《Leading Love [boyxboy]》Chapter 28

*Chapter 28*
When the bell rang, I immediately got up to check who it was, already expecting Quentin's brother to show up. On the other side, the others were confused as to why I was absent the passing time until now just to open the door.
"Where is he?" Was the very first thing that shot from Jin's mouth when I opened the door.
"Upstairs," I mumbled, being about to show him the way when he just pushed it's way through and quickly disappeared after running the stairs up. I sighed and closed the door before returning.
"What is happening?" Memphis frowned when he noticed Jin passing by. "Who was that?"
"Quentin kind of collapsed. And that guy was his brother," I explained in two sentences.
"Collapsed?!" They gasped. "What? How?" Jane stood up in worry. But I forced her to sit back down, having in mind that it wouldn't do Quentin any good to be surrounded by to many people right now.
"I don't know, that's what we're trying to figure out." I bit my lips and let my fingers drove through my hair. "I hope he'll be fine." The worry in me, became worse every minute I had to wait any longer.
And that was until Jin called me. I didn't waste another second and jumped up, leaving to head to my room.
Jin was sitting at the bed, looking like he knew what he was doing while Quentin's eyes were still closed. "Is he okay?" I wanted to know and went over to get a better look.
"He was asking for you," Jin mumbled, not being too fond about it. I looked down on him, seeing as his expression looked troubled but changed to a calm one once he slightly opened his eyes, noticing me.
I took his hand in mine and added a little pressure to make sure that he knew I was there for him. He gave me a small smile, appreciating my presence, as I suppose before I turned to Jin, wanting to know what it was that he had.
"He seemes to have an allergic reaction, I think," he assumed.
"What how? He didn't eat anything with citrus though," I frowned.
"Figured. Since he would be in risk of death if he did. But he is having the same or rather similar symptoms, just not as bad which is why I assume it is an allergic reaction. So what did you give him that he ended up like that?" He was calm and composed but his eyes clearly showed a bitter coldness and a hint of something judgemental.
"I didn't give him anything," I bit my lips because even if it was true, it didn't sound like it was. "All he was eating was-," I stopped in tracks when suspicion raised in my mind. "Wait a second," I frowned, letting go of Quentin and getting up. "I need to check something."
And with that I left both of them alone to get back too the others who were still impatiently waiting for some information.
"And what happened? Do you know now?" Jane sat up once she saw me coming back. But I didn't answer, instead I went to Collin with that one question in mind.
"What did you give him?" I crossed my arms.
"What? Now it is my fault? You saw what I gave him!" His face flushed red and his words came out a little too hysterical.

"Collin!" I grabbed his collar and tugged him up, minimizing the distance between us. "What the fuck did you do?"
He panicked. "It was Pixie's idea! I just agreed to it." That wasn't making him less at fault. "It was just meant as a little prank, not to harm him."
"Zaron, calm down," Memphis tried, but I was not in the state to listen to his words.
"I'll hit you if you don't tell me right now what you gave him," I threatened him.
"Yeah okay fine, just let go of me," he submitted. And so I did. He sighed in release and fixed his collar again. "Thank you," he huffed.
"So?" I cocked my eyebrow.
"Yeah here," he pulled out something from his pocket and pressed it in my hands. It was a small box for pills that looked like some kind of meds I thought until I read what was on it. I widened my eyes at him in disbelief once I recognized the word. "I told you, it was just meant as a joke," he glanced away then he slightly blushed.
I didn't even comment on it and rubbed on my temple to calm down. I shook my head at him and laughed bitterly at it. "You're just stupid," I turned around and head back to Quentin who was already asleep by now.
"So you know now?" He raised his eyebrows. I didn't even look in his eyes when I tossed him the box Collin gave me while I was back at Quentin's side.
"What the fuck?" Jin had the same eyes as I had before when I knew what this was all about. "You gave him Viagra?"
"I didn't. I just found out, too." I was not even up for being mad about it anymore which is why I just shrugged.
"Seems like it could be it. I didn't know that you were allergic to viagra," he stroked Quentin's hair from his face and shook his head. "But why viagra?" He turned to me.
"It was a some kind of prank from my mates. I don't know, probably as some kind of revenge," I shrugged.
"What a shitty prank," he chuckled.
"Right!" I agreed. "At the end if it had turned out the way it was planned, it would've also been a bug on me since Quentin would have come bothering me with his problem," I shook my head as he snorted at it.
"I still wonder how you can keep up with him. He had so many friends and flings, that I just can't call boyfriends, and at the end it was either them or him who broke things off," he started and continued.
"All the time when something happened, he never told me about it. That's when he started having piercings. He once came home with bruises on his wrists and ankles. I think his current boyfriend abused him, but when I asked about him, he just laughed it off like it was nothing," he smirked, but it was not even close to an amusing smile.
And what he said was quite shocking. So Quentin had sides that even his family didn't know about.
"You know, I never really saw him crying in the passed ten years. I don't know if he did cry and just kept it from us or whether he really never did. I've also never met one of his flings, too. Guess that makes you the first one." His eyes were fixed on Quentin the whole time. "I'm just worried. I suppose he never actually talked to you about his life apart from home and the guy he destroyed the car of."

I thought about it. "No, not really." And it was to my surprise that I just realized that.
"See," his gaze were back on me. "I'm sorry how I reacted before. I don't really have anything against you. I just think that it's hard seeing him with someone he really cares about. Even if it annoys the hell out of me that you are an old dude," he mumbled the last part.
"Well at least I'm not into daddy kinks," I shrugged, thinking about Quentin coming up with it in the middle of... okay not good, shouldn't be thinking about that now.
"How did you two met anyway? I don't get it. A dating website or what?" Jim seemed utterly confused.
"Heck no! I didn't even want a relationship when he came up in the middle of the night, suddenly approaching me, telling me that he wanted me and on top of that threatened to stalk me if I don't give him my number."
Jim chuckled and shook his head. "Guess it didn't help when I supported it by locating your place," he scratched his neck.
"So it was you, huh? I was so shook when he suddenly appeared in front of my door," I shook my head. "Then there was that major lack of respect and behaviour."
"Tell me about it," he laughed. "Most of the things we tell him, he doesn't even listen to, like he literally doesn't give a shit. You have no idea how often we told him to stop wearing pink briefs, to stop eating too much candy, to stop wasting hundreds of dollars just for them and to say thank you and sorry when he is suppose to. And these are just a few points of what feels like thousands," he enumerated in annoyance. "Though even if he doesn't say thank you. He mostly shows his gratitude by kissing. I think that's just his way of expressing it. At least one thing that I understand about him."
We were so deep in the conversation that we totally forgot our surroundings. Who would've thought that Jin and I turned out to get along so well? He was actually a really nice guy and completely different from Quentin. But then again, Quentin can't be compared to anyone else.
"Hey Zaron-," Jin stared at Quentin when he suddenly turned in his sleep. "He's not sleeping well," he averted from his previous words before reaching over to check his temperature.
"How do you know?" I frowned.
"Because Quentin never moves in his sleep." His answer was simple but still enough to understand. "He'll still be tired when he wakes up, for sure."
"You really think he's okay?" I bit my lips. How was he so sure about that?
"He survived eating lemon as a five year old, survived a car accident and Ramon's definition of practice in fighting. Compared to that, a small allergic reaction is definitely not going to kill him," he said convinced which kept me quiet.
It was silent between us for a while now where we both just watched Quentin sleeping. I don't know why but it was somehow calming.
"Zaron?" Jin fiddled with his hands. "Do you, you know," he hesitated. "Do you love him?"
My eyes were practically glued to him once his words left his mouth, not expecting that question and therefore not knowing how to respond at first.
I pressed my lips to a thin line. It wasn't as if I had really thought so thoroughly about it that I could give an immediate answer. But at the same time, it wasn't that I hadn't thought about it at all. I mean, it's weird if I hadn't.
"It's wrong to say that I don't," I honestly said. "But I'm not certain enough to say that I do."
"And did he say it to you?" He still wasn't looking at me.
"He didn't."
*
"I'm sorry, really. I never wanted it to turn out like this," Pixie apologized and Collin agreed.
"I'm not mad about it," I rolled my eyes at them. "Shit happens sometimes. Just make sure that you don't get him near that stuff nor lemons or oranges and fruit like that," I warned beforehand to make sure that this would be the last time.
"What did you guys even give him?" Memphis wanted to know eagerly. But in that moment we heard steps that distracted us from our topic when they slowly approached us, followed by a voice.
"No you can't just leave! You need to stay in bed!" Jin's voice followed at the same time as Quentin stumbled down the steps but caught himself last minute when he specifically walked over to me.
All our eyes were fixed on him when he went ahead and suddenly sat on my lap, wrapping his arms around my neck and clinging to me. I was a bit overwhelmed when the sudden weight hit me. He was already worn out from the way from my room to here. But that was obvious since his body wasn't fit yet.
Jin sighed at him and shook his head like he had given up on it. "Whatever, it's his problem now," he mumbled and took a seat on the last free place which was next to Pixie.
Quentin was still burning up, I realized when my arm went around his torso. And his breathing were once again irregular. That wasn't good, he should calm down. "Quentin," I mumbled. "Come on get up." I tried to push him away but he instinctly faught against it by tightening his grip around me that I noticed just know how he was trembling.
"D-don't wanna," Quentin whispered. Of course he didn't. I rolled my eyes. "I'm fine," he said. But everyone knew that that was bullshit.
"I promise I will do whatever you want as soon as you get better. But only if you go back to bed now," I whispered just for him to hear.
That thankfully caught his interest when he slowly let go of me with hope in his eyes. "R-really?"
"Yeah really," I nodded. He smiled and immediately got up to return to my room and rest. "Such a moron," I smirked.
"Huh? Wow, and he wouldn't even listen to me," Jin complained.
"So you are his brother?" Jane looked at him in curiosity. "Nah, I don't believe it. Y'all be messing with me," she turned away.
