《The Attachment - A Colby Brock Fan Fiction》~*~*~Chapter Eleven~*~*~

The girls got back home safely, while Sam and I stayed up to try and find a priest that could investigate with us. I know I know we promised the girls but we had to get it on camera. Whatever happened down there we had to document it. But the following day we also had to talk over things with the owners to find out what else they knew and of course, discuss things with the wife to see if anyone purchased anything interesting since they bought the hotel.
We had to find some answers before we headed back down there. We found a catholic priest that was willing to meet us at the hotel the following night at about ten PM as long as we got permission from the owners to do an exorcism to rid the place of whatever evil was down there. He wouldn't be able to help without the owner's consent because of property ownership. He also stated if they didn't give permission it could easily return or deny the exorcism.
These types of entities stay no matter what if the owners of the homes or spaces don't object to their presence, they can easily leave and then return. So in order for an exorcism to be successful he had to have the owner's support and consent. So Sam and I had a lot to do in the next 24 hours.
"Alright dude, we got a lot to do tomorrow, get some rest," Sam said. I nodded and we got showers and headed to be. It was times like this I missed Jen's insight and abilities, she'd be able to help Amanda to figure this out. They always made a great team. Of all the times for me to ask her not to be involved. But I was right the first time. I couldn't fully grieve if her spirit was still attached and hanging around.

I woke middle of the night to chanting, almost a gentle soft voice, and the smell of sandalwood incense. I sat up to see Jennifer sitting in the middle of a science candle circle.
"Jennifer, you promised," I said gently.
"Not to interfere with your job, but this thing you're going after..... it's dangerous... you promised the girls you wouldn't go back yet here you are thinking about it...." she responded. She was hazy almost see thru.
"I get that you're concerned but I gotta at least have peace in my dreams..." I said.
"This is all in your head Colby.... your imagination..." she smiled, "I am merely here to help as you wished for..."
"Wished for?" I asked confused, rubbing my eyes.
"Of all the times to not ask me to be involved remember?" she asked.
"Sure but I didn't mean to have you enter my dreams again angel..." I sighed laying back down.
"Well, I am here and you're not prepared and protected enough to take on a demon," she said.
"You need to do a protection spell and get the right ingredients.... speak to the wife about spirit to spirit ashes to ashes banish this evil..... she'll know what it means..." she said, "That's all my love... I know you two won't stay away so the least I can do is try to help protect you... I love you. I'll leave you be..." And with that, she was gone.
~*~*~
I woke from my dream, confused. How did she follow me here if the ring was at home? Was she connected to the ring or was she connected to me? I didn't know but what I did know was she was helping us even from beyond the grave. I wrote down everything she had said and then tucked it away. I sighed and glanced at the clock, 4 am, maybe another couple of hours... I let myself sleep again, this time no dreams.

Once I finally met up with Sam that morning he took one look at me and sighed.
"What happened?" he asked, "You look stressed and exhausted." I smiled and told him everything, the dream, Jen's warning, the instructions, and what to ask about.
"Wow, you got all that? how did she follow if the ring is at home?" he asked.
"I was asking myself the same damn thing, maybe she's moved her attachment from the ring to me," I said.
"That is a possibility, but we should look into all this and see what we come up with..." he nodded.
"I don't think even in death Jen would ever steer us wrong... we have to go to the wife's shop, see if she knows the spells and has the ingredients needed to perform the protection spell..." I said. He agreed and we got the address for the holistic shop and headed there in our rental.
It was about twenty minutes away from the hotel, but it was easy to spot. Walking in it was overwhelming the smell of sage and other herbs. The wife was waiting at the counter.
"Sam, Colby, welcome," she smiled. We were taken aback by the fact she knew who we were and that she was expecting us.
"Um, hello..." I said politely.
"Don't be so surprised... the spirits told me you'd be arriving, anxious to help cleanse the hotel," she said nodding for us to come over.
"Now what do you need from me?" she added.
"Written permission for an exorcism and the ingredient for the ashes-to-ashes protection spell..." i said bluntly.
"Of course..." she said and began writing feverishly on her computer. after a few moments, she printed something off, signed it, and handed it over.
"Now, do you need the ingredients or the full instructions as well?" she asked, "Because it's a costly spell, especially with the protection crystals and things needed for this."
"We will take everything you have as long as you take a credit card.." Sam said, holding his up. She nodded and began scurrying around the shop gathering everything, weird sand, burning sage, a bell, and some amethyst crystals for us to wear. Once we paid she sighed.
"Good luck, Legion won't take kindly to your priest or your spells..." she said.
"Legion?" I asked, confused. Sam and I glanced at each other and then back at her. She seemed so nonchalant when she answered.
"The demon," she said simply.
~~~~ Author's NOTES~~~~
I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to update. It has taken me some time to think of a way to continue the story. I believe I may have rushed it just a smidge. So now I am trying to figure out a way to continue it without it getting dull. And I've been so focused on my medium story that this has been getting neglected while I've hunted for inspiration. The medium story is doing so well I've been getting a lot of suggestions and I've had a lot of inspiration. And the werewolf story that I started has been moving slowly but I've soup and getting inspired for that. Thankfully I have some ideas to continue this story. While waiting for these updates please feel free to read my other Colby Brock sections.
I apologize that the story is moving so slow but I am so grateful for all of you that are reading this.
