and here at the tip of the wheel
the sky looked as big as a ceiling
and as small as something he could reach out and hold
and at the climax all his fears vanished ad his fingers slowly relaxed
"this is what I came for,"

he spoke slowly
trying to match the beat of his words
to the speed of how the Ferris wheel moved
but he was always a little off beat
like uneven scribbles
except he didn't know scribbles could be beautiful
"the view?"
he shrugged,
"yes and a bit more than that..."
he'd come because being on the Ferris wheel made him feel free
he stare out at the city down below
over the horizon
he spotted a strip of blue
the sea
"have you been to the beach before?"
he asked absentmindedly,
out of the blue
"oh yes, of course. have you not?"
"i have... though the places i've been to have a lot of tourist trash,"
"hmm... well the sea is pretty close to my house..."
he turned slightly to look at her
she was chewing on her cheek
weighing her words carefully
for the first time he noticed a few swirls of dark blue in her eyes
"i could show you the place... if you want,"
the corners of his mouth lifted
"seems like a possibility,"
he mused casually
it was his way of saying yes
--☽--
neither had noticed that their cart had finally descended to the bottom
and as they separated at the gate
he looked back once again
at the Ferris wheel, now glowing faintly with neon gold lights
the sunset fading in the background
he realized that he wasn't afraid at all through the bottom half of the journey
he wondered why
the Ferris wheel glowed like a constellation against the darkening sky
and it fascinated him that he was part of it a few minutes before
just another star in one of the carts

Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).

Enigmatic: Sapphire City Supers
**A Wattpad Featured Story** Kenna Jones isn't a Superhero, and she wants to keep it that way. Though her brother, Sebastien, is a star member of the Sapphire City Super team, Kenna keeps her Super abilities to herself and far away from a celebrity lifestyle she finds selfish and disillusioning. For reasons she'd rather forget, she can't stand most Supers, and uses her mildly famous pen name as a kind of secret identity instead. One evening, fiercely independent Kenna meets the new guy, Enigma, in the most annoying circumstances, and finds him slowly chipping away at her prejudices. Then, with Villains on the loose, threatening to foist a great Evil (with a capital E) on Sapphire City and those she holds dear, Kenna has to ask herself one question: is it time for everything to change?

The Swarm
The Swarm – a world spanning empire – feared by everything and everyone. Endless glory and food to all! No sickness, no poverty, no depression and no allies. Truly, the perfection of life! However, nothing lasts forever; not even the Swarm... The cowardly major races teamed up in an unprecedented alliance to fight the Swarm, but even that was not enough. What brought true doom to the Swarm came from the inside: a high-ranking General’s betrayal! An action that was more shocking than all the other races putting their differences aside and joining together. The Swarm’s strength came from their unity and this shook them to the core. The various Kings and Queens led their armies separately as a result, nullifying their greatest advantage – numbers! Only when the war was all but lost, did the Swarm finally reunite again for one last stand. Afterwards, only one Queen survived, and she would do anything to restore the Swarm to its former glory – even asking one of those 'Gods' for help. To reform the Swarm, a new leader must arise. No, not just any leader – the Emperor must return!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Other stories by me: World of Conquest: http://www.royalroadl.com/fiction/1513Slime Hero Saga: http://www.royalroadl.com/fiction/1415Hunter, Adam Hunter. Ruthless Reincarnator
Its a first try at a different approach of the "i've reincarnated in another world" genre. No "i wanna go back home", or "i wanna make friends" stuff. In fact, the most emotional moments will probably happen in the Intermission chapters. On the bright side, i have already completed the main story! And it is a short one, of course. Only 100~~something pages long (i'm writting the intermission chapters for now) and every chapter shall be mostly 1 or 2 pages long only. So everyone should have something to read for the next 2 months or something. Obs: I have also opened a Patrenon. I intend on posting 1 chapter every day and asking for donations in case people want more. Why ? ´cause i like money. Have a good reading everyone.
