Tails layed in his cozy bed, wanting to sleep ever so badly, but he couldn't. His brain filled him with questions. He rolled over and over in his bed. A groan escaped his mouth. Along with a sigh.

"That's it. I can't sleep tonight"

Tails stood up from his bed and walked downstairs. He pulled on his trousers, his red jacket with yellow ends, his original shoes and walked out.

"If I can't sleep, then I might as well take a walk instead"

He said as he put his hands in the pockets of his jacket and walked into the forest that was close to his house. Leaf forest.

Tails walked down the small dirt path that led to the forest and started thinking. The forest was dancing in the wind. Joined by a relaxing sound, made by the leaves in the bushes and on the trees. No birds were singing, but grasshoppers made their sound in the silence.

Tails looked up and saw the beautiful night sky. Filled with stars and a shining full moon. The moon had an effect that made it look like the trees were half-frosen, because of the bright blue light that the moon created. He smiled of the sight and continued to walk down the path. He jumped over a lake or two on the way and blew away a green leaf that came in the way. Tails stopped when he came to the end of the forest. It was a hill, filled with new grown grass. A lake were dancing in the end of the hill. If you jumped down, you would land in the lake. A huge waterfall was flowing down from a cave to the left in the mountain in an amazing speed. That was start of the river. The moon made the sight look like there were diamonds in the water. Tails smiled when he saw the waterfall. This place, the end of the forest, has always been Tails' favorite place. He used to go here when he felt down or just wanted to think of something else. He let out a big sigh and walked over to the end of the cliff. But, he stopped half-ways there and stared at the end of the cliff. There sat Sonic.

His head were resting in his left hand and he stared in front of him blankly. Like he was lost in his thoughts. He sighted.

Tails only stood there and looked at his lover. His fur and quills were shining brightly in the moonlight. While the wind blew to let trough the silence. His quills were flowing silently in the air as the wind passed by. Tails couldn't hold his blush anymore. His cheeks turned into a light blush. Tails took a deep breath and walked over to Sonic. His blue friend, hero and crush.

Sonic looked out in the star - filled dark blue sky. Digging in the beautiful sight. Sonic ran out to this location at night, because he couldn't sleep. His mind raced too much. He was thinking way too much.

About someone.

His friend, brother and crush.

It was way too hard to sleep. He ran out to Leaf forest Waterfall, to relax and shuffle his thoughts. This place was always his first choice. Sonic came there to relax, think and cry if needed. Though, he wanted to have someone by his side. Right here, right now. He let out a relaxed sigh and looked up at the stars. Of course, it was a really small chance that he would show up. That was when he heard shy "thuds". His ears perked up, listening to the small steps that reached him. They where getting louder and louder as they approached his location. Sonic then realized. No one else knew about this place in Leaf forest. Beside...

He then looked behind himself to see who it was. His eyes widened in surprise. The one he heard. Was Tails.

Tails sat down beside Sonic and looked at him with loving eyes and a light blush.

He never thought Sonic would be here. Of course, this was one place where only Sonic and himself knew about, so it wouldn't really be a surprise, but here, now, exactly this night and time? Maybe it was only his luck. He sighed and looked at Sonic, who was now looking at him with surprised eyes. Maybe he also was surprised that he showed up at exactly this time. Tails smiled and was the first one to speak.

"H-hi. How are you? I mean, it has to be a reason for you to be here... right?"

Even Tails, himself, was surprised that all he said, almost came out like a stutter. And for the first time. He was nervous to talk, so he didn't plan what to say. Luckly, for him. Sonic didn't realize and only smiled back.

"Well. I couldn't sleep. So I came here to, I don't know, do something else then rolling around in bed wide awake. Then I decided to come here and shuffle my thoughts."

Sonic said in his usual cool tone. Then he tilted his head to the side and looked at Tails.

"Why are here?"

When Tails looked up at Sonic. He found him blushing a little bit on his cheeks. 'Why did he blush? It is cute though' Tails thought.

"W-well... I came here because I couldn't sleep. And to shuffle my thoughts also."

"Wow. Funny we came here at the same time with the same reason."

Sonic giggled at the thought and Tails did the same. When it got quiet. Tails started to speak.

"What did you think so much about, that you couldn't sleep"

He questioned. Curious of what the hedgehog was thinking about. Sonic's eyes widened and he bit his lower lip. 'I can't tell him, can I? What will his reaction be?'

Sonic thought, but decided to tell him after awhile of silence.

"W-well..." He let out a sigh before continuing. 'This is it'

"I-it's you..."

Silence. An awkward silence filled the air. Only the wind and leaves that flew in the air could be heard. Tails only stared at the hedgehog with his mouth half open. Surprised. Sonic looked at Tails.

"W-wha..."

But before Tails could continue. Sonic placed two fingers on his lips. Making him be quiet. Sonic sighed. 'No turning back now'

"Listen Tails. This is the real truth. Honest words, right from my heart to mouth. You are beautiful. From the inside and outside. I love the way you care and all the way to you bulding machines.

Your eyes.

They shine brighter than diamonds. Your fur are more beautiful than the sunset that fills the morning sky and more white than snow on a sunny day.

Your words are just stunning and when you smile.

You will light up anyone's day.

Your laugher makes my heart flutter. Tails, you are everything to me"

Sonic said with full honesty. He lifted his right hand and placed it on Tails's cheek. Tears began to form in the kitsune's ocean blue eyes as he stared in shock at Sonic.

"Tails... Miles Prower... I love you. From the bottom of my heart in my body to the furthest planet in space. That's why I have been so nervous when I was close to you. And I am truly sorry for never saying this to you any sooner."

Sonic's ears fell to his head in shame and shyness as he looked down on his legs. He also blushed, light red on his cheeks. Tails, had no words. Sonic confessed his feelings for him. It looked like this was a bigger challenge to him than any of the fights with Eggman. Those words. All of them. Had a meaning. Every single word, was love. Tears of Joy began to stream from the fox's eyes. He was so happy. His lover, Loved him back.

Tails wiped away most of his tears and moved closer to Sonic.

"Sonic..."

Tails wispered as he leaned closer to his face.

"I love you too."

Tails wispered as his lips locked with the hedgehog's. The blur's eyes widened at the words and the action Tails made. Sonic blushed red on his cheeks and didn't want to lose the opportunity to share his feelings more for his lover, so he returned the kiss. Butterflies made their way to the boyfriend's belly, their heartbeats where beating in a beautiful rhythm while they tasted the love for another. None of them wanted this moment to stop. The moment when they expressed their feelings for each other, love and joy filled the air that surrounds them, but they had to in the need of air. They parted slowly from each others lips and looked deep into the other's eyes. Both of them huffed. Tears formed again in the kitsune's eyes.

"Sonic... I-Is this happening?"

Sonic took Tails' head in his hands. Holding it up close to him.

"Yes Tails. This is happening and will never end."

The blue blur smiled lovingly with his eyes and mouth. And pulled Tails into another passionate kiss. The couple closed their eyes and tasted the love they have finally created.

The warm breeze filled the boyfriends furs. Tails rested his head on Sonic's chest and ran his fingers through his sapphire blue quills. While Sonic leaned against a light brown tree bark of a deciduous tree and stroke the kitsune's beautiful orange - yellow head, all the way down to the three bangs on his forhead. Sonic looked down at his lover and kissed his forhead.

"I love you. Tails"

Tails ears and cheeks turned light pink as he smiled along with a yawn that escaped his mouth.

"I love you too. Sonic"

The kitsune said before falling into a deep slumber. It didn't take Sonic long to copy the action and they both fell into a loving sleep in each others arms.
