《deal [M. ATSUMU]》36 ♪ Mistaken

you sat on a bench just outside the building of your school, your hands resting on your lap as you held onto your phone. you were currently waiting for atsumu since he told you he would take you out somewhere after of school. you didn't know where he was going to take you since he said it was a surprise, so you patiently waited.
seconds turned to minutes, then minutes turned into almost an hour. the sun was starting to set and you could see the students passing by grow less and less. you sighed, opening your phone to check what the time was.
you had been waiting for almost an hour and a half now. there was no message from atsumu either when you looked which made you worry. had something happened to him?
you dialed the boy's number, hearing it ringing on the other end. it took a while but he soon picked up, right away you can tell he was out ot breath.
"hey princess, what's up?"
"are you okay? did something happen?" you asked, your voice filled with worry.
"no, i'm fine. what's wrong?"
you felt relieved that he was fine and unharmed, but your heart clenched when you realized that he forgot you were supposed to be meeting up with him.
"you forgot didn't you..." you mumbled.
"forgot...?" and that's when it hit him. atsumu wanted to slap himself for forgetting about it. "princess i am so sorry–"
"it's fine atsumu." you sighed and stood up from the bench. "i should head home now."
"wait, i can walk you home. practice will end in a bit–"
"atsumu, it's fine. i promise." you let out a small laugh to assure him. "rest well when you get home, okay?"
"i will. i love you."
"i love you too." you ended the call.
you grabbed your bag and started to walk home. it still bothered you a bit, but you didn't want to be a hindrance to his practice on volleyball. lately, the volleyball team has been practicing a lot since nationals are coming soon. you understand why you've been seeing atsumu less and less recently, but you'd be lying if you said you didn't feel sad by it.
you've been used to him being with you all the time but ever since holidays has ended you can only see him during lunch and that's it. you couldn't go home with him since his practice usually ends very late.

you shook your head, letting the thoughts of sadness that was washing over you disappear and thought positively. "i'll just have to support him when the match comes."
"[Y/N] i'm sorryyy!" atsumu, who sat in front of you at the library, whined as he rested his head on the table. "i'll do better next time, i swear!"
"tsumu how many times do i have to tell you, it's fine." you sighed, placing the book you were reading down to face the boy. "and besides, you had practice. you have a big match coming up so i understand."
he pouts, reaching up to your arm and softly poking it with his finger. "i know that but..."
"but?" you stood up to place the book back on the shelves. atsumu followed behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist hugging you from behind once you've stopped.
"but i feel like i've been seein' you less and less lately..." he rested his chin on your shoulders. "and i hate that."
you let out a small laugh after you placed the book back. you turned to face him, cupping his face that was slightly flushed. "don't worry too much, okay?" you stroked his cheek with your thumb.
"yer not angry at me for spending too much time on volley?"
"nope."
"...but what if you think i'm startin' to ignore you? god i'd never do that again. [Y/N] you know i–" you leaned towards him and smacked your lips on his, stopping him from his rambling.
atsumu was caught in surprise at first but slowly melted in with the kiss. he pulled you closer towards him, deepening the kiss even further.
you first pulled away before things can get heated, "quiet down. this is library y'know."
"i like this new way of silencing me princess." he smirks, his eyes still fixated on your lips. "do it more often."
"maybe i will." you pulled away from his grip and slowly walked back towards your table. "in another time." you winked at him who was walking behind you.
"stop teasin' me or you'll regret it." he caughts up to you and whispers in your ear, his hot breath sending shivers down your spine. he was now the one walking in front of you, while you had to stop midway since your face turned red making you flustered.
a couple of weeks have passed since then. atsumu was right, he did see you less and less during those times because of practice. it was tough but he always made sure to call you when he gets home . it was the day before the nationals, the day his team prepared hard for.

"so, do you know who you'll be up against?" you asked. you were in a call with atsumu while you were laying down your bed as you stared up your ceiling.
it was night time, and tomorrow was the big day. atsumu wanted to call you before he went to sleep. him and his teammates got to tokyo that morning where they would be spending the night to prepare for the next day.
"i don't care much about the first match, but the second one sounds interesting." he replied. you could hear the distant arguing in the background, and you figured it was probably osamu and suna.
"why's that?"
"i can get a chance to play with that first year setter i told you 'bout."
you tried to remember what he was talking about, then you realized it was probably the one back in his training camp. "oh, yeah i remember!"
"i forgot to tell you he lives in miyagi too! you might know him."
"i doubt i'd do. what's his name?"
"t– hey 'samu cut it out!"
"ha?! why me?! akagi's the one who hit ya with the pillow!"
"no it wasn't!"
the shouting in the background got louder which made you chuckle. "it sure is lively in there."
"yeah, sorry 'bout that. i gotta go now, you'll come tomorrow right?"
"yup. i'm going with yuki."
"okay, i'll see ya tomorrow princess."
"see you!" he ends the call. you turned your phone off before realizing that he forgot to tell you the name of the boy he was going to mention.
"[Y/N]-chan hurry up we're gonna be late!" yuki pulled you towards the entrance of the gigantic gymnasium. there were a lot of people inside since some matches were already starting. it was after lunch but you arrived early before inarizaki's first match. (i actually dont know what time their first match actually started lmao just go along for now)
"slow down it doesn't even start 'til an hour!" you panted, out of breath from being dragged by your friend ever since you got out of the bus.
"oh yeah, you're right. we can go buy some shirts then!" she starts running again towards a place you had no idea where.
"h-hey wait!" you really didn't have any other choice rather than to get dragged by her again. because of this, you accidentally bumped into someone along the way.
"ah– i'm sorry!" you apologized to the boy. you looked at him and saw that he has orange hair with a black jacket that had the word karasuno on it.
"i-i'm sorry miss!" he apologized and bows slightly.
yuki had already stopped running since you had arrived at the place where she wanted to go. "it's fine!" you told the boy. you were sure you've heard of the name karasuno somewhere but can't exactly remember where.
"ah [Y/N]-chan there it is!" yuki points at a blue shirt that says 'way of the ace' imprinted on it.
"why would you want tha–"
"ehh? you want that shirt too?! same here!" the orange head exclaimed.
"hinata, you know them?" a boy with dark green hair asked him. he had the same jacket on too, so you figured they were on the same team.
"nope. but they also want the shirt i want!"
"actually i–"
"you've got great taste!" yuki smiled at the boy which cuts you off. "mister, i'll buy two of that shirt over there!" she points at the blue shirt.
the man hands the shirt over to yuki. she passes one to you too, saying, "here ya go!"
"but i didn't–"
"mee too please!" the boy who was behind you said.
you sighed, giving up on declining that you didn't actually want the shirt. "alright now that we've bought it let's go to their match now!" yuki said.
"r-right. it was nice meeting you!" you gave the orange head a small smile before walking away from him.
"they're really cool! i would've never expected girls to actually buy these!" hinata said as he stared at the shirt he just bought.
yamaguchi simply didn't know what to say since he didn't expect it either. "you're too friendly hinata-kun."
"who were you talking to?" a new voice joined in.
"ah, kageyama! check out this new shirt i got!" hinata flailed his new shirt around the boy so he could see.
kageyama couldn't care less though. the dark haired setter was too busy staring at the back of the girl who just walked away, seeming to mistake her for someone else.
