"Do you even know where we're going?" Fiona questioned her friend, who had driven past the same Wendy's four times already.
"Does it look like I know where I'm going?" Brooklynn responded, stomping on the brakes in frustration. Kai and Fiona jolted forward before sitting back in their seats.
"Not really," Fiona muttered, "I knew we should've put a tracker in his ass when we had the chance."
Brook ignored Fiona's comment, and turned her attention back to the road.
"I have no fuçking clue where that dumbass is," Brook grumbled, "Can't wait to beat his ass when I find him."
"You and me both," Fiona replied.
"I don't know if this is the best time to say this, but Connor has a tracker on his phone." Kai interrupted, causing both Brook and Fiona to turn back to him.
"He what?" Brook asked, narrowing her eyes at Kai.
"Yeah...I didn't remember until just now," Kai paused, "Sorry."
Brook and Fiona shared a look and then looked back at Kai.
"You're lucky you have a cute face, otherwise I would've dented it." Fiona said to Kai, who flashed her yet another bright smile.
"Glad you think I'm cute," Kai said.
Before Fiona could respond, Brook interrupted them.
"Look, I get you two are ready to fuçk in this corvette, but let's focus on the main task right now. Now Kai, if you don't mind tracking him that would be superb."
"I'm on it, Alpha."
Brook shot Kai a look, he knew how much it irritated her to be called Alpha. Kai on the other hand, flashed yet another smile.
"You're my Alpha, not Connor."
"Kai..." Brook warned, but she knew that's what most of the pack thought. The pack, though loyal to Connor, feared him.
"Brook, you don't understand how relieved I was, along with basically everyone else when we heard you were Connor's mate," Kai said, "I mean come on, you're like a celebrity in the Wolf world."

"Okay buddy, lets not get too excited," Brook replied to Kai.
"Hold up," Kai said, "It shows Connor in the middle of a forest like two miles from here."
Kai held his phone up for Brook and Fiona to look at. And sure enough, there Connor was. Dead center in a forest.
"What the hell," Brook said. She put the car in drive, and drove in the direction of the forest that Connor was at. "I swear to..."
Don't say it, Brooklynn. Brook recognized the Moon goddess's voice in her head and rolled her eyes.
Oh so now you decide to speak. You're late. Brook said in her head. Well since you're here, do you care to help us out a bit?
Silence filled Brook's head, causing her to roll her eyes yet again.
Just please be smart. The Moon Goddess said.
Brook didn't respond as she pulled up to the edge of a forest. She parked the car and turned it off, before sharing a look with both Fiona and Kai.
"Heads up, he's probably a little crazy," Brook warned.
Everyone stepped out of the car, and just stood there. They stared at the dark forest in front of them, a feeling of uneasiness surrounding them.
"Maybe we could save Connor on another day?" Kai asked, trying to step back into the car.
Fiona grabbed his arm, and pulled him right up next to her.
"You're the one that wanted to come," Fiona said, "Let's get this done."
The three of them began their march into the forest, which seemed to be growing more creepy by the second.
Each of their wolves stayed on high alert, listening to every branch snap and every bird chirp.
The farther they got in, the more uncertain they got.
"Guys," Fiona said, "Something feels really wrong. We shouldn't be here."
Nobody spoke, but they all agreed with Fiona. Something was definitely wrong.
"You guys go," Brook turned to face them, "I can find Connor."

Kai and Fiona shared a look with each other, the both of them wanted to leave. But neither of them wanted to leave Brook.
"Seriously, you guys can go. I promise I'll be fine."
"I'm not leaving my best friend out in the middle of some sketchy ass woods," Fiona said.
They continued to walk with caution, until Brook stopped abruptly.
"I smell him," She spoke, "He's close."
Nobody made a sound as they listened for Connor. But nobody could hear him.
"Connor?" Brook asked, her voice filled with uncertainty. She could finally sense him, but she could also sense something else.
"Guys we aren't alone," Brook whispered. She backed in closer with her friends, for support.
"Brooklynn..."A strained voice spoke.
Brooklynn started at the man in front of her, her mate, who was barely recognizable. She felt scared for him, worried as if maybe he'd been moonwashed for too long. This would make him unpredictable for the rest of his life.
"Connor, baby," Brook spoke, "Are you okay?" She knew it was a stupid question to ask, but she needed to know.
"I need you to leave," Connor said, "You aren't safe around me."
Brook's heart sunk at his words.
But instead of cowering back, and leaving, she cautiously walked to him. She stepped softly and slowly, like she was trying to calm a wild animal.
"Brook, be careful," Fiona said.
Brook knew what she was doing was dangerous, and so she gave Fiona a curt nod.
"I'm going to help you Connor, but first I need you to help me."
She stood only a foot from Connor, but it allowed her to see him clearly in the dark.
He looked horrible, like a deranged animal. He reeked of a nasty odor, which made Brook want to hurl. And his eyes, were wide and feral.
"Stay back!" Connor screamed, taking a few steps away from Brooklynn. "Please, Brook. I can't control myself."
"That's why I need you to come with me, so we can get you back to normal." Brook pleaded, beginning to step close to Connor again.
This time, he didn't move. However, he did remain looking as if he was about to pounce.
"Your pack, they need you home," Brook said, "I need you home."
She reached out to touch his face, and he let her. His skin felt greasy to the touch, but she didn't care. Brook was just relieved to be feeling him again.
"Connor," She said, "No matter what, we're going to help you."
Connor stared at Brook, his eyes watery and lip quivering.
"Brooklynn, I hurt you," He said.
"Yes, Connor. You hurt me a lot, but we can talk about that when we get you fixed." She offered with a smile.
But her smile dropped when multiple different scents filled the air.
Brooklynn, you need to leave. Now! The moon goddess yelled, sending Brook into a panic.
"Guys we need to go now!" Brook shouted, wrapping her hand around Connor's arm and trying to drag him.
But he didn't move.
"Connor, please." Brook begged, sighing in relief when both Kai and Fiona came to help.
Connor struggled like he never had against them, but three strong wolves overpowered one.
However, their hope of escaping fizzled away when three shots rang through the air, and three screams did too.
Brook, Fiona and Kai all dropped Connor and fell to the ground after a bullet tore through each of them. But it wasn't just any bullet, it was wolfsbane.
As the substance spread through their bodies at a painfully agonizing pace, they looked up to see dozens of masked figures.
And before Brook lost consciousness, she managed to get a glimpse at her friends.
The last thought in her head was how she might've just lead three important people to their deaths.
