《The Nerd is a Stripper?!》Chapter 12

Jake's POV
I am not an emotional guy. I am also very reserved, I like keeping things to myself. I have always been that way probably always will be. I have only ever needed Zach and Alex.
It wasn't until Ava came into my life did I finally realize, how reserved I have been. Well that is kind of a lie. It wasn't until she showed up did I realize how much of an ass I was to people.
When Ava told me about her past I saw her. Yeah I know cheesey but I didn't see her sarcastic self. I saw Ava Gomez, the real her.
And to think my past was bad. Well it still is, but you get the point. Even after she told me about her past, I still didn't have the guts to tell her about mine.
"How about I tell you after school, at my house." I suggest while taking a strand of hair and puttung it behind her ear. I see her eyes widen in surprise, because she has never been to my house before.
"Deal." Ava agrees while starting to get up. But I hold her down to stay on my lap.
"No don't go, I am nice and comfortable." I say while tightening my grip on her.
"Well I want to eat my food." Ava whines,
"Why am I strangely jealous of food right now?" I ask while letting her go. She stands up and goes to her side of the booth.
"Because food is going to be inside me in about a couple seconds." She says while eye raping the food that is coming in our direction.
"You know, that doesn't have to be the only thing inside you." I say with a suggestive tone. I just get cheese on my forehead.
After the meal, Ava says she forgot her wallet, so I pay and leave to go to school.
We are in the car when...
"Let's play 20 questions." Ava asks she says while looking over at me.
"Shoot." I say while taking a turn.
"Favorite color?" Ava asks while fiddling with her shirt.
"Probably grey, white, and black," I say thoughtfully, "Yours?"
"I think grey and blue. Favorite flower?" She asks.
"You are asking a dude their favorite flower?" I ask while looking at her incredulously.
"Yes, what is wrong with that?" She asks, while folding her arms over her chest.
"Well, I am a dude." I explain while stopping at a newly turned red light.
"Don't tell me you are a sexist kind of guy?" Ava ask while turning her body towards me.
"Well, if you put it like that I would say a Lily." I say with a carless shrug. "You?"
"I guess, I would say a daisy." She answers thoughtfully.

"Really, why?" I ask while moving the car foward.
"2 reasons really, the first would be because before all the bullshit started in my life, my parents and I would go to this field and all that was there were daisies, during the summer the flowers would bloom and there were lady bugs every 5th flower, and we would pick the flowers and put some in a vase, that would have to be my fondest childhood memeroy.
The second would be because they are beautiful, and only two colors. Like it doesn't have these extra pedals, it just has a yellow bud and white pedals, yet they are one of the most prettiest flower, in my opinion.
I think that girls should know this, that it is a lesson that simplicity can be and is beautiful. I feel as if it can represent girls from today's world. All they want is to have the clothes and the make up. It is the simplest out of all of them that makes them real, and simple but who says that's a bad thing?"
"Woah." I say speechless it is things like these that makes me realize how real she is, she isn't some fake girl that isn't loyal to her friends, she isn't worried about what people think about her, and I just love it.
She snaps out of her daze, and looks around with big curious eyes. "Oh, we are at school."
"Th-that was uh w-wow." I stutter.
"Oh, did I go into speech mode? Flora says I do that whenever I am very passionate about something it has its ups and downs." Ava says while grabbing her backpack.
"It is fine, very good." I say while also grabbing my backpack, getting out, and opening her door.
"Thanks." Ava says while getting out. People still stare like they did last time, but I think we plan on ignoring it. We begin to walk into school when we see Shaun and some other chick. Red hair, and looks pretty pissed right about now.
"Ava! Get your ass over here."
Oh thank god, I thought she was an ex

I walk over to Becca. She is with Shaun, and her arms are crossed and her foot is tapping on the floor.
What the hell did I do.
I look over at Jake but he just shrugs. He is such a help, a mentally roll my eyes.
"Did you forget to do something this morning?" She asks, before I answer she answers her self, " I think if goes along the lines of picking you up for school this morning."
My mouth makes an O shape, I look over at Jake and I put my hands up. She turns her attention to Jake, and he tenses.
Good he should, bastard...

"Well, uh What was that? I think Alex just called me, so I am just going to go." Zake says before kissing my cheek, "Bye Ava see you after school."
I glare at his disappearing figure, I brace myself before I turn around to face Becca and Shaun but before I do I am interuppted by Alex.
"Hey Ava have you seen Jake?" Alex says while looking around. I look at Becca to see her eye brow raised as if she is questioning me.
"Yeah didn't you call him?" I ask him and pleading with him to go along with it.
"No I didn't what are you talking about?" Alex asks while looking at me like I am crazy.
"Hey Alex, have you seen Jake?" A new voice says, we all turn our heads to see Zach.
"Oh, hey Shaun, Becca, and Ava." We all return the greeting,
"No, I am looking for him as well, but Ava is saying I called him." Alex says, while pointing at me, Zach looks at me and I start pleading once again. He finally understands, he taps Alex's arm "Hey look it is Jake, let's go." Just like that they are gone.
"Now that they are gone, talk." Becca says, more like commands.
"Well, I was sleeping when Jake comes barging in and wakes my up and ruins my sleep, and he woke me up way too early. So we went to breakfast, and imayhavetoldhimaboutmyparents, then we came here."
"What!?" She uncrosses her arms. I look at her sheepishly.
"Ok for the person who can't speak girl, fill me in." Shaun says while crossing his arms.
"I told Jake what happened to my parents." I explain for the second time.
"What!?"
"I told Ja-" I am interuppted,
"Yeah I know what you said! I am just shocked that you told him, I am shocked that he is hanging out with us!" Becca snaps
"You weren't here!" Shaun makes an O shape. "Ooh girl I need to catch you up!"
Shaun and Becca walk away. I look around tring to gain some sense on what had just happened, until I realized I was all alone.
And then there was one...
Since being ditched I begin to walk to my locker. No sense in waiting here. As I begin to walk, I hear my name being called. I turn to see Zach speed walking over in my direction.
"Hey Ava." Zach greets once he is caught up with me.
"Hi Zach, how are you on this fine good day?" I ask and do a fake British accent.
"Jolly good! And you my lady?" He asks with one as well, but just terribly.
"Jolly good as well! Shall we walk to my locker good sir?" I ask while moving my elbow out to him so we can link arms.
"Why not?" He questions and links his arm in mine and we walk to my locker.
We arrive at my locker, but of course we noticed the curious glances coming our way. But we are in too good of a mood to care.
"By the way your British accent is terrible." I inform Zach on his "accent".
"What!? No it isn't. It is amazing." Zach says while looking mock offended.
"Says who?" I ask while grabbing my notebooks.
"Says me." Zach says while pointing at himself. "No one elses opinion matters but mine when it comes to me."
"Very true," I say while closing my locker. "Ready for English ?"
"No, but I don't think I have much of a choice." Zach says
"Yeah you really don't." I say while grabbing his arm and start dragging him with me.
***
I stare at Ava's and Zach's disappearing figures. They are linked arm and arm and walking inside school. I feel a pang in my chest looking at them together, but just shake it off.
I see someone's hand being waved right in front of my face. I look to my left to see Alex standing there clearly irritated.
"Hello! Anyone in there? I am look for my best friend. Have you seen him?" Alex asks while beginning to walk with me to Ava and Zach.
Does he know? I mentally shrug my shoulders Oh well
"What mother?" I ask while finally paying attention to him.
"Well Son. I have been tring to get your attention since..." That is how far I listen until I see Ava and Zach walk up to her locker, and I zone all my focus on them.
They are just together laughing until they begin to walk to English class. I am just to start walking again when I feel an hand stop me from walking any further. I turn once again to see Alex looking irritated once again.
"Why are you following Ava and Zach? You know both of them why not just walk with them?" Alex asks. Truth is I don't even know why I don't.
"I am just making sure Zach doesn't hurt her." I say which was probably the wrong answer.
"Are you fucking serious? Why would Zach ever hurt anyone?" Alex questions, "Unless you... you are... NO WAY!" Alex shouts gaining attention from students near by. I cover his mouth my hand.
"Will you shut up?" I ask while whispering, but quickly take my hand when I know he is about to bite it, he always does. It is kind of disgusting really.
"You like Ava don't you?"

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
