《His light in the dark [bxb]》Chapter - 09

Raya felt his neck go numb for a second as Lixian bit down, a whimper leaving his lips when it stung painfully, his skin burning up like it was on fire, so hot. After a few seconds, he could feel the wound slowly cool down again and leave a trail of tingles down his body. Raya hummed in delight, but winched slightly when Lixian finally let go. His demon teeth retracing.
A warm, wet tongue licked his wound clean and caused him to shudder with a small moan, making him flush red in embarrassment. The demon underneath him chuckled when seeing his human so shy and nuzzled his cheek with his nose, inhaling that addictive scent of his.
"I never knew you felt the same way." Raya softly mumbled, enjoying the gentle touches of his demon.
Lixian hummed at that, slowly making a trail of butterfly kissed down his human's throat. "I wasn't sure, but I couldn't hold myself back anymore."
"Was I that obvious?" Raya asked, a little embarrassed.
"No." Lixian smirked, leaning away so he could lock eyes. "But I hoped... And the last couple of days were a turning point for me, I guess."
"Turning point for what?"
Lixian blushed as he wrapped his arms around his mate's waist, pulling him closer. Their noses touching if they decided to move while they ogled each other. "That I wanted to have you for myself." He whispered.
Raya chuckled, his own cheeks and neck turning a shade darker as he flushed red. "Well, you have me." He joked.
A low rumble let the human know Lixian was very happy with that fact, making him softly giggle and hide his face into the creature his shoulder. "That sound it new, is it a demon thing?"
"Kind of, werewolves and lion shifters can make a sound like that too." Lixian explained, his wet tongue slowly lapping the wound again.
Raya hummed and closed his eyes contently, feeling himself slowly doze off. "For how long... did you fancy me?"
The demon frowned, not knowing the meaning of that word yet. "What does that mean?"
Raya breathed a chuckle, lips lazily placing a kiss on the demon's shoulder. "It means liking someone. I asked when you... knew you started liking me that way." The human explained.

"I-I um." The younger stuttered, his overheated cheek cooled down by the shoulder of his mate as he hid his face. "I think about two weeks ago, or something."
"Two weeks...—" Raya breathed, laughing quietly to himself.
Lixian hummed, smirking a little when his human cuddled closer to him, his arms wrapping themselves around his neck to feel his warmth. His wings fluttered at that, slightly closing in on them to protect their bodies even further. Feeling protective of his newfound mate.
"I love your wings." Raya mumbled against his neck, his eyelids slowly losing control of staying open as he felt the effect of the mark take over. "They're so pretty."
"You are pretty."
The human chuckled, closing his eyes when he couldn't keep them open anymore. "I'm... really tired." He yawned.
"It's ok." Lixian whispered, feeling his demon once again coming forward as his mate slowly fell limp against him. "I'll be here."
"I love you... Lixian."
The demon stiffened at that. The words so unknown to him. He tried to calm down his beating heart as he held his human closer, carefully brushing some hair out of his face as he looked down at him. He slowly smiled, the back of his knuckles softly brushing Raya's cheek. "I love you too." He softly whispered.
He didn't know if it was to soon to be saying that, but it felt so right. His demon getting jealous over the mere thought of someone getting close to his human, stealing his attention.
"You're mine." He mumbled possessively, littering Raya's sleeping face with soft kisses.
Lixian carefully picked up his body and carried him to his bed. He carefully placed him down onto the animal rug in that room, crawling in beside him under the blanket as he did. Raya unconsciously shuffled closer to him in his sleep, causing the demon to be flustered for a second before he held the human tighter against himself. Foreign to all these loving touches.
"Sleep well, Raya." He smiled, kissing his mate on the forehead as he made them both comfortable. "I'm not going anywhere." He whispered.

Raya woke up early the next morning, smiling warmly as he was wrapped up in strong arms holding him close. He slowly turned around in Lixian's arms, trying not to wake him up, and buried his face in the naked chest of the demon. The stinging pain from the wound was gone as a warm, tingling feeling was coursing through his body. Making it feel like he was in pure bliss.

He suddenly heard soft whimpers above his head, coming from deep within Lixian's throat, followed by low rumbles. As if he was growling. Raya leaned away so he could look at him better and saw Lixian's eyebrows furrowed into a worrying frown, his eyes moving under his eyelids rapidly as he began to stir slightly in his sleep.
He was having a bad dream.
"Lixian." Raya softly mumbled, though it didn't really work as the demon was still fast asleep. "Hey, love, wake up." He tried again, harder this time as he shook his arm that was around his waist.
The demon woke up with a gasp, almost crushing the human's back as he held him tighter in shock from what he had dreamed of. Raya shushed him, carefully brushing away some hair from his sweaty forehead. "You're ok." He whispered reassuringly, holding his overheated cheek into his palm.
The poor demon let out a heartbreaking whimper, leaning into his human's touch before burying his face in the crook of Raya's neck after pulling him closer. His breathing slowly calming down again after a couple of seconds.
"You're ok." Raya whispered again, combing his fingers through those dark locks to help him calm down faster.
"I can't... I can't lose you too." He breathed, his hands roaming the back of his mate, desperate to feel him. To know he was there.
"I'm not going anywhere." Raya mumbled, worried about what Lixian had dreamed about that made him act this way. All distressed and angsty. "I'm right here."
Lixian leaned back to claim his lips, slightly shocking the older by the sudden movement, but he didn't complain. Answering the creature by completely letting him do as he wished. Feeling like the younger needed to confirm he was really there, safe in his arms.
They held back after a few seconds, pressing their foreheads together as they locked eyes. Raya smiled assuredly, softly pecking those lips again as he couldn't help himself. Lixian sighed, closing his eyes.
"You alright?" Raya carefully asked after a few seconds. "You want to talk about it?"
The demon took a deep breath before muttering an answer. "Just... a bad memory. About that day with my friends, when I escaped but... they did not."
Raya hummed, still holding the demon's face in his hand, brushing his cheek absently with his thumb as he listened. "What were their names? Were you good friends?"
"Demon relationships are a bit complicated as I've told you before, but they were more then just friends to me. Because my parents were murdered, they were kind of like... my family after that." He whispered, burying his head back in the crook of the human's neck. "They were called Arira and Sentero, though they just went by Ari and Sen."
"What do you mean complicated?" Raya asked, not fully remembering what Lixian had said about demon relationships back then.
"Demons don't really do commitment, except for when you find a mate or when you are close with your family." He mumbled, slowly feeling himself being pulled back to sleep at how comforting and safe he felt in his lovers arms. "Friends are a little different. We don't even go to schools like you humans, so it's harder to find close friends. Demons just don't trust each other that well."
Raya realized he didn't know much about the demon population at all, how everything worked and how Lixian grew up. He asked, then, if he would tell him about his youth. Lixian let out a chuckle at that, his warm breath fanning against Raya's skin. "I didn't had the greatest youth, so I don't know if you want to hear that sob story."
"I do." The human pleaded, nuzzling his demon on the naked shoulder. "I want to know everything about you."
"Alright then." Lixian smiled, ruffling Raya's brow locks.

Riftwalker
Legend speaks that a roaring force of insatiable abyss lies beneath the peaceful overworld. Named the Rift after its chasm-like entrances, this unexplored void has consumed the underneath for eons. What had seemed just a myth crawled out of unreality in the form of eldritch creatures. Reborn as something not entirely human, mankind rejected the boy. Thrown into the Rift by people who feared him, he had to live in a world run by monsters as a newborn. Surviving, however, wasn't his only difficulty as he soon had to decide whether he would save the people who banished him or simply idle as the Rift engulfed all life. As of chapter 9, Riftwalker is on a very small hiatus. I'm very busy with work atm :( Here are a couple of things to expect: Lots of action and exploration! Diverse and refreshing creatures; There are good and evil. Satisfying progression and coming of age. The protagonist stands out but isn't overpowered. There are some litRPG elements, but it's not a determinant factor. The fights are decided through one's combat skill and experience and not stat-checking. Oh, and some other info: There is a bit of gore, but nothing disturbing. Occasionally, there will be images of the scenery and landscape. Chapters will be around 1,5k to 2k words long, and the releases will probably be relatively slow, sorry.

Theory of Rifts (LitRPG)
You can join my Discord here. Keynes Kid is gifted with a photographic memory and being several months away from receiving Level 1, and a Talent, he finds himself in the center of attention of people who want to shape his Talent. If they can get him an intelligence related Talent, they will hit a jackpot. The Talent Unlocking ceremony finally comes and Keynes Kid receives… Error… Anomaly (What?) His new talent is… useless. Why then does the World Government want Keynes so badly they will silence anyone who knows about his Talent? At the same time... Somewhere in the Universe, ancient beings stir from their slumber, awoken by the system alert and the wall of glaring red warnings. Their greatest fear just manifested and they are hell-bent on erasing it from existence. -------- It is a slow-development story, so you won't find the MC with super powers at the beginning. -------- It is a coming of age story and focuses on a Talent system (in the beginning) with several additions that bring to the table upgrading of a planet’s tier and such (a bit later). There will be quite an amount of rebuilding society as new, unknown resources enter the economy, and a lot of travelling, delving and naturally, unlocking the secrets of the Universe. As for the setting, the story starts in XXI century, which technology-wise isn't much different from what we have now, but it is enhanced by magic associated with Talents. This allowed the humankind to colonize the solar system, but the technology that allows for interstellar travel doesn't exist (yet). Because it’s my first attempt at LitRPG, please be forgiving but constructive. I hope you will enjoy the story! --- Cover by Daniel Gembus https://www.artstation.com/daniel_gembus instagram.com/danielgembus
