"Don't forget our first game is this Friday. Practice over." Coach Kemp says Monday after practice.
"Wait," Zack yells, "everyone line up on the line. Dylan come stand next on me."
"Zack, what are you doing?" I ask.
"Tell me who did it." Zack says.
"No they will hate me more." I say.
"I will protect you." He says.
"But-"
"Dylan."
"Okay fine." I say. "I was Trever, Conner, Taylor, Been, and Sid." I whisper.
"Everyone can go except Trever, Conner, Taylor, Been, and Sid." Zack says. Then everyone leaves except the five boys, Zack, couch Kemp, and myself.
"You five start running." Zach yells.
"Why are you making them run?" coach Kemp asks.
"They are the reason Dylan went missing." Zack replies. Coach Kemp nods.
"How long are you going to run them?" coach now asks.
"Till I say stop." Zack says.
The five boys have made a full lap and as they pass us Zack joins in with them. I go to the girl's locker room to shower. When I get out they are still running. I put my helmet on the ground and set on it. I have yet to get new tires and Zack offered me a ride home. Chance's mom came and got him. I take out my homework and start to do it.
Two hours later I finished homework and they are still running. I get up and go inside the school to find the vending machine. I put a dollar in the machine and an ice cold water comes out. When I come out they are still running.
"Zack!" I yell. Zack runs to me and the other continue to run. "Here." I say and hand him the water.

"thanks." He pants.
"Y'all have been running for over two hours let them go home." I say.
"No, they deserve to run more."
"Come on Zack."
"No, they locked you in a locker. They made you cry."
"Zack, I'm over it."
"How can you just let this go so easily?"
"Because I'm used to it." I say.
"Well you should never be treated like that ever again."
"I think they have learned their lesson." I say looking at them. They are barely running anymore.
"fine." Zack grumbles. "Stop!" Zack yells and they do, but instead of going to the locker room they lay on the ground where they were.
"I'll be back in a few minutes." Zack says and runs to the locker room.
When Zack come out his hair is wet from his shower. He stands next to me and shakes his head, slinging water on me.
"That's cold!" I say.
"I know." He says. We walk to his truck and put our gear in the back seat.
"So are you and Chance dating?" Zack asks me as he drives.
"No, he is more like a brother to me." I say.
"Would you like to go get something to eat?" Zack asks me.
"Sure."
"Alright, where do you want to go?"
"Want to get burgers?"
"I know the best burger joint in town." He says. Then he drives there.
When we walk in we are greeted by an older woman.
"Hello Zack." She says as she shows us to our table.
"Hello Mrs. Betty." Zack says.
"Don't you have a beautiful girl with you?" Mrs. Betty says. I blush.
"She is isn't she?" an older man stands next to Mrs. Betty. "She sure is a keeper."

"We aren't dating." Zack and I say at the same time.
"yet." Mrs. Betty says. "What can I get you two future love birds?" I look down as I bush and when I look up I see that Zack is also blushing.
"I'll take a double cheese burger, with fries, and a chocolate milkshake." Zack says.
"Me too, but I want a vanilla shake instead." I say. Mrs. Betty nods and walks away.
"Why vanilla?" Zack asks.
"Because I like vanilla." I say.
"Vanilla is so boring." He says. I roll my eyes.
When Mrs. Betty brings out our food both Zack and I dig into it. We finish around the same time.
"That was the best burger I have ever had." I say.
"I know right." He says.
"Want to come over and play madden?" I ask as we get closer to my house.
"Sure. But I want to warn you, I am a beast at madden." He says.
"It's on." I say.
"I cannot believe this!" Dean yells. "No one, and I mean no one, has ever beaten Dylan at madden!"
"He only won because he cheated." I say.
"You pushed me first." Zack defends himself.
"whatever." I grumble.
"I should get going." Zack says. "See you tomorrow Dylan."
"bye." I say.
"So," Dean says after Zack walks out, "you have a crush on Zack."
"I do not." I say.
"Do to." Tony says.
"Do not." I say.
"She totally does." Dean says and Tony nods.
"I don't always agree with Tony and Dean but, Dylan, you have a crush on Zack." Gavin says.
"I do not." I say and walk out.
Do I have a crush on Zack? No I defiantly do not.
