"nice kill!"
the sun was beginning to set in the skies of hyogo. the orange color soon painted the once bright azure, the students who have finally finished their club activities are going home one by one. you on the other hand, stayed behind for the sole reason being that your friend yuki had dragged you to watch her brother's volleyball match.
"yuki it's not even an official match, i don't know why you'd drag me here." you complained to your friend as you rested your chin on your palm. you two were sitting on the bleachers where much to your dismay, other girls were sitting at too. apparently your school's volleyball club was so famous that it even had it's on fanclub.
"oh come on [Y/N] relax! it wouldn't hurt to watch would it?" your friend laughs beside you. "rintaro wanted me to go home with him so i had to wait for him. figured i'd drag you along to watch his match with me."
"you're evil."
"but you love me."
you could only roll your eyes and smile right after at your friend's remark. yuki knew you didn't have any interest in sports yet here she was dragging you in her mess. you heaved in a sigh, averting your eyes at the court where your school's team was. opposing to them was another boy's team from a different school.
your ears cringed at the girls beside you who would cheer and scream for the males. they even had fans and bandanas with the member's name on it too. you found it quite tiring just watching the girls cheer their hearts out for the boys who probably didn't even know their names.
"atsumu-san, osamu-san you can do this!"
"suna-senpai goodluck!"
"akagi-senpai! you're so cool!"
you noticed more cheers were directed towards the blonde and grey haired teens, who you just realized were twins.
"who are they?" you pointed at the two similar looking boys.
"i'm surprised you don't know them, they're quite popular." your friend chuckles. "they're the miya twins. they're known as the most powerful twins in high school volleyball, and their looks are a bonus too. many say they look like idols, but my brother just scrunches his nose in disgust every time someone would call them that."

you hum in response, slightly agreeing with the fact that they did indeed look like idols. "i mean, they aren't lying." you found yourself staring at the blonde boy who was now walking at the end of the court to serve.
yuki caught you staring at the blonde twin. "don't be fooled though, i heard he has an attitude."
you rose your brow. "wouldn't want to test that out anytime soon then."
suddenly, the girls who were cheering beside you had stopped. their silence was more eerie than when they were screaming, and you found it really surprising on why they'd pause the same moment the star would serve.
"why'd they stop?" you asked your friend.
"because-"
"my neck, my back, lick my pussy and my crack~
my neck, my back~"
you felt all the people in the gymnasium slowly turning their gaze at you. you blinked, before realizing what was going on. "shit." you cursed, hurrily searching for your phone in your bag.
"oh no." osamu sighed. unfortunately, time ran out and atsumu had to serve. the referee whistled, indicating that the ball was out of bounds.
you finally found your phone, pressing the red button when you saw that it had only been your brother who was calling to you. you sighed, putting your gaze back to the court only to see atsumu glaring at you. his dark chesnut eyes boring into your own, as if he wanted to murder you right there and then. chills ran up your spine, taking a gulp when you saw how annoyed he was.
"you're so dead." your friend face palmed.
"w-what...?" you stutter, unknowing of what was it you did that made the whole gymnasium tense up.
"you, [Y/N] [L/N], had successfully dug up your own grave."
2-1. inarizaki high had lost by a point, and it was atsumu's serve that had made them lose their last set. of course it was no more than just a practice match, but everyone knew how atsumu took every match seriously.

you have been told about what you just did, and boy did you want to transfer to another part of japan and change your name. it isn't too late right? i can book a train, live in the streets, and-
your train of thoughts disappeared when you saw a shadow towering over you. you slowly tilted your head up, hoping it wasn't the boy you dread to see nor talk with, but it looks like lady luck isn't with you on this one. the very same blonde who had given you a murderous glare earlier was standing in front of you, he had the same dark aura surrounding him like he did when he missed that serve.
"oi." he called out. his tone was low, it was almost a growl.
"o-oi to you too! i mean, hi! salutations!" you panicked, looking around you in hopes of spotting yuki but much to your dismay, she was out of sight; leaving you alone outside the gym with atsumu.
"salutations? what're ya, eighty-four?" he scoffed, taking a step closer to you. he was in his maroon jersey, already changed out of his sweaty uniform.
you didn't want this very situation to happen. as soon as your friend told you that making any noise while atsumu was serving would instantly give you a death sentence, you wanted nothing more than to get out of the building. sadly, she had to fetch up her twin brother suna and told you to wait for her outside. hence why you are now standing with atsumu miya, the very same guy you distracted which made him lose a point.
"no, but i'm sure as hell i won't reach that age considering you're probably here to kill me- i mean! uh, no! i'm a second year." you rambled, your fingers unintentionally fiddling with the hem of your skirt. atsumu seemed to notice your nervousness which made him smirk.
"y'know what'cha did there, didn't ya princess?" he didn't stop taking a step closer to you, which only made you step back further and further until your back made contact with the cold hard wall behind you.
"...should i have set my ringtone to a different song?"
"ha?!" his arms slammed the wall that was beside your head, trapping you beneath him. you shrieked, knowing you just made things worse. although you couldn't seem to stop the rapid beating of your heart at the sudden closeness you two were in.
"i promise i already changed it! would bitch i'm a cow by doja cat be suffice?" you closed your eyes, preparing for the profanities he had yet to spare.
"d'ya take me as a joke?!" his face inched towards you, his breath making contact with your face. it surprisingly smelled like mint, and you now wondered whether he popped in a gum before meeting you.
"i-i'm sorry!" you yelped at his tone. "please don't murder me and throw my body at the river, at least let me bid farewell to my cat! she's only a month old and..." you opened your eyes only to see him blankly staring at you, clearly unsatisfied with your answer.
"...what do you want me to do then?" you sighed, knowing you wouldn't get out of this situation anytime soon. his arms loosened, flailing it back to his sides. you finally took a deep breath from the lack of oxygen you didn't know you were holding.
you stared at him, his features softened at your offer. you gulped, hoping he wouldn't say he was going to sell your body to the yakuza, or perhaps leave you in his basement and tie you up for the rats? or maybe-
"be my girlfriend."

The Depths of Magic
Synopsis It's the year 2052 and the release of the new next-generation full-dive VRMMO game called The Depths of Magic is hitting the world by storm. The game's technology will surpass all other games before it and shock the masses. Hector who goes by the name Locke inside the game is an experienced player of the genre. He is looking to continue his goal of enjoying gaming as well as the competition that goes along with competing for the top ranking spots. Novel Summary The Depths of Magic is a LitRPG novel focused on a Fantasy VRMMO setting. This is not a harem novel. In-Game systems The Depths of Magic features state-of-the-art technology never before seen in Hector's world. The key system the novel will bring up often is the Second Brain. The Second Brain system is more like a guidance AI for the players in the game that acts as if you had a second brain assisting your every action. How much guidance this AI will give is based on its experience or mastery skills a player will receive in the game. The guidance is seamless to a point where a player won't even realize they are being assisted, it's will feel like what they are doing is something they could always do. However, once they leave the game it will become quite apparent that they were receiving heavy guidance. The purpose of this system in a writing sense is to explain why a player can realistically become more powerful, more agile, or more skilled than they would otherwise be able to as a human. To give an example if someone could move faster than a bullet, how would a normal human brain be able to perceive and control this movement properly. Or how could a player who has never held a sword before become as experienced as someone who has trained with the sword all their lives? The magic system will be another focus of this novel. I don't want to spoil anything here but it should be an interesting one. The hope is that the system I have made will spark discussion between the readers on what combinations will do what. I already have most of it, but it will be fun to read as the author. Side notes My general focus for this novel is to attempt to make the in-game systems make sense. To give a vague example I have read a lot of novels of this genre and some have the habit of just creating such powerful items that it just breaks the system, and somehow the MC keeps finding challenging situations even with those items. What tends to happen when I read a novel like this I just ignore the stats of the items he is getting because the numbers don't even matter anymore. Release schedule: The chapter release schedule due to real-life complications is to release as I write them. Patreon setup: 1 chapter early release/discord access. Free content up to the current chapter includes an excel sheet that contains Locke's current stats at the end of the chapter. This is extra information for those that are interested.
