Amaya's POV
I wake up to the smell of something delicious. A sweet scent wafted around my nose luring me out of my bed which Theo must've left sometime this morning. I follow the delectable aroma which leads straight to the kitchen where I find my boyfriend standing over a sizzling hot pan.
I soon realize he's only in his boxers and my face instantly blushes thinking back to what we almost did last night. We almost had sex. Sex!
I know I probably sound immature. Like oh grow up, Amaya! But I've never done that before. Yes...that.
Okay. Good God. Yes, I have never had sex. I'm a virgin. You would be embarrassed too.
Especially if you had a sex god for a boyfriend.
And seeing his body barely in any clothes only brought back the memories of last night. We were so close to actually doing that.
And he was drunk. What if he didn't even remember what happened the next day? What if he doesn't even remember anything that happened yesterday?
Alcohol does that sometimes. It makes you forget. And if he forgot everything I swear I might die of embarrassment just trying to explain everything to him.
Why did I constantly have to be so stupid?
Having my mind all jumbled in all of these thoughts I wasn't paying attention to where I was actually going and bumped into the lamp beside me knocking it to the ground. My hands went up to my mouth as a gasp instantly left my lips as I looked at the lamp on the ground that was now shattered into a bunch of little pieces.
Shit. Can anything go right?
Theo instantly whipped around and his gorgeous face held confusion until his eyes connected with the broken lamp and me. His shocked face morphed into a smirk as a chuckle fell off his lips.
He set his spatula beside him on the counter and walks over to me after grabbing a broom and dust pan.
"A bit accident prone this morning, are we?" He asked as he began to pick up the ceramic.
When wasn't I?
"Uh-huh." I said as I tried my hardest to keep my eyes off his chiseled chest.
Damn. His perfect body has me saying weird stuff like "chiseled" now.
I kept my eyes on all the broken pieces of lamp on the ground while he kept trying to strike up a conversation with me. My only responses were yes, mhmm, and sure.
And he was starting to notice.
"Okay, Amaya." He set the dustpan down and the broom aside. "What's up with you?"
"Ugh." I groaned and rolled my eyes.
"Ugh doesn't really answer my question, Mya. What's the matter?" He asked before trying to tilt my chin up to look at him.
He achieved what he was trying to do and I was now looking up into his eyes. I small smile started to grace his lips and mine as well.
"You okay?" He asked as he tilted his head slightly to the side.
"Yeah..." I trailed off.
"Then what's going on?" He questioned.
Oh god. I did not want to talk about this.
"Hmm?" He asked as he moved us onto the couch whole ignoring the remaining pile of lamp that was left.
He nudged my shoulder trying to urge me more.
"Okay okay!!" I yelled as I got up from the couch. I averted my eyes from my only-boxer-wearing boyfriend. "Just give me a minute."
Theo chuckled. "I'll be here!"

I bolted to Theo's room and flung open his drawers until I hastily found a pair of athletic shorts & a long sleeved shirt.
"Here!" I said as chucked the clothes at his face. "Put them on!"
"Oooookay." He said jokingly as I kept my eyes off him until he was fully clothed.
"Alright I'm dressed." He told me and I turned around to see him lounging out waiting for me to sit down beside him.
I looked him over and his perfect muscles were all puffed out and...okay hormones please shut up!
I sat beside him and his arm went around my waist to pull me closer.
"You know you can tell me anything, princess." He told me before placing a kiss on the top of my head.
I sighed and leaned into him. Theo was always there for me, and I loved that about him. It also made it extremely easy to talk to him.
"I'm sorry, Theo. I know I can talk to you. It's just I'm a little embarrassed..." I stopped talking because I didn't want to have to say it if I didn't want to.
"Embarrassed? Of what?" He wondered aloud.
"Um...well. You know." I turned to look at him but as I already started to feel my face engulfing in flames I concentrated my eyes elsewhere.
"Amaya. Embarrassed of what, babe?" He asked as he scooted me even closer.
Amazeballs. He was only makes this more difficult to say.
"I just um...you know." I said as I began to twiddle with my thumbs like a nervous child. "What we almost did last night."
There was a silence from beside me for about a minute before I felt Theo's hands take mine into his own. I turned towards him and sheepishly looked down into my lap again.
"Mya, you don't ever have to be embarrassed around me. You should know that already."
I kept my vision on my thighs & started picked at a loose piece of string hanging off my pants. "I know...it's just...I've never done that before and so all of this is really new to me."
"Wait...you're a virgin?" He questioned like it was the craziest thing he's ever heard.
My face was surely beet red by now. It had to be.
"Yes. Can we not go into this right now?" I mumbled and began to get off the couch. I just wanted to go to my room and hide away for six years...maybe more.
I started to walk away but he caught me by the wrist and gently pulled me back onto the couch with him.
"Theo. You can't always do that. I need time to be alone sometimes you know?" I rolled my eyes.
"Amaya. Just listen to me please?" He pleaded.
"Fine." I mumbled before crossing my arms and collapsing my body into the cushions.
"I didn't to make you upset by asking, Mya. I was just genuinely surprised. Guys were crazy not to go for you because you're perfect to me, princess. I'd be honored to be your first, and it doesn't have to be anytime soon. Just whenever you're ready I'll be here."
I looked over to him and couldn't help the smile that took over my face.
"Thank you, Theo. It means a lot to me." I shift closer to him.
"I love you, princess." He said as he leaned down and placed a kiss on my cheek.
"I love you too." We sat there for about two minutes in peace when all of a sudden a loud beeping started sounding off in the kitchen.

"Theo...please tell me you shut off the stove before we started talking." I closed my eyes to try and keep my calm.
A nervous chuckle was all I heard him reply with. I let out an audible huff and pushed myself off the couch and went as quickly as I could to the kitchen.
There sat a covered pan - probably the reason we didn't smell anything for a while - on the stove turned up to the highest setting. Puffs of smoke seeped our of the crevices of the lid and up to the smoke detector leaving an awful burnt smell behind. I grabbed an oven mitt and took the lid off only to be welcomed with more smoke and eventually fire.
"Ahh!! Theo I swear I'm gonna kill you!" I screeched like a dying cat.
Suddenly the flames died down as white fluff poured down over it. When the flames finally stopped and nothing but the smoke was left, I leaned out and turned the stove off. I'll be honest, I was pretty upset right now. Theo left the frickin stove on??
Typical.
It was just our luck to have bad luck.
I keep my calm and slowly turn to a nervous-smiled Theo.
"Breakfast out, I guess?" He questioned cutely with the fire extinguisher still in hand.

(A/N: Ah pig 'n a poke! Shoutout to all my Supernatural fans out there!!! This goes along with this because they're in a diner...okay not a strong correlation, but I love that episode.)

"Um...I'll have the veggie omelette with a side of hash browns please." I smiled to the waiter as I handed him my menu.
He grinned back at me as he quickly finished writing down my order.
"I'll go put your guys' orders in and be back to check on you two." He grinned at me but turned away without even looking to Theo.
"Why did we have to get him as a waiter?" Theo asked in an annoyed tone while rolling his eyes.
"What do you mean? I think he's nice." I chuckled sarcastically as I took a sip of my orange juice.
"Yeah nice to you." He muttered before picking up his water and taking a quick swig.
I only laughed at how annoyed he seemed. "Aw, is somebody jealous?"
"Of course I am. This guy is literally flirting with my girlfriend right in front of me." He said searching the diner for our waiter with an irritated look on his face.
I chuckled and reached across the table to hold Theo's hand. His search for the guy ended as his face turned back to me.
I watched as his eyes traveled for our hands to my face. "You know that I would never cheat on you, Theo. So just ignore this guy. He doesn't have me. You do." I smiled to him.
"Yeah. I do." He squeezed my hand back in reassurance just as the waiter came back with our food.
"Here's your food." He practically threw Theo's food in front of him and I watched as Theo took calm breaths trying not to lose his cool.
"And here's yours," He beamed as he gently placed my food in front of me. "Be careful it's a little hot. Enjoy your food."
I watched as he smiled at me before winking to me and was about to walk away before he set a napkin beside me.
Theo looked absolutely livid as I picked up the napkin before I flipped it over and scrawled on it was some sloppy handwriting.
"Hey, gorgeous.
You should hit me up some time.
Darren."
I read on to see that his phone number was hastily scratched below his message.
"What's it say?" Theo asked in an irritated tone.
I handed it over to him and watched as he crumbled it in his hand.
"I'll hit him. He'll have to get the "up" from someone else." Theo practically growled.
"Theo." I chuckled. "Stop it. You know I want nothing to do with him." I grabbed the napkin and ripped it up.
"It's not you I'm worried about. I'm worried he's gonna try something. He seems like a complete slime ball."
"Well as long as I have you, I think I'll be alright." I told him truthfully, happy to have him as my protector.
We started to dig in and Theo practically inhaled his food in two seconds. I watched him with a raised eyebrow in amusement.
"What? I was hungry." He said with his mouthful.
I just laughed at his actions and ate my food. When we were all done we got up to go pay our tab and left with one last look of Darren seeing his ripped up napkin.
To make matters worse Theo saw him looking at us and decided to take initiative and prove that I most certainly was taken. His lips crashed with mine and his hand caressed my jaw.
I was taken aback at first, but I soon melted into the kiss. It was a major form of PDA, but at the moment I had no cares in the world.
When we pulled away from each other we were grinning ear to ear at each other. We slowly turned to see Darren's mouth hanging wide open and his eyes the size of a U.F.O.
Theo's smirk became evident and I couldn't help but let a laugh spring from my mouth. It was just too humorous of a moment to not laugh.
I grabbed Theo's hand and pulled him out the door and into the morning cold.
I had slipped my jacket over my shoulders as we walked out of the diner. Each day is starting to bring more cold with it and my southern-weather-adjusted self wasn't used to it. I crossed my arms to keep the freezing wind off me, but it didn't seem to work.
"You cold?" Theo asked starting to look concerned.
"No. I'm fine." I said while shivering.
"Yeah right." Theo chuckled before rolling his eyes.
He made us stop walking before he slipped his jacket off and helped me put it on. He even zipped it up for me.
"I can put a jacket on myself, you know?" I laughed as he finally stopped adjusting the coat and stood beside me again.
"I know, but I love being your helpful and extremely sexy boyfriend." He smirked over to me before taking my hand in his and continuing to walk towards his car.
"Had to add in the sexy part, didn't you?" I chuckled.
"Well is it wrong of me to speak the truth?" He wiggled his eyebrows down at me as we finally arrived at the car again.
Just as we were about to get in the car we saw Mark pull into the parking lot. I'd had my head up in a cloud from embarrassment and Theo's charm that I had completely forgotten about our deal to talk about last night.
Theo's parents. The party. Theo's mother calling.
Everything.
My grin fell and my happy, bright mood dimmed. I didn't want to talk about last night, but knew deep down that if we wanted this relationship to work we would need to talk things out. And last night's events definitely needed talking out.
Theo must've seen my face because he too now looked more solemn. He sent Mark a quick wave as he pulled into the parking lot and his friend waved back. I watched on as he parked and walked over to us.
"Morning, you two love birds." Mark shouted across the lot before he walked into the restaurant.
I over the roof of the car to Theo and sighed. "Let's go home. We have a lot to talk about."
With that I climbed in and patiently waited on him to get in and drive us home.
***
The ride home was full of tension and neither of us spoke a single word throughout it. When Theo finally pulled into his regular parking spot we both silently climbed out of the car and made our way to the elevator in sync.
I think neither of us wanted to speak out of fear we'd say the wrong thing or that we'd only make the situation worse. But as soon as we opened our apartment door, Gracie broke all of that tension.
She was excitedly jumping all over us as if we'd been gone for years. Her mouth was wide open with her cute pink tongue hanging out of it.
"Hey, Gracie!" I said in a cute baby-like voice as I bent down and started to pet her.
I felt Theo bend down beside us and began to show our little dog attention as well. Not that Gracie minded, she loved all forms of attention.
"Wanted to go for a walk?" Theo asked beside me.
"Not right now, Theo. We have things to talk about." I said getting up from the ground.
"We can take Gracie and talk while walking. I think the apartment still needs to air out a little bit. It's better but not quite there." He said still trying to convince me.
"Fine. Just let me go put on some different shoes and my heavier coat." I told him as I slipped out of his jacket and handed it to him.
"Alright. I'll get Gracie ready." He said taking the jacket and slipping it on before I turned around and walked to my room.
I went as quickly as I could. I selected to opt out my jeans for sweatpants and some tennis shoes out of hopes of keeping warmer. I also selected my fuzzy, warm winter coat because it seemed to keep getting chillier.
When I was done I walked back out to the kitchen to find Gracie on a leash and excited for her walk with Theo holding on to her.
"Ready?" He asked.
"As I'll ever be." I said with a sad smile before walking to the door ahead of them.
***
We eventually made our way to the park and found a nice and comfy looking bench to sit on. Gracie laid down on the ground beside us patiently and quietly. She was sucha good dog, but remind me to give her a bath when we get home. Her golden coat was already looking dirty.
We sat there for a good five minutes before either of us even had even spoke a single word.
"I'm sorry, Mya." Theo surprised me.
"For what?" I asked.
"For everything that happened last night. I shouldn't have let my parents get to me." He looked away as if he was angry with himself all over again.
"It's alright, Theo. We all have something that triggers a worse side of us. We can't be perfect all the time." I told him as I turned his face back to look at me.
Theo sat there for a minute like he was thinking through all that I had just said before nodding his head and locking his eyes with mine.
"Yeah, but that's still no excuse for the way I treated you. I hurt your wrist, and treated you terribly at the party." He scrunched his eyebrows together and looked to his lap in guilt.
"I know you did, babe. But it's okay. I understand and I forgive you. The past is the past. All I'm worried about is the future." I told him as I reached out to take his hands in mine.
I know Theo had messed up a lot yesterday, but it was obvious he needed somebody to be there for him right now. It was the least I could do. He had been there for me multiple times before, and what kind of couple would we be if we weren't there for each other through thick and thin?
He sent me a sad smile and squeezed my hands back in a sort of thanks. I watched him as he took in a deep breath and shakily released it.
"Thank you, Mya. You're always there for me and always forgive even though you really shouldn't." He told me.
"It's always better to forgive than to hold a grudge, and I know you have a history with your parents and it hurts you. I know you didn't mean for the bad things to happen yesterday. It's okay, Theo. I'm here for you, just like you're always there for me." I sent him a smile to assure him and he returned one to me.
"I love you." He admitted.
"I love you too." I told him before leaning over and giving his lips a quick kiss.
We sat there in a peaceful silence before Theo began talking again.
"So you met my parents." He began and nervously chuckled. My first meeting with them could not have gone much worse.
"Yeah...that went great." I replied sarcastically.
"I'm so sorry, Amaya. I had no idea they were going to be there, or else I wouldn't have left you up there by yourself. I wish I would've gotten there a little sooner, so you wouldn't have had to go through that. What did they do while I wasn't there?" He questioned seriously.
I wasn't sure if I should tell Theo that his parents literally treated me like I was their little servant, but I felt like telling him would only worsen the situation.
"Nothing." I said simply.
He cocked his head to the side and squinted his eyes at me. "Yeah, right. Don't lie to me, princess."
