Krew's lawyer was finally able to get my father another trial with a different judge.
"You ready to go baby". Krew asked walking into my room.
"Yeah I'm just nervous and where is Miranda". I asked turning around to look at him.
"She downstairs waiting on us so let's go before we be late". He said grabbing my hand and dragging me out.
We walked to the living room and Miranda was sitting on the couch watching tv. She looked a little off but I didn't question it.
"Hey girly are you ready". I ask as she pulls me into a hug.
"Um y-yeah I'm r-ready". She said causing me to pull away from the hug.
"You okay". I ask and she clears her throat before nodding.
"Yeah yeah let's go". She said walking out of the door.
"What's up with her". I ask as we walk out and I lock my door.
"I don't know she must be nervous". He said opening the car door for me.
I get in and he closes the door before getting in himself and pulling off.
Pulling up to the court house there were cameras and reporters everywhere.
We get out and make our way towards the building.
"Ma'am you're the daughter how do you feel about your father being the most talked about murderer". A reporter asked and Krew roughly pushed him out of my way.
"Stay your ass out my girl face asking her dumb shit". He said pointing in his face.
Finally making it inside we start to walk inside when Miranda stops.
"I have to go to the bathroom I'll meet you guys inside". She said and we nod before walking in and taking a seat waiting for the trial to start.
After using the restroom and washing my hands I go and walk out when I am snatched into an empty hall. I look and see that it's officer Roth. I've been having problems with him since he killed my brother. That's why the night they picked up Sariahs dad I ran.

"I hear that you're here to testify that the retard didn't do it". He said chuckling as he looked at the ground before looking at me.
"You see you're going to go in there and you're going to tell them that you saw him do it". He said and I shook my head.
"No I won't do that you won't ruin their lives like you did my families". I said and he walked over to me before wrapping his hand around my neck tightly holding his gun to my head with the other.
"Like I said you're going to go in there and say you saw him kill her or you're going to end up like your brother and so will your friends you got that". He asked as I cried.
"I SAID DO YOU FUCKING GO THAT". He yelled pushing my into the wall roughly.
I nod my head and he lets me go backing away.
"Good lets go". He said glaring at me pulling me out of the empty hall.
In the midst of me looking around I saw a camera where we just were and there was a red light letting me know it was recording.
Walking into the court room the trial had started and I was being called up.
"So tell us what you saw that night". The lawyer asked walking back and forth.
I look around the room and my eyes land on Sariah and she gives me a small smile with the thumbs up and then I look over at Roth who was making a gun gesture to Sariah then Krew and then me.
No one saw him because he was standing in the back.
"I was coming from the store and I heard yelling so I went to go see what's going on and I saw the man kill her". I said looking down at my lap.

"By the man are you implying Mr.Jacobs". He asked and I started tearing up before nodding.
"WHAT MIRANDA TELL THE TRUTH". Sariah yelled as I looked at Roth who was smirking.
"I'm so sorry Sariah". I said and she looked at me in disbelief.
"Sorry is that all you have to say to me you're lying to these people tell them what you told me". She said standing up and a few officers walked over to her trying to calm her down.
"Please take a seat Ms.Jacobs". The judge said but Sariah only shook her head and walked out with Krew following behind her.
How could she just lie like that I thought she was cool but she's just like everybody else.
"Baby please calm down". Krew said rubbing my shoulders.
"He's never getting out they're going to keep him locked up and he doesn't deserve that". I said trying to keep tears from falling but it was no use.
"Listen to me baby if I got to dig a hole to get inside the prison I'll do it and send y'all out of the country".He said causing me to laugh a little bit.
"See there we go that's that smile I love to see now come on let's go back in there your father needs us". He said and I nod following him in catching a little bit of what the judge was saying.
"The evidence and this witnesses information does not match and I would like to take more time to look into this do court will resume in two days court dismissed". The judge said standing up gathering her things.
"Can I hug him". I asked causing her to stop what she's doing and look up.
"Please I promise I'll be quick". I said and she looked at my dad before looking at me.
"Go ahead". She said and I walked around the gate wrapping my arms around him.
"Daddy Love Sariah". He said laying his head in the crook of my neck.
"Sariah loves daddy more". I said pulling away from the hug kissing his cheek.
"Daddy go home with Sariah now". He asked looking at me with hopefully eyes.
"Not today daddy but I'll come see you tomorrow". I said and he started tearing up.
"Alright Mr.Jacobs it's time to go". The female officer that's been looking out for him said.
He nodded and they started walking away. After they were out of the court room I turn and walk back over to Krew.
"Let's go". I said walking past him.
I'm going to beat Miranda's ass for that stunt she pulled in court...

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

The Solipsist
Every novel needs a main character, and in this case, it's a young man named Jacob Bates. Jacob is your average guy who likes books, television, and long walks on the beach. One day, Jacob was diagnosed with a condition that made his body frail and weak. This drove Jacob to focus solely on his studies, ending up becoming a fairly capable guy, despite his condition. The road ahead was looking great! That's when a little scene occurred between Jacob's girlfriend and one of his male classmates. Jacob's mood was a little lower than dirt from thereon. His motivation to pursue his studies, gone. This event caused Jacob to fall into the death grip that is a job in retail. One day, while Jacob was mopping the cold floors of the grocery store he worked in, a strange blue screen appeared in front of him, notifying him that the world was going through a change. Now if this change was a good or bad thing, he didn't know. But there was one thing Jacob knew for certain. He didn't have to mop the floors anymore. Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)

Elements of Reality
Sages. when one looks up the term in the dictionary, ignoring the plant variation, it means: A profoundly wise man. That, is not what it means to most people in this story. A Sage is a being beyond other humans, capable of moving the elements of the world to his will, and able to do impressive feats of strength. Kazuya Hiiro is a Sage, one of many in the world, born with the power to control elements, said power unlocked at the age of twelve. The only issue was... there were only ten elements right? Blood of the Past
He awoke in a startled rush feeling as though it had been centuries since last he had opened his eyes, but alas, it had. His thoughts returned and he heard the screaming of his people and the great pain from the burning fires set against them. He was shunned and outcast along with the rest of his people, and the wars, the terrible wars fought because they could not understand. The Humans could not understand and would not understand him and his peoples true nature. He stood, his strength returning to him, as he did so the dust that had gathered on him fell to the floor. He looked around the cave which he hid in all those centuries ago and he found the way out. He made his way towards it, wanting to see the same as which he had when he entered, wilderness. He made it to the mouth of the cave and found it to be near midday, and he saw naught but wilderness. Save a lone tower far in the distance clearly overgrown and abandoned. His blood boiled as he stepped into the light and the harsh reality of him and his people rushed back into his mind. He would wait for night, and then he would move.
