《(TinCan) I Hate U.》friends

He was kicked to the cold water along with the rock.
No matter how hard he struggled, his body kept on sinking down into the deep water. Good thing he could still hold his breath for a least thirty seconds. He focuses on cutting the rope behind him with the knife. The water was so dark he couldn't see a thing but he was able to cut the rope and separate his wrist. Then he swam down to his ankle and cut that rope also. He made his way up and as soon as he reached the top of the water, he ducked down into the water again. Seeing the boat was still there, he noticed those gangs were making sure they are really drowning. That means Can was in the water too!
Tin slowly sneaked his head up to inhale some air and then he jotted back down into the water. Good news was it's too dark for the gangs to spot him but the bad news was it'll be hard to find Can. He dived deeper down as he spread his arms, trying to feel Can.
Can should be able to save himself too, right? Tin questioned himself. Can did said he also had a blade.
Tin swam back up to grabbed some more air and found that the boat was moving away. He took another deep breath and ducked back into the water. He have to hurry. If Can couldn't free himself, then he'll be sinking down deeper into the ocean. He dived faster down and tried to feel Can with every stroke. When there's no sign of Can, panic started to gain on him. What if Can was already long gone? What if Can didn't make it and drown?
What if...

Tin's memory:
Can - Tin!! What is wrong with you? Why all of it sudden, you start acting this way? (Tried to chase Tin)

Tin - leave me alone! (Walked further away)
Can - Tin! I'm your friend. If I did something wrong, you have to tell me. That way I can fix myself!
Tin - such thick face like you will forever be the same!
Can - (grabbed hold onto Tin's wrist and pulled him towards him) thick face? Let me guess, did Larry say something to you?
Tin didn't answer.
Can - don't listen to him, that guy is just looking for trouble.
Tin - (yanked his arm away) and why do I have to listen to you?
Can - because we're friends.
Tin - (bit his lips, then step closer to Can) then tell me what do you know about being friends?
Can wasn't backing down. He locked his gaze up at Tin and Tin could feel this ingenious aura building inside of Can.
Can - friends, they listen to each other. They understand each other. They help each other no matter what the circumstances are. Even if it has to involve with life and death situation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The memories woke Tin up from almost losing his mind. He can't give up. He has to save Can.
He dived deeper and deeper down. If he can't save Can, he might as well die too.
Then suddenly, his hand felt something from his left. He couldn't see it but he aimed towards that direction. He bumped onto... Can.
Tin couldn't hold his breath any longer but he doesn't even care anymore. He found Can and he will save him. He noticed that Can was still fully tied. He quickly dived to Can's ankle and cut the rope. Then he swam up dragging Can with him. He losing conscious and he doesn't know if he's going to make it but he kept swimming...and finally he reached the top. He gasped for air immediately while pulling Can up. Can was unconscious.

Tin - Can! Can!
Tin reached down to untie the rope on Can's wrist. He held Can and support him while swimming. What now? They're in the middle of the ocean. There's no land anywhere. All Tin could do right now is keep swimming throughout the night...
End of flashback
Tin - you lied to me! You didn't have a box cutter! Why did you lend me yours! Do you want a death wish?!
Can soured his face and looked away. Tin pulled Can on the arm and gripped it tight.
Tin - why did you lied to me? Answer me now?! (Jerked Can so hard.)
Can - ooyy... hey! Gentle! I'm still recovering. (Pulled away from Tin's grip) it was time-consuming, I didn't know what to do so...
Tin - you didn't know what to do? (Grabbed onto Can's two arms this time and shook him with force.) you should just save yourself and let me drown, that's what you should do!
Can - (eyes shut in frustration) cuz if I let you drown then we both drown!
Tin - and why is that? (Asked boldly) don't tell me you don't how to swim?
Can avoided eye instantly and slowly...nodded.
Tin gawked as his eyes shake in displease.

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?

Cry of the Mer Extras
A collection of Cry of the Mer shorts and extras. This will mostly be a series of scenes from Luna's point of view. Things from her past and scenes that have already happened, but from the different perspectives. It may also include the same for other characters such as a look into the pasts of Katie and Riley as well. Basically all the world building stuff there isnt time for in the main plot. This is mostly what I'll be writing on my phone on my breaks at work to keep readers having some content as I cannot work on Heart of a Mer while there. Most of you know the situation already, so this is my compromise for less main content. I do take requests if there's something specific you want to see.
