《The Football Player's Roommate》41.

After the four hour wait we quickly made our way out of the hospital. Theo had to get to the field and start preparing for the game. But it being one in the afternoon already meant that he was already late. The game would start at 7pm, but Theo was always at least 6 hours early.
Their coach preferred it this way actually. This way they could warm up, get dressed, do interviews, and overall just be ready for the big game.
Since our apartment was completely out of the way, Theo insisted on taking me with him. I tried to convince him to let me just get an Uber, but he wouldn't budge. He said it was about time I met the guys anyways.
As we pulled into the specified parking for players I saw other tall, muscled guys running into the locker room...if you can even call it that. The place was huge. According to Theo, this is where they housed the locker room, a workout gym, locker room showers and everything else a team may need.
It was so big, and I already began to feel intimidated. I've never met any of these people before and I was becoming more nervous by the second. Now that I think of it, I'd never met any of Theo's friends.
"Hey, Theo?" I asked him as he was shoving stuff into a Nike duffle.
"What's up?" He responded getting ready to open the door.
"Why haven't I ever met any of your friends?" I questioned before I saw him sigh and set his bag down in his lap. "I'm not trying to be all crazy and whiney because I've never met them, but it's just odd. You're an important college football player, so you have to be popular. But I've never seen you hang out with any friends or anything."
"Well I don't really have any close friends. I tried to get rid of any bad influences from my life lately, but I do have a few buddies that are on the team." He admitted.
"I think you should start hanging out with some of them or something. You can't spend all your time with me and then on the football field. That's gotta be unhealthy. Maybe...I don't know I can't remember much from my psychology classes because they put me to sleep." I said while remember me almost falling into a deep slumber during our last class. I need to work on that.
"What are you talking about? I go to class which is plenty of time with people and there's also another lovely lady in my life." He smirked slyly.
"Excuse me. Could you please repeat that last sentence again?" I held my ear out to listen.
"Uh..." He paused as if he was in deep thought. "I go to class-"
"Nope. Just the last part.?"
"Life?"
"You know what I mean, Theo."
"Oh! You mean when I said 'there's also a lovely lady in my life'?" He questioned with a grin plastered to his face.
"Yes! What are you talking about??" I rolled my eyes.
"She's so cute, adorable," I felt my jealousy piling up by the second. "...and fluffy." He said dreamily.
I sighed and narrowed my eyes at him. "You're talking about Gracie, aren't you?"
"I'm talking about Gracie." He chuckled. "Somebody got jealous real quick."
"Of course I did. You could have any girl and you go for me? Of course I'm going to be nervous and scared that you'll find someone better." I said annoyed before I crossed my arms.

I turned my head towards my window so he couldn't see that tears were beginning to form in the corners of my eyes. Why was I even crying?? Gosh. Being in a relationship makes you so emotional...or maybe my period's just almost here.
I don't know. All I knew was I didn't like crying in front of people. It made me feel like a whimp and I didn't want Theo to see me crying over something so small.
"Mya?" He asked and I felt his big hand clasp around my shoulder.
"What?" I tried to sound mad in attempt to cover up my crying voice.
Crying voice. You know the one. Where you feel like there's a huge lump in your throat and you can't talk without whimpering like a dog that just hurt his leg and can't walk on it.
"You know I was just kidding. And I would and could never replace you, sweetheart. You're irreplaceable. No girl has the kind heart you do, your sweet personality, or that beautiful grin." He gingerly stroked my cheek trying to get me to turn and look at him but I shook my head in a way of saying no. "I love you and if I were to ever lose you I don't know what I'd do or what would happen to me. You've become a part of me. A part of me that helps me wake up every morning, puts a smile on my face, and keeps me sane. I love you with all my heart, Amaya. Why would I replace someone so perfect?" I could practically hear the smile on his face.
And a sight like that was something I didn't want to miss, so I turned to face him and sure enough there was a glorious grin gracing his beautifully sculpted face.
His lips upturned even more and some of his pearly whites even showed. I watched as his thumbs reached up to brush the sad tears from my eyes and lean to place a kiss on my forehead.
"You know I love you, princess." He said before leaning his lips near mine. Just as our mouths were about to touch I heard loud whistles coming from outside of the car.
Theo cursed under his breath before rolling his eyes resulting in little laughs to escape my lips.
"Guess it's time for you to meet the guys!" He said as he climbed out of the car and I followed.
My palms immediately started to sweat and I tried fixing my hair the best I could. I didn't even attempt taming it on the way to the hospital. It was still its crazy bed-headedness and sticking up in all different directions. And I didn't even bring a hair tie to pull it away from my face.
At least I had somewhat appropriate attire for the occasion of a football game. Some light skinny jeans, my favorite college tee, and a random pair of Converse. Theo was in such a hurry to get me to the hospital that he picked and shoved a random pair of shoes onto my feet.
I guess this outfit would work for a football game though.
I walked around the car so I was now standing by Theo and I felt his arm wrap around my waist.
"Guys, this is Amaya, my girlfriend. Amaya, these are the guys." He introduced me to them.
There was six guys lined up with their rather large arm muscles on full display. They all towered over me like skyscrapers making me feel like a tiny mouse who was about to get squashed on the pavement.

"The ones I can half stand anyways." He whispered in my ear making me cover my mouth to stop from laughing.
"What? Is he telling you that amazing joke I told him last week at practice?" One blue-eyed guy asked with a smirk.
"It wasn't even funny, Danny. You literally just joked about an angry potato." Theo shrugged.
I looked from the guy who was apparently "Danny" to Theo with a quirked eyebrow.
"Amaya is all confused. Now I have to tell her!!" He sighed like it was a big responsibility that he had taken onto his shoulders for the time being.
"No no!! That's really-" Theo attempted to stop him.
"How do you describe an angry potato?" Danny asked me.
"Um...I don't know.?" I asked.
"Boiling mad!!" He slapped his knee as he cracked up with laughter at his own joke.
Just his reaction also sent me laughing so hard my stomach began to hurt.
"Alright. Now that you know Danny," Theo said as he gave an annoyed look at the guy who was now laying on the ground trying to recover from his laughing fit. "We can move on to the rest of the guys."
"This is Marcus Rodriguez. The guy who is the least crazy out of the bunch." Theo introduced the next guy in the line.
They randomly formed all on their own...weird but at least they were a group that was at least sort of organized. He stepped forward and shook my hand with a smile.
"I try to keep Theo in line, and honestly he's been doing too well. Won't even go to parties with me anymore." He gave a sad face as if this hurt him more than words can express.
"Yeah right, Marky boy. I keep myself in line." Theo admitted proudly.
"Don't believe a word he says." Mark whispered before giving me a wink resulting in a quick chuckle from me and he stepped back in line.
Danny had finally climbed back off of the ground and was now brushing off his khakis. Just from the way he dressed you could totally tell he was a complete frat boy.
"Next up is the party animal who will forever be legendary, but can never beat my record at shotgunning beers or my record time in a keg stand, Joey Silva." Theo smirked as he reminded the guy of his misfortunes.
"Yeah yeah. I can't beat you, but I'm positive I can do more shots than you any day, Thompson." The light-haired guy said to Theo before stepping forward and extending a hand for me to shake.
"It's okay, Joey. Since I don't party as much anymore maybe you'll finally be able to catch up to all my past achievements." Theo chuckled resulting in Joey dropping my hand and glaring at Theo before getting back in line.
"Nice to meet you though, Amaya." He smiled to me before giving Theo another not-so-serious glare.
"You too, Joey." I laughed.
"Next is the school's very own bad boy, Blake Carter."
"Hey, Amaya...sorry I don't really live up to my stereotype," He referred down to his outfit of athletic shorts and a t-shirt. "I'm trying to lay off the cigarettes, leather jackets, and motorcycle riding."
I laughed at his joke and wondered how he could ever be the "bad boy" of the group. He just seemed like such an innocent and sweet guy.
"How are you the "bad boy" of the group? You look too sweet and innocent." I spoke my thoughts and it resulted in everyone cracking up.
"Yeah right. Blake...innocent??" I heard Mark.
"That's the funniest thing I've heard since my potato joke. Good one, Amaya!" Danny started another round of belly-clutching laughter.
"Oh, yeah? Then what's he done that is sooo bad?" I asked as I crossed my arms and leaned against Theo's car.
"Um let's see he's been arrested for vandalism."
"Remember he randomly threw a party in that one guy's house, who he didn't even know?"
"Or the time he caught fire to the science lab?"
"How about when he stole all of that old guy's Christmas lights?!"
"Hey! That guy was a jerk!! And I returned all the lights that night." Blake tried to defend himself.
"Okay. I get it. He's not all that innocent." I chuckled.
"Glad to meet you though, Amaya. About time our little Theo met a girl." He smiled.
"Good to meet you too." I replied and waited for Theo to introduce the next guy.
"And lastly is Joshua Woods. All time sports guy if you ever need him. He's won too many awards and trophies to count and knows so much about sports, popular teams, and their records that it's actually scary. He's our very own nerd of the group." Theo laughed and Joshua rolled his eyes.
Figured I may have fun with this, and learn some interesting facts along the way.
"Who won the World Series in 1983?" I tested his knowledge.
"Baltimore Orioles."
I didn't know that. I honestly have never been a big MLB fan, so my question was completely random.
"1998 Super Bowl?" I raised an eyebrow.
"The Denver Broncos." He answered without hesitation.
"2003 NBA Finals?" Was my next question.
"San Antonio Spurs."
"Okay. I'm done. You're way too good at this." I chuckled resulting in his dark brown eyes to sparkle with achievement.
He could've got them all wrong, but with that guy's amount of confidence I highly doubted it.
"You can just call me Josh." He sent me a smile.
"Will do." I nodded.
"Well that's everyone. We still have a little bit of time before the game. How about I show you the stadium and everything?" Theo offered as he wrapped an arm around my waist.
"Sure! I'd love to." I smiled immediately thinking of my dad. He'd be over the moon with this opportunity.
"Well we better get going if you want the grand tour." Danny said as he swiped me away from Theo and rushed me towards the gigantic athletic building.
"Hey!!" I heard Theo shout from behind but I just laughed along with Danny as we rushed to get to the stadium before him.
***
"And this is the locker room!!" Danny said pointing to a pair of doors.
"Thanks for the wonderful tour, Danny. I better let you get ready for the game. The time's getting pretty tight here." I said as I checked the time on my phone.
All the other guys had already made their way to the locker room to prepare for the game, but Danny refused until he had given me the ultimate tour of the college's football facilities.
"You sure you don't wanna see in the locker room?" He questioned in a hopeful voice.
He's been acting like a guide around the White House during the whole tour. It was kind of funny, but at the same time kind of cute.
"She's definitely sure!" Theo shouted as he pushed Danny through the door.
"See ya, Amaya. Good luck with your grouchy boyfriend!" Danny shouted through the now shouting door.
"He's such an idiot." Theo said annoyedly toward the locker room.
"No. I think he's funny." I laughed.
"Whatever you say, princess." Theo sighed with a simple shrug.
"I like them." I admitted.
"Who?" Theo wondered as if we hadn't just met five of his friends.
"You know who. Your friends. Why don't you hang out with them more often?"
"I don't know. I try to stay focused on the only two things that matter to me." He crossed his large muscled arms before leaning against the wall.
"Oh and what's that?" I questioned as I stepped in front of him.
He smirked down at me and leaned down so our foreheads were touching. "You."
I grinned giddily before I became confused. If you hadn't noticed I do that a lot.
"Wait, you said two though.."
"Well I was going to say football, but I realized you mean more to me than a game where a bunch of sweaty men tackle each other does." He chuckled.
"We both know you love football-"
"But I love you more, which means I must love you a whole of a hell lot." He grinned showing his perfect smile.
I moved closer to his lips before they were connected once again. It felt like it'd been so long since we kissed, but I knew it had only been a day or so. But the passion-filled lip-lock felt brand new every single
time it happened.
When we pulled apart Theo was beaming. So cute. Theo's smile could make anyone's day.
We stared into each other's eyes as we both were grinning like the dwarf, Happy in Snow White.
"Come on. I have something to show you." He grinned and grabbed my hand pulling me along behind him.
"Where are we going?" I laughed as he excitedly pulled me along to an unknown destination.
"You'll see." He promised.
We climbed a flight of stairs and made it to an elevator.
"Okay. I want it to be a surprise so shut your eyes and keep them shut." He sternly told me.
"That's no fun." I fake pouted.
"Fine. I'll make it fun." He smirked before slipping out of his t-shirt.
I raised an eyebrow as my eyes glazed over his ripped body. Good God.
Theo snapped his fingers in front of my face. "Mya, you with me?"
"Hardly. Your gorgeous bod got me all distracted." I admitted.
All he did was let out a chuckle before telling me to turn around. I felt his t-shirt cover my eyes, making a makeshift blindfold.
(Author's Note: Place 50 Shades of Grey jokes here)
"There. Now we're off!" He interlaced his fingers with mine and he led me on to the elevator.
I listened as he clicked a button and it moved to a higher floor. We stepped off and walked for what seemed like forever. The suspense was killing me which was what was probably making time slow down.
I felt Theo let go of my hand and I went to undo the knot on the back of my head, but Theo caught me.
"No! Don't take it off. I was just getting in my wallet to get my key card." He told me.
"Ugh. Fine. Hurry up. I'm dying of suspense here!" I over exaggerated.
"No you're not. What ever happened to my patient girlfriend?" He chuckled making me roll my eyes.
Too bad he couldn't see it.
He must've found his card because the next few sounds went a little like this: swipe, ping, click.
We gained access of what I was hoping was a bathroom because I suddenly really had to use the restroom.
Theo walked me a few steps and shut the door behind us.
"Okay. You can take the blindfold off now."
"Oh, I can can I?" I asked sarcastically as I crossed my arms.
"Stop being such a smart ass and do it."
The suspense really was getting to me, so I did what he said and my mouth dropped in awe.
It was a large room with a large flat screen tv on the far wall. There were two rows of movie theater seats in front of a huge window that was overlooking the football field. The whole place was carpeted in a fancy pattern and it even had it's own kitchen, lounge area and bathroom. If I wasn't mistaken this was one of the football stadium's suites.
My dad and I had always joked about getting one, but the fact that one cost a gazillion dollars made us rethink things pretty fast.
"This is my suite...well technically it's my grandpa's but he never used it. He only pays for it because my grandma forces him to. She thinks this is "a way to support her grandson's football team," but it really doesn't benefit me at all. But my grandfather never uses the suite and let me have the key. No one will bother you in here. You can even ask for catering if you want to."
"I am fully capable of feeding myself. Thanks though." I said.
"Alrighty then," He chuckled. "Also you can switch on the tv if you want. It covers the game, but if you get bored and want to watch something other than guys wrestling each other for a ball then you know what to do." He finished talking and smiled to me.
I took a few steps closer so I was right in front of him. I looped my arms around his waist and stared up into his eyes. "Why would I miss out on my favorite team's game who so luckily has my amazing boyfriend on it?"
He sent a smile down to me before giving me a quick kiss on the lips. "Wow. I love you."
"It's hard not to." I smirked.
The moment was totally ruined when Theo's phone started ringing. He pulled it out of his pocket before putting it on speaker to answer it.
"What's up, Danny?" Theo questioned.
"Dude, you gotta get your ass down here and get ready. Coach will be here soon and he's already in a pissy mood. Hurry up!" Danny hung up without saying another word.
"Well, I guess I better get going, princess." Theo sighed.
"I guess so. I'll be watching you the whole time." I wrapped my arms around his neck.
Theo smirked before placing both his hands on my hips. "Then I'll definitely have to play better now, won't I?"
"I guess so." I sighed with a shrug. I love being extra.
"Then I will. You just watch." He kissed my cheek before walking to the door. "I gotta get out of here before I change my mind. You make me want to just skip the game and sit up here with you and criticize the other players."
"Good luck, baby! I'll see you after the game." I winked to him as he opened the door.
"Love you, Mya." He said with a small grin on his face as he reluctantly forced himself out the door.
