《How to Write a Warriors Fan-Fiction | Warrior Cats Guide》Cats Outside the Clans & Creating Your Own Civilization
Advertisement
There is more to the world of Warriors aside from the Clans. There are loners, rogues, kittypets, and separate cat civilizations. I'm going to go over all of those, starting with loners.
Loners
Loners are single feral cats that live by themselves, often living nomadic lifestyles and never sitting still---though there are exceptions, of course. They are typically passive and don't cause trouble with the Clans, though they may accidentally stray over a border. Sometimes, loners may have a mate or a friend with them... though they really aren't loners in that case, but are similar.
When creating your loner character, you must first decide on what lifestyle he/she/they will live. Will they be nomadic or sedentary, like Barley? If they are sedentary, where and how will they live? Will they live in an abandoned Twoleg building, in a den, or in a cave? If they're nomadic, why do they travel? Where are they going? What are their motives?
What are their names? How do they pick their kits' names? Maybe if they were former kittypets, they have kittypet-type names. This really depends on their backstory. If they grew up completely feral, they would probably have nature-related names.
What is their relationship with the Clan(s) like? Are they friends, merely passerbys, or do they even know that they exist?
Rogues
Rogues are non-Clan cats. Unlike loners, they are typically very aggressive and live in groups. They may or may not be nomadic.
You really want to ask yourself the same questions you did for loners. They need a purpose, motive, backstory, personality, relationship with the Clans, and (obviously) a naming system.
If they are in a group (a feral cat colony), they may have a hierarchy or cultural traditions. This kind of begins to mix in with creating your own civilization, so I'll elaborate after I talk about kittypets.
Kittypets
Chonky, lazy, fluffy...the classic kittypet. Though they can be vicious sometimes, according to the canon books. This is just a stereotype, so mix it up!
Kittypets are domestic cats that live with and are cared for by Twolegs. They may be outdoor or indoor. Their lifestyle is often frowned upon by Clan cats as they are often repulsed by live prey, suck at fighting (but not always!), and are viewed as lazy, soft, and stupid.
One fun thing with kittypets is that they know terms that Clan cats don't, such as "kibble" and "kitchen." Keep that in mind! They can also be purebreds.
If your kittypet is outdoor, it may have relationships with neighbouring cats or the Clans. Maybe they're in a gang, dating that nextdoor hotty, or daylight warriors like in SkyClan. The possibilities are endless!
If they're in a gang or group, maybe they cause trouble for the Clans. Perhaps there's *gasp* forbidden romance with a Clan cat! That's a good way to mix in some pedigree breeding into your Clan. That way, you have an excuse for having that blue-eyed bengal hybrid.
Make your kittypet realistic, too. It's not going to just dive right into the life of a warrior! It's used to a guaranteed meal, warmth in leaf-bare, fun toys, and the love of a Twoleg. It's not an easy transition!
Slightly off-topic, one thing to remember is that in real life, . Many felines and despise other kitties, making them . This can play into your story about rogues, loners, and/or kittypets!
Civilizations
World-building time! I loved creating an original civilization outside of the Clans in my book. So, I'm going to show you just how to create your own!
Leadership
Who leads the group? Is it a monarchy, empire, dictatorship, or oligarchy? Are there kings, queens, emperors, or a council in charge? You can also just have an alpha-type thing going, or have it like the Clans.
Now, how does one become leader? Are there heirs that inherit "the throne", a deputy-type position, or a fight to the death?
Are there qualifications to being leader? Do they have to look a certain way? Do they get "powers"?
For example, I'm going to create a place called The Place. So original, right? It's led only by black-furred females in an alpha-omega structure. To become leader, a black-furred she-cat challenges the alpha to a duel. The survivor gets the "throne."
Religion
This is quite possibly my favorite part of world-building. What deities do the cats worship? Is there a god? Or do they worship their ancestors?
What's the afterlife like? Come up with names for the Heaven and Hell of your religion. Or, maybe there isn't an afterlife. Upon death, the cats just rest or are reincarnated.
Is there a sacred, holy place or a place to worship?
In The Place, they worship the Great Panther. She grants the alpha nine wishes in her lifetime, and She requires monthly live sacrifices.
The Cave of the Panther is where the cats worship and pray. Janitors are not allowed.
Upon death, cats are tested, and their soul is studied. Those that pass go to the Prairie, and those that fail go to the Land of Sad Cats or Whatever ™. Sounds home-y, no?
Or they could be, like, atheist.
Roles
What positions make up your civilization? What jobs must be done? Some basic ideas:
• Fighters
• Hunters
• Healers
• Queens
• Servants
• Slaves
• Gatherers
• Apprentices
• Etc.
You can come up with cooler names for those roles, though.
In The Place, here's the roles in no particular order:
• Janitors
• Dudes That Kill Stuff (so formal)
• Slicers (how edgy)
• Border Patrollers
• The Watchers (they're the police)
• Trainee
• Queens
Noice, right?
Traditions
This is sort of where you figure out the culture that makes your civilization special. What traditions make them unique?
• In The Place, every full moon, there's a giant feast where they eat juicy frogs.
• There is a formal "wedding" ceremony when a cat takes a mate.
• Newborn kits are left outside overnight. Since newborns require intensive care, most die. The ones that make it are then deemed strong enough.
• Every morning, the cats line up and take turns spitting on the Janitors.
• You get the point. Think outside of the box and consider the location of your civilization when coming up with this stuff. Also, think about whether your little gang here is "good" or "evil." The Place is the latter, so they have "bad" traditions. I however, recommend a balance. Flaws and benefits, people!
Naming
So. How do the cats get named? Do they:
• Earn it?
• Get the full name at birth?
• Earn part of the name with part given at birth (for example, Foxkit goes on to be Foxguy)?
What kind of name do they get?
• Prefix + suffix (Foxguy)
• One word (Fox)
• Two words that form a sort of sentence (Running Fox)
• Full sentence (Fox That Does Cool Stuff)
• Numbered (57) Cats technically can't count, but THIS IS FANTASY. THEY'RE ANTHROPOMORPHIC.
• Etc.
In The Place, their name consists of their role (Slicer) and one trait (Gray Slicer). Until they earn their name, they are simply numbered. (57 goes on to be Big Janitor)
Laws
Every cool gang needs a code. What laws make sense to your cool gang? What's the punishment for breaking one?
Here are the laws that bind The Place:
• Challengers must be a black-furred female; Punishment: Beheading
• Cats can't take mates from different roles; Punishment: Drowning
• Cats begin training at 2 moons; Punishment: FREESTYLE DEATH
• Cats cannot leave; Punishment: Slit throat
• Infidelity is illegal; Punishment: Watch your mistress/secret boyfriend DIE...then you die.
Fun stuff, right?
I
think that I've covered everything here: leadership, religion, traditions, naming, roles, and laws. If you have any questions, comment!

Apex Immortal: a LitRPG system rampage
"Across the multiverse where the contest for power is the only constant, only a handful have succeeded in reaching the ultimate heights of ascendency and gained the title Apex Immortal. Dominus is one of them, unsurpassed in overwhelming violence, feared across universes. Now, memories locked and stranded far away from everything he’d built, Dominus will face enemies that will challenge even his powers and discover that change is more difficult than destruction." I’ve been writing fiction on and off for the last decade and I’ve always wondered how a peak immortal (or an OP superhero) would single handedly conquer a world that mirrors our own in all of its complexity. As a politics nerd, this is my attempt at answering that question using Machiavelli’s “The Prince” as the primary playbook. The “monsters” are entire political systems with entrenched culture. Expect many versions of real world political systems (and cultures) to be on the hit list. The MC has to successfully institute regime and cultural change without engaging in wholesale genocide and causing the state to fail. Expect things to go wrong pretty quickly as escalating and cascading political and economic effects rapidly go out of control. Methods deployed are not for the faint hearted.

Legacy of Blood
Ao Ruang lives in a village isolated from the outside world. Due to a tragic fate he finds himself far away from his home on the brink of death. Only to be entrusted with the legacy of a near extinct race.A Legacy he must embrace.A Legacy that fills humanity with suspicion and hate.A Legacy written in blood. Hello Author here!I hope you all are enjoying my take on a cultivation story. I wanted to take elements I enjoy from cultivation novels while avoiding some of the tropes and insane power creep. I want to keep things as grounded as possible. The story is a bit quick paced in the start, but you will find that it slows down to a decent pace later on. The romance is going to be a slow burn and I want to keep it a bit of a surprise. While our protagonist Ao Ruang is the main man of the story their were will be times other characters will get some love also.Lastly, there will be occasional goals from latest chapter if those goals are reached I will release a bonus side chapter that focuses on other characters we have met before and I'm considering having polls to decide who the side chapter will be on.Please consider supporting me in anyway you can. For now I'm just looking for people to review, suggest to others, and interact.Respectfully,Joseon Walking

Immutable
The world went to hell in a handbasket. Overnight, something called the Allworld downloaded itself into the universe and everything but the kitchen sink appeared to end the planet. Governments fell and chaos reigned. People were left to fend for themselves. Of course, that's not, like, a bad thing. Pollution is at an all time low which means no more global warming. And all that corrupt bureaucracy is gone now too. Which means all those evil people refusing to do something about our dying planet are gone. Plus, people got superpowers. Which is, you know, pretty sweet. Of course, they can't be normal superpowers, everything but the kitchen sink was thrown in after all. Caleb is immutable, unable to physically change in a world completely changed; Alex was granted a system that talks to her in cat puns, but also gives her power over all cats; Nathan met a god of impulse, who gave him powers because he felt like it; and June is given a power to make things lazy, something opposite to her personality. The four of them meet by chance while hunting monsters. They met by chance but must learn to work together when an empire from space lands on Earth with the intent to subjugate the surviving humans.
