"Kareem? What are you doing here so late? Is Kelis okay?" Genesis asked as she opened the door for Kareem.
"We need to talk" Kareem said.
"Um, it couldn't wait until later? It's two in the morning" Genesis said.
"It's important Gen" Kareem said.
Genesis sighed then moved to the side, allowing him to walk in.
"East is locked up" Kareem blurted out.
"What!?! Why? What did he do?" Genesis asked.
Kareem sighed, "They arrested him for killing Jayceon."
"What the fuck? He told me that there was no evidence! How the fuck did this happen?" Genesis asked.
"The crazy thing is that East didn't kill Jayceon. I don't know how this shit happened, but I think it was Zander's baby mama. She's the only witness" Kareem said.
"UGH! I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL THAT BITCH" Genesis shouted.
"Calm down Gen, I don't want you to wake Kaiser up. We'll figure this shit out" Kareem said.
Kareem honestly didn't know what to do. Supposedly, new evidence surfaced from the crime scene.. Kareem knew that that couldn't be right though. He seen Zander kill Jayceon with his own eyes. He was almost certain that Harmony was behind all of this.
A loud knock caused Genesis to jump.
"Relax, that's just Zander. I told him to meet me here" Kareem said.
Kareem opened the door then Zander and Harmony walked in.
"YOU FUCKING BITCH" Genesis shouted as she darted towards Harmony.
Kareem quickly pulled her back. "Calm down Gen! Your son is in the other room" Kareem said.
"The fuck is up with her?" Zander asked.
"East is locked up. They locked him up for Jayceon's murder. Now I know for sure that East ain't pull that muthafucking trigger. Yo baby mama went to the cops and told them that East killed Jayceon. She gone pay for this shit too" Kareem said.
"It wasn't me, but I think I know who it was" Harmony said.
"Who? Because I'm five seconds away from beating the fuck out of you" Genesis said as she tried to escape Kareem's grip.
"I told Lola. I didn't think that she would say anything" Harmony said.
"YOU STUPID BITCH! WHY WOULD YOU TELL HER!?! LET ME GO KAREEM" Genesis shouted as she began to cry.
"I'm sorry" Harmony said as tears fell from her face.
The thought of East never getting out was killing Genesis. She felt even worse about what went down between them. She just wanted to hug him and tell him that she loves him. She wanted to apologize and let him know that she loves every bit of him. She couldn't do any of that though.
"Kareem please! Please fix this. I need him" Genesis cried out.
"I'll try my hardest to fix it Gen" Kareem said.
The truth is, there's only ONE person that can fix all of this.
"It just doesn't feel right to do this without him."
"Genesis, he's not getting out anytime soon. We have to face reality now sweetheart. I know it hurts. I cry and pray EVERY night. I want my baby boy home just as much as you do. He may not be able to celebrate with us, but at least you can record this moment for later" Yasmine said.
I sighed, "it's just so hard. He should be here right now."
"I know baby. What does he always tell you though? To be strong, right?" Yasmine asked.
I nodded then wiped my tears away.

"You be strong then. Now let's go outside. Everybody is waiting" Yasmine said.
She grabbed my hand then led the way to the backyard.
"SHE'S READY NOW" Yasmine shouted.
"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1" everybody counted down.
"OH MY GOD! IT'S A GIRL" Sammy shouted.
I couldn't do anything but cry. East has been hoping and praying for a girl. I just wish that he was here to experience this moment with me. I hate it here without him. I miss my baby, and I pray for a miracle everyday.
Knowing him, I knew that the situation was serious. I was right too. Although East didn't kill Jayceon, the detectives still managed to find evidence that supported Lola's claims. The trial is still pending, but it's not looking good for East. I will never stop fighting for his freedom though. He's not a saint, but he's innocent in this situation.
My whole world came crashing down when I found out that East was in jail. Especially because of the way that we left off. We're in a better place now though. I haven't hugged him or touched him in months, and that's killing me. I hate seeing my man through a glass, but at least he's not dead. At least I still have the chance to spend time with him. I'm grateful for that.
Lola basically fell off the face of the earth. We haven't seen her since East went to jail. It's like she turned East in then fled. I was hoping that her disappearance would end all of this. Unfortunately, they don't need her to testify. They have enough evidence to move forward without her. I can't help but to worry about her sometimes though. East still worries about her too. I mean, she is pregnant with his son. She should be around eight and a half months, meaning that she could give birth any day now. I hope she's safe...for the baby's sake.
"Are you excited?" Kelis asked as she rubbed my stomach.
I smiled, "I'm very excited. I'm sure her daddy will be excited too."
"He's gonna be ecstatic" Kelis said.
I placed my hand on her stomach, rubbing it in a circular motion. "You only have ten weeks left miss mamas. You ready?"
Kelis rolled her eyes, "don't remind me sis, and hell no I'm not ready. Those labor videos look scary."
Kelis is now seven months pregnant with a baby girl. Kareem wanted a boy, but he was still happy about his baby girl. Oh let me not forget the fact that they're also engaged now. Kareem proposed at their gender reveal. All that shit they were talking, knowing damn well they fell in love the moment they laid eyes on each other. I'm super happy for them though.
"It hurts like hell, but it's so worth it. I'm just glad that my princess will have two girl cousins to play with."
"And they'll only be a month apart. We most definitely have to get matching outfits for them" Kelis said.
"Definitely, I can see the pictures now. Lil Gen and lil Lele."
"Hello my prego besties" Sammy said as she approached us with a plate of food.
"You brought me some food? You shouldn't have" Kelis said as she snatched Sammy's plate.
Sapphire mugged her, "my niece is the only thing saving you from an ass whooping. You know I don't play about my food."

I laughed then shook my head.
"I guess I'll just starve. Zander is in the house, and he keeps staring at me. Weirdo ass nigga" Sammy said as she shook her head.
"He wants that old thang back sis."
"I'll mop the sea before I go back to that bitch" Sammy said.
Kelis and I busted out laughing.
"MOMMY! I HAVE SISTER?" Kaiser shouted as he ran over to me.
"Yes baby, baby sister is in mommy's belly."
Kaiser smiled then kissed my stomach.
"I'm gonna cry" Kelis said. She gave Sammy's plate back then started fanning her eyes.
"Don't cry because then I'll start crying" I pouted.
"Pregnant bitches be like" Sapphire said as we all laughed.
The rest of my gender reveal was nothing short of amazing. It felt good to be around people that genuinely love and care about me. Of course it felt incomplete without East, but I still had a great time. I just wanted the next day to hurry up and come, so I could visit him. I can't wait to see his face when I tell him that we're having a girl.
"Wright, you have a visitor" Matt, the correctional officer said.
I nodded then stood up, allowing him to put a pair of shackles around my waist, wrists, and ankles.
"Sorry about this man. I know they're uncomfortable" Matt said.
"It's cool bro. I understand."
Matt is one of my favorite guards. He's been looking out for me since I got here. He's one of the few guards that actually does his job correctly.
We entered the visiting area, and I spotted Gen standing behind a glass. She was rubbing her stomach while looking around. We both smiled when we made eye contact. It makes my day whenever she comes to visit me.
"Congratulations on the baby. Enjoy your visit" Matt said.
I nodded, " 'Preciate that."
He removed the shackles then I sat down in the chair.
"Hey baby" Genesis spoke through the phone.
"Wassup, you look beautiful today."
Genesis blushed, "thank you my love."
"You're welcome, how did the gender reveal go? Am I getting another son or a daughter?"
"It's a girl!" Genesis exclaimed.
A big smile etched across my face. I was hoping that I would get a girl. A single tear fell from my face as I stared at Genesis. I wanted to hug and kiss all on her. This shit ain't right at all. We should be celebrating TOGETHER.
"Awwww baby, please stop crying. I wanna hug you so bad right now" Genesis said.
"That shit just made my whole day Gen. You really 'bout to give me a daughter."
Genesis smiled, "she's lucky to have such an amazing daddy."
"I hope I get the chance to be a father to her and my sons."
"And you will. I'll never stop fighting for your freedom babe. I know you're innocent" Genesis said.
This whole situation has been weird as fuck. Them finding evidence, them accusing me of killing Jayceon, Lola snitching, none of it makes sense. Lola didn't even see what went down. Harmony saw Zander pull the trigger, so I don't know how they have evidence that's linked to me. They claim to have a murder weapon with my fingerprints on it, but I wore gloves. The gun wasn't registered to me, and I would never leave a murder weapon at the crime scene. Something is off about this whole situation, but I'm confident that the truth will come to light.
"You don't need to be fighting for anything. You need to rest up and take it easy."
"I won't be able to rest until you're back home. Me and Kaiser miss you so much. Your family misses you too. We all NEED you back home" Genesis said.
I sighed, "tell Kareem that I need him to find out what's going on ASAP. Something ain't right about this situation baby. I'm not gonna go into details, but Kareem will know what I'm talking about."
Genesis nodded, "okay baby. I'll tell him."
"I appreciate you Gen. You been holding a nigga down, and I can't thank you enough for that."
"Of course, why wouldn't I hold you down? I love you to death. I'll never let you go through a situation like this by yourself" Genesis said.
"I love you too, more than I love myself."
Genesis smiled then wiped a tear away. "I still haven't heard from Lola. I really hope that she's okay" she said.
"I hope so too."
I don't fully believe that Lola snitched on me. She might talk a lot of shit, but I've known her for YEARS. I don't think that she would've done this, especially when we have a child on the way. It's possible that she had something to do with it, but somebody would have had to help her. I hope and pray that she's okay. If she's not okay then my son isn't okay, and that's a problem. This is exactly why I need Kareem and the rest of my people to come through for me. I need to be home.
"Are you sure that we can get away with this shit? I mean, this is some serious shit."
"Relax, I have the judge and the jury right where I need them. Jeremiah Wright will NEVER see the light of day again, and that's all thanks to you" Detective Norris said.
Detective Norris has always been obsessed with East. He's been wanting to put East in jail for the past decade. Detective Norris was furious when East decided to let go of the street life. He told himself that he'd do whatever he had to do to get East put behind bars...even if he had to frame him.
East has never done anything to Norris personally. He just hated the fact that East was always able to outsmart him. He hated the fact that East got out of the streets before he could catch him. Norris felt like East didn't deserve to live the good life that he was living. He came across a new piece of evidence from the crime scene of Jayceon's murder, and that piece of evidence changed EVERYTHING. It wasn't exactly enough to get East put away for life, which is why he framed him.
"I don't know man. I'm hearing that his family is determined to get him out. The Wright's don't fuck around, and that girlfriend of his is a problem."
"She's not much of a problem right now, but if she becomes a more serious problem then we'll have to get rid of her" Detective Norris said.
Little does he know, it's not Genesis that he should be worried about.
The TRUTH will come to light sooner than later.

The story tries to show the moment when the old starts to be replaced by the new, with a healthy dose of magic and a little steampunk in the background. Also, it revolves around a party dynamic akin to RPG sessions. No health/mana bars. Numbers are secondary and the LITRPG elements focus more on classes/spells/runes and their evolutions. Tables are sparse at the beginning, but from chapter 7 onwards they appear more often. Still, I won't be copy-pasting the whole character sheet dozens of times per chapter.
