《After the Aftermath》Date night

Eric told Noah and Elle to drop him off at a seven eleven near a Waffle House. He'd told them that he had a safe house near by and wished them the best of luck in the rest of their life. Elle gave Eric and pat on the back and Noah had thanked him for saving his life. After goodbyes had been said they left. Noah was driving through Maryland with Elle in the back seat changing out of her sweat pants. Noah trained his eyes on the road, refusing to look in the rear view mirror. Even before Harvard happened he wouldn't have. Elle was a beautiful woman, but he was also a gentleman.
"Noah, where are we going?" Elle asked. Noah laughed.
"I was thinking we'd pick up some dinner and then head home." Home, it sounded so strange to hear that word. Elle had been only away for a month but it felt like years. Noah pulled into a restaurant parking lot.
"Aren't we going to like a drive through?" Elle asked. Noah got out and opened her door.
"We, are going on a date, an official one." He smirked as he let Elle out of the car. She stood in her sun dress and flip flops that were not appropriate for the place they were at.
"Noah, I think we need a reservation for this place." He laughed.
"No we don't, have you met me?" Elle laughed at his confidence. She'd missed it.
"I love you." She squeezed his hand.
"Love you too." He whispered. Trying not to make her uncomfortable.
"Come on, let's go eat." He smiled. She nodded and followed him inside the restaurant. Once inside, they noticed everyone huddled around the tv. A news reporter was standing in front of the Dulles Airport.

"Criminals who were involved in a car chase earlier today, have hijacked a plane originally headed to Los Angeles."
Elle looked at Noah.
"Noah we have to go." She whispered. He nodded.
"Let's go babe." He said as they dashed out of the crowded restaurant. As they got to the car Noah stopped.
"Elle?" He asked.
"Yes?" She responded, breathlessly.
"I want you to know that whatever happens, whatever's thrown our way, you'll still always be my Shelly." He said. Elle walked towards him, placing her hands at either side of his head.
"And you'll always be my best friends older brother." She laughed. He laughed with her.
"I'll always love you Noah Flynn, always." She planted a kiss on his lips and then they were off into the night.
5 hours later—
Lee and his parents sat in their living room. Rachel was in the kitchen cooking. There was an eerie tension in the room, the uncomfortable waiting for Noah's return. The door bell sounded.
"I'll get it." Lee suggested. When he opened the door, a wiry man wearing sunglasses at night was waiting for him with two other men behind him.
"Hi, we're having some car trouble, can we come on for a second?" The man wearing the tacky sunglasses asked. Lee nodded.
"Sure, my mom will be right with you." Lee smiled wearily, letting the men into his house. He directed them to the living room and then excused himself to the bathroom. When he came back, the wiry man had a gun to his mom's head.
"Why don't you have a seat, Lee. Noah and Elle will be a few days."

In Range
A young, talented, and aspiring archer makes his way to the Olympic Archery Qualifiers; however an accident prevents him from ever making it. An accident which took the final years of his adolescence, his dream of ever becoming an Olympic Gold Archer, and most importantly someone who meant the world to him. Rehabilitating for a year in a hospital, the despair and dread of being alone and having nothing left worth living for finally got to him. Finding his way to the rooftop, he decided fall, but where he expected death, something else appeared; a blue message. A chill and simple LitRPG story that I just wanted to write. Note: I write with the Dark Theme setting, so if I make a colour mistake it’s probably why. I also strangely prefer using the Imperial System to measure Height, while I use the Metric System for almost everything else (Canadian by the way).
